Christianity EtcEverlasting Solution by kpakpandoN(op): 7:18am On Aug 28, 2025
There are certain conditions that people call long-standing problems. These are problems that have lingered for so long that it seems there is no solution to them. Well, I want to introduce you to the One who is older than the oldest. He is the Everlasting Solution to every long-standing problem because He has been in existence long before any problem existed.

Acts 3:1-11 tells us of a man who was born lame. When you hear that a grown-up man was born lame, you know that it is a long-standing problem that no one has been able to solve. As Peter and John were about to go into the temple, he asked them for alms. Peter said, “Silver and gold, I have not, but I will give you what I have.” Then, he said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Suddenly, the man who had never walked all his life began to walk and jump and praise God. The Bible says that when he entered the temple, everybody looked at him in amazement because they all knew he had been lame since birth, and none of them had imagined that there was a solution to his problem.

In Mark 5:2-19, we read of a madman who was living in a graveyard. He had been mad for a while, and everybody knew him; he seemed to be a hopeless case. Then, he encountered Jesus Christ, and with just one word, he was set free. When the people in the region came and saw the man who used to be mad, sitting, well-dressed, and in his right mind, they were afraid. The Everlasting Solution came on the scene and solved the man’s long-standing madness instantly. Likewise, in John 5:1-9, there was a man who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years. This man had a permanent spot by the Pool of Bethesda, and every time the angel came to stir the water, he missed his opportunity to be healed. However, when his long-standing problem encountered the Everlasting Solution, it disappeared immediately.

Beloved, if you have been encountering problems that have lingered for a long time, Jesus is all you need. He is the Everlasting Solution to every ancient problem, and He is willing and able to put an end to all the problems you might be facing once you have genuinely submitted your life to Him.

Christianity EtcNo Respecter Of Persons by kpakpandoN(op): 8:18am On Aug 27, 2025
God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34); whatever He has done for somebody else before, He can do for you also. For example, in 1 Kings 17:8-16, there was a widow who had only one meal left. God paid her a visit, and that final meal lasted another three years. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, there was another widow who had only one pot of oil. The Lord moved in her situation, and the oil kept multiplying until there was enough to sell to pay all her debts and live on for her lifetime. If you’ve seen God do something you desire for somebody, take that as an assurance that He can do the same for you. When you come across an account of a kind of miracle that you desire in the Scriptures, rejoice because your own miracle is on its way. As long as they’re His children, God isn’t partial to anyone or any type of people; all that matters to Him is that you believe, because all things are possible to those who believe (Mark 9:23). God is a God of principles, and anyone who follows His principles and has faith in Him will experience His goodness and power.

Jesus couldn’t do many mighty works in His hometown because of the people’s unbelief (Matthew 13:58). Even though they were His townspeople, as long as they didn’t have faith, they couldn’t receive miracles. Unbelief closed the doors of miracles to them, and Jesus, who had the Holy Spirit without measure (John 3:34), could only heal a few sick people (Mark 6:5). No matter how close you think you are to God, if you harbour unbelief, you may limit what He can do in your life and through you.

When someone has faith, regardless of the fellow’s nationality, ability, or status, he or she will experience great miracles. When Jesus was on earth, while some Jews were dying in their sicknesses because of their unbelief, some Gentiles were receiving jaw-dropping miracles. The Centurion in Matthew 8:5-13 is an example of a Gentile whose faith attracted miracles. He understood that distance isn’t a barrier when faith is present, and Jesus was amazed at his great faith.

Beloved, if you have faith in God concerning a miracle you’ve seen or read about, God is able to replicate the same in your life. It doesn’t matter how terrible your situation is or the obstacles that surround you; if you believe, you will see God’s glory at work (John 11:40).

Christianity EtcWonderful II by kpakpandoN(op): 8:05am On Aug 26, 2025
In Daniel 6:27, the king said, "there is no God like the God of Daniel who rescued him from the den of lions. He does wonders.” Moses and the Israelites sang the words in Exodus 15:11 to testify of God’s wonders after He delivered them from the Egyptians. They had been camped before the Red Sea, and the mighty Egyptian army came in pursuit of them to take them back into slavery. They had nowhere to go, but God instructed Moses to lift his rod over the sea, and suddenly, it parted for them to walk through to the other side on dry ground. They got to the other side and looked behind them to see the Egyptian army, who had pursued them into the midst of the sea, drowning in the same waters that parted for them. If you were there on that day, you would not need to be told that God is indeed a God of wonders.

God does things that make people marvel. I once travelled abroad, and when I landed at the airport, I didn’t see a particular son of mine whom l was so sure would be among those who came to welcome me. I asked about him and was told that he was dying at a hospital. I said, “Let’s stop by the hospital.” When we got there, we were led into a room where terminally ill patients – those whom the doctors had labelled as ‘sure to die’ – were kept. Patients who go into that room usually don’t come out alive. My son had a PSA (something in the body that doctors use to diagnose as cancer) over 4,000! The normal PSA in a man’s body is supposed to be less than 10. When it approaches 100, the doctors suspect cancer, and when it gets to 300, the cancer is diagnosed as terminal. In that country, you are not allowed to pray for anybody who doesn’t request your prayers, so even though there were many people in that room with my son, I prayed for only him and left. It was on a Saturday, and by Wednesday, he had been discharged from the hospital. However, the greater wonder was that everybody in that room when I went in there was also discharged on the same day.

Beloved, if you’re reading this and the world has concluded that there is no hope for you concerning some situations in your life, the God of wonders will surprise them, in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcWonderful I by kpakpandoN(op): 7:57am On Aug 25, 2025
Wonderful means ‘full of wonders’. God is such a wonder that the Bible calls Him Wonderful (Isaiah 9:6).

Years ago, I was travelling from Ibadan to Ilorin within Western Nigeria, and there was this narrow bridge along the way that couldn’t contain two vehicles driving side by side at the same time. There was a sign which read, ‘Narrow Bridge Ahead,’ so that when drivers approached the bridge and saw another vehicle on the bridge coming in the opposite direction, they could wait for the vehicle to pass through. On this day, my driver and I were already on the bridge, and a trailer was coming from the other side at great speed. The driver was supposed to stop for us to pass to the other side, but for unknown reasons, he didn’t. We were headed for a collision, and there was no time to pray; we could only shout, “Jesus!” We met in the middle of the bridge, and somehow, the vehicles passed by each other. When we got to the other side, my driver was shaking like a jellyfish as he parked the car. If he had looked behind him, he would have noticed I was shaking even more than he was. When he regained his composure, I had also regained mine a bit. He turned to me and asked, “Daddy, what happened?” I replied, “God enlarged the bridge.” Throughout the rest of our journey, he kept saying, “Wonderful!” and I told him, “That’s His name.”

Everything about God is wonderful. His works are wonderful ( Psalm 107:8 ) – He created the heavens and the earth in just six days! Psalm 40:5 also tells us that many are His wonderful works, and they cannot be numbered. His testimonies are also wonderful (Psalm 119:129) – He parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22) and caused the formidable walls of Jericho to crumble on their own (Joshua 6:20). His knowledge is wonderful (Psalm 139:6). His counsel is also wonderful (Isaiah 28:29) – you can never find a greater or better adviser than the Almighty God. Even when His counsel appears foolish to the human mind, it is infinitely wiser than the wisdom of men (1 Corinthians 1:25).

My wonderful God does great wonders. I pray for you today; you will experience His wonders before this year ends. When Lazarus came back to life after four days in the grave, it was a wonder. My wonderful God will visit every dead matter in your life and cause you to experience great wonders, in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcDon't Be Empty by kpakpandoN(op): 7:02am On Aug 24, 2025
A few weeks ago, I mentioned in this devotional that if it is possible to be filled with the Holy Spirit, it is also possible to be empty. The Lord, however, does not want His children to be empty. In 1 Samuel 16:1, God told Samuel, “Arise, fill thy horn with oil,” meaning that the horn was empty and needed to be filled.

In 1 Samuel 16:14, after David had been anointed as king, the Spirit of God departed from Saul, and because nature abhors a vacuum, an evil spirit took over. Being empty of the Holy Spirit is a dangerous state; therefore, you must avoid anything that can lead to that. I pray that you will never be empty of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name.

Years ago, something happened at ljebu-Ode, a town in Ogun State, Nigeria. There was a little misunderstanding between our parish members over there and some occultic people, and the latter decided to put shigidi (a crude figurine used by the occult to invoke an evil spirit to cause havoc on their targets) in front of the parish. When it was discovered, one of my spiritual sons destroyed it with a cutlass. If he had been empty spiritually, he might have died immediately. The occultic people then decided to come to the church for a physical confrontation. When one of them entered the church, he took a step forward and staggered. On taking another step, he fell.

Beloved, the devil is roaming about, looking for whom to devour (1 Peter 5:cool. So as not to be his victim, you must always be full of the Holy Spirit. No matter how hard he tries, you will always win against him if you’re always filled with the Holy Spirit.

The seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19:12--16 were empty fellows. They wanted to cast out a demon and thought they would succeed just by commanding it to leave in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preached. They went before the demon possessed man empty and were disgraced. People who think they can replicate good results without paying the necessary price always get themselves into trouble. Being empty of God’s power and presence is a dangerous state to be in because evil spirits are always looking for empty places to dwell (Matthew 12:43-45).

Don’t give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27); don’t allow evil spirits to take over your vessel. Ensure you always remain filled with the Holy Spirit so you can always walk in victory.

Christianity EtcA Very Big God by kpakpandoN(op): 7:15am On Aug 23, 2025
In Isaiah 66:1, God said, “The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool…” Also, Deuteronomy 33:27 says that He has everlasting arms. Our God is a very big God, yet He can make Himself so small that He can dwell in your heart. (1 John 4:4) says that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. God is so big that He can solve any problem just by speaking a word. When He speaks a word to you, your life will never be the same again. No person, problem, or situation is as big as the Most High God.

In 1987, one of our pastors had an extraordinary experience. He was a soap maker, and one Saturday, because he wasn’t going to be working on Sunday, he decided to make preparations towards work on Monday while everyone else at his workplace had gone home. As he was mixing some chemicals, he fell, and a bowl of acid fell on his face. He cried out in great pain as the acid burned his face and eyes, but nobody was around to help him. Finally, somebody who was passing by the factory saw the door open, went in, and saw him on the ground, groaning in pain. He was rushed to the hospital, and after the doctors attended to him and treated his face, they told him that he had lost his eyes and would never see again. He said, “Oh, that’s the doctors’ report. Take me to the Redemption Camp. Let me go and hear Jesus’ report.” When they brought him to me, my faith was honestly shaken just by looking at him. However, we serve a very big God who is not moved by the things that move men; with Him, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). I began to pray, “Father, there is nothing You cannot do. Heal the eyes of your child. Give him brand new eyes.” Today, the man the doctors said would never see again not only sees but also reads the Bible without eyeglasses!

Beloved, no matter how terrible some of the circumstances in your life might be, don’t despair. Present them to our very big God because He is more than able to handle them. I pray that God will show Himself big in your life and turn any negative situation that may exist in your life around for good, in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcTwo Sides Of A Coin by kpakpandoN(op): 6:38am On Aug 22, 2025
Many things in life have two sides or distinct opposites, just like the sides of a coin. For example, there is the sun and the moon, male and female, etc. God Himself has two sides. 1 John 4:8 says that He is Love; however, Hebrews 12:29 also says that He is a Consuming Fire.

God is a wonder; many things about Him attest to this. He is a lamb, and He is a lion. When you talk of a lamb, you immediately think of a tiny little sheep that is so beautiful that you want to hug it, but when you talk of a lion, that is an animal that people do not usually mess around with. The Bible also calls God a sun and a shield (Psalm 84:11). While the sun can be so hot that people run away from it, a shield protects people and makes them safe. We also know God as the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 1:cool. He is the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Revelation 22:13). While He is starting some things, He is putting an end to some others. He is the One who blesses a family with a newborn baby and stands faithfully by the side of a believer who is taking his or her last breath. The same God who is merciful (Psalm 103:cool is also terrible (Deuteronomy 7:21). Our God is unfathomable.

In your relationship with God, there are also two sides: God’s side and your side. As you work out your salvation with fear and trembling, He works in you to do His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). If you say that because He is working in you, then you can continue to sin, expecting grace to abound, He will forbid that (Romans 6:1-2). Yes, He wants you to be with Him in a mansion in heaven (John 14:2-3), but if you don’t play your part to get to that mansion, you will end up in hell. I agree that Jesus Christ brought grace (John 1:17), but that same verse says that He brought truth along with it. If you reject His truth, which sanctifies you and keeps you holy (John 17:17), then you will not enjoy His grace.

Beloved, the side of God you see, and experience will depend on your actions and inactions. Walk in His truth and obey His commandments, and you will experience His favour and mercy abundantly in your life.

Christianity EtcTechnology Cannot Train Them by kpakpandoN(op): 8:20am On Aug 21, 2025
Thank God we can reach countless people around the world with the gospel through various technological devices and the internet. However, just as we are reaching many people with the gospel using technology, the devil is also using the same technology to reach people, including children. Many children now have access to pornographic sites through phones and tablets, and paedophiles manipulate children into immoral affairs through the internet. This is why, as good as technology is, parents cannot depend on it solely when it comes to raising their children.

When I was younger and there were no computers nor access to calculators, people had to do arithmetic by themselves. Nowadays, a lot of the younger generation cannot even calculate how much they are going to pay at a counter unless they use a calculator. If you are a parent, train your children not to overly rely on technology. Train them to do some things by themselves, and this will further enhance their natural abilities. These days, some children find it very difficult to relate properly with people they meet physically because they have become addicted to relating with people online. Also, some young children do not greet other people because they are always wearing headphones and engaging with their electronic devices. You must not allow technology to make your children socially deficient or emotionally handicapped. You must ensure that you encourage them to develop their natural gifts and talents while also teaching them to interact properly with the world around them.

It is really sad that some children are bullied online and are plunged into depression because of what someone online said to them. Parents must be vigilant. They shouldn’t depend on technology to keep their children occupied when they don’t want to be bothered; they just might be handing them over to the devil. Don’t delegate your children’s training and upbringing to technology. If you don’t know what your children are doing on their electronic devices at every instance, then you are depending on technology to train them for you, and trust me, technology was not developed to be a godly parent. Proverbs 22:6 says that you should train a child in the way he or she should go. Do the apps your children engage with daily know the way they should go?

Parents, spend time with your children and train them yourself. I pray that God will protect all our children from the devil’s agenda to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcYou Can Be Filled With More III by kpakpandoN(op): 1:16pm On Aug 20, 2025
Today, I will conclude this series by discussing pressure. The pressure in tyres varies with the weights they are designed to support. For example, the pressure in the tyre of a bicycle differs from that of a car. Both tyres are filled with air, but more air is pumped into a car tyre than into a bicycle’s tyre. This is because the weight that the tyre of a car supports is more than what the tyre of a bicycle supports. The tyres of an Aeroplane are just about the same size as those of a large truck; however, the pressure inside them is different. This is because an Aeroplane is much heavier, and when it lands, its tyres must be able to withstand its weight. If the air pressure in an Aeroplane’s tyre is lowered to that of a truck, the plane will crash as it lands.

How much you want to accomplish for God will determine how much of His anointing you will seek to be filled with. This is not about titles now, but about the real impact you want to have for God in the earth. The things a believer will accomplish for God are not dependent on church titles. Some bishops cannot deliver a small town from the devil’s hands, whereas some believers without any title can turn an entire country upside down for God. When it comes to accomplishing great and mighty things in God’s kingdom, what really matters is how much of the anointing a believer carries. God cannot perform mighty miracles or deliver communities and countries from powerful dark forces through believers who only carry low levels of the anointing.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
John 14:12

If you want to perform greater works as Jesus said, then you must be filled with the anointing to a very great degree. How much you want to accomplish in God’s kingdom should determine how much of the anointing you seek to be filled with.

Beloved, seek to be full of the anointing so that you can cause mighty revivals in your fields of operation, community, nation, and all around the world, just like Jesus, who went about doing good with the anointing.

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38

I pray that God will fill you with more of His anointing so you can influence the world with the gospel and take many territories for His kingdom, in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcYou Can Be Filled With More II by kpakpandoN(op): 8:33am On Aug 19, 2025
Today, I will continue my discussion about being filled with the anointing in various levels and degrees. The fact that a believer’s spiritual battery is very full today does not mean that it cannot still be fuller. There is actually no limit to how full your spiritual battery can be. 1 Corinthians 12:31 says that you should covet earnestly the best gifts. You must be very covetous when it comes to being filled with the anointing.

When you read 2 Kings 1:9-12, where Elijah called down fire to burn two sets of soldiers when they came to arrest him, you will know that he was full of the anointing. However, by the time you get to 2 Kings 2:9-15, Elisha told Elijah, “l want more than you have, sir.” Elijah was so full of the anointing that he could call down fire from heaven any time he wanted and shut the heavens so it would not rain for more than three years, yet Elisha wanted a double portion of that same spirit - and he got it! You also can receive more of the anointing than your spiritual leaders.

Beloved, you can be filled with the anointing to higher and higher degrees. Colossians 2:9 tells us that the fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Jesus. Jesus was really full of the Holy Spirit, yet He constantly separated Himself to get more of the anointing (Matthew 14:23). Anytime He performed a special miracle, He would quickly separate Himself to get more. The One who carried the fullness of the Godhead bodily constantly went apart to get more and more. One of the major reasons many ministers of God rise and fall is that as soon as they get to a certain height, they stop getting filled. They stop studying their Bibles like before and reduce their prayer times because they now have busy schedules. Every athlete knows that he or she must work hard to become a champion. However, to remain a champion, he or she must work even harder. This is the secret to continuous growth in God.

As long as you remain thirsty for more, God will pour more into you. When Elisha told the woman in 2 Kings 4:1-6 to borrow vessels, the oil kept pouring as long as there were empty vessels remaining. The more you yield to God, the more He will pour His anointing into you and make you a wonder to the world.

Christianity EtcYou Can Be Filled With More I by kpakpandoN(op): 8:27am On Aug 19, 2025
For a few days now, I have been discussing being filled with the anointing. Today, I will discuss the degrees to which you can be filled with the anointing and how charged your spiritual battery can be. As Christians, we all have the Holy Spirit, but one fellow can be filled with the anointing to a higher degree than another. This is why different Christians have different levels of authority in the Spirit.

To fully understand how a Christian can be filled with more of the anointing than others, I’ll discuss demonic possession first because demons are spirits. In Mark 1:23-24, the man Jesus found in the synagogue had only one unclean spirit – one demon is enough to cause so much havoc. In Luke 8:1-3, Mary Magdalene was said to have been delivered from seven demons; therefore, a man with one demon is possessed, and a fellow with seven is more possessed. When you read Matthew 12:43-45, you will see that if someone has one demon to start with, he or she could end up with eight because Jesus said that if an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it goes about looking for where to rest. If it can’t find any, it will return to its former house; if it finds the place empty, it will invite seven other demons inside to live with it such that the state of the possessed person will become worse. Also, when you read Mark 5:1-15, you will see the enormous capacity of the human soul to absorb spirits. The madman of Gadara had a legion of demons, which Bible scholars say is equivalent to as many as 6,000 demons. If a man can have 6,000 demons, then there is enough space in you to also absorb quite a lot of the anointing.

1 Corinthians 11:26-34 shows us that it is possible for a Christian to go deeper and deeper in God. There is always more in God for those who remain spiritually hungry. For every thousand cubits travelled in the spirit, there is still a lot more distance that can be covered. For every spiritual height attained, there is still much more that can be attained. This is why you must remain hungry because God only fills and satisfies hungry people (Matthew 5:6, Isaiah 44:3). I pray that God will fill you with more and more of His anointing every day, in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcAlways Refill VII by kpakpandoN(op): 7:24am On Aug 18, 2025
As I conclude this series, I want you to know that you can also be refilled spiritually through the Holy Communion. In John 6:48-51, Jesus said, “If you eat My flesh, you are eating the bread of life.” In other words, He was saying, “The bread of life is My body.” When you eat the body of Christ, you are eating a body that is full of virtue and the anointing of the Holy Spirit; you are taking all that virtue into yourself. If you take the Holy Communion worthily, there is no way your spiritual battery won’t be recharged. When the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, He said that virtue had gone out of Him (Mark 5:25-34). When you eat the bread, you are eating virtue because it symbolises the body of Christ.

The wine of the Holy Communion, which symbolises the blood of Jesus, contains the very life of Jesus (Leviticus 17:11). Colossians 2:9 says, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Therefore, taking His life into you by drinking the wine of the Holy Communion is taking in the fullness of the Godhead into yourself, provided you drink the wine worthily.

In ancient Yorubaland, if traditional medicine men were consulted to heal people who were really sick and were at the point of death, they would usually ask the relatives of the dying fellow to bring his or her clothes and an effigy that represents him or her, among some other things. They would then wear the fellow’s clothes on the effigy and take it to the centre of the town very late at night. If someone else sees the effigy as he or she is passing by, the sick fellow would live, and the one who saw the effigy will die. The elders would say that the life of the fellow who came out at night to see what he or she shouldn’t have seen has been substituted for the life of the dying fellow. This is an attempt of the devil to copy God’s principle of substitution.

Beloved, when you take the Holy Communion worthily, your weaknesses are taken away, and you receive the strength of Christ. You receive His life and substitute all your weaknesses for His unending, limitless power. Eat the flesh of Jesus and drink His blood regularly; He will recharge your spiritual battery and provide you with the strength and power to fulfil His purpose for your life.

Over the past two days, I have discussed God’s word and worship as ways to recharge your spiritual battery. Today, I will talk about another powerful way you can recharge your spiritual battery: praying in the Spirit.

If you want to talk to a man, you will connect better with him when you speak his language. The way to connect seamlessly with God is to talk to Him in His language: praying in the Spirit. I discovered early in ministry that if I spend time with God in secret, He will spend time with me in the open. If I wait upon Him before any programme, then He will show up! For example, whenever I’m preparing for the Holy Ghost Service, I make sure that I spend at least three days locked up with Him alone – away from my wife and children. I would wait on Him, praising Him and seeking His face for the programme ahead because Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” I would spend time recharging my spiritual battery by praying in the Spirit. After I have spent many hours with Him, day and night, even before I start preaching many times, He begins to work miracles.

Praying in the Spirit charges you up and helps you to remain on fire for God. Flies don’t like hot stoves. When a stove is cold, you’ll see them playing around it. However, when the stove is turned on, it becomes unapproachable for them. They won’t come near it because they can’t stand fire. When you pray in the Holy Ghost, you are setting yourself on fire, and anything linked with darkness cannot stay around you.

When you pray in the Spirit, you become energised, and this increases your spiritual fervency and sensitivity. As you pray in the Holy Ghost, you access mysteries in God’s heart because only the Holy Spirit knows the mysteries of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 tells us that through the Holy Spirit, we can know the things that have been freely given to us; praying in the Spirit brings us to the understanding of these things. These mysteries will help you to stay spiritually charged up for God.

Beloved, make a habit of praying in the Spirit, and if you are born again but cannot pray in the Spirit, ask God for the gift today.

Yesterday, I started a discussion about how important it is for you to recharge your spiritual battery by studying, memorising, and meditating on the word of God. Today, I’ll discuss worship as another way you can recharge your spiritual battery.

Many people allow the choir to do the worshipping for them in church during services. I thank God for all the spirit-filled choristers around the world who lead powerful praise and worship sessions, but they cannot worship God on your behalf. You must learn to worship God yourself. In Ephesians 5:18-19, Apostle Paul says:

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

The above Scripture implies that you should sing very often, even in your conversations with other people. Paul specifically says that you should sing hymns because they are inspired by the Holy Spirit. I thank God for the songs and choruses that we have today, but most of them fade with time. Many hymns, however, have stood the test of time; a lot of them were written hundreds of years ago, but they remain evergreen.

In John 4:23-24, Jesus said that God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth because the Father seeks such people to worship Him. When you are a worshipper, the Holy Spirit will seek you out. Worship means reverencing someone or something. When you worship God, you revere Him; you place Him in the highest position in your life. Everyone on earth is a worshipper; people worship one thing or the other. The way to know what a fellow worships is to check what he or she holds in high esteem. For instance, when people cannot do without checking their phones or scrolling through them, such phones have become objects of worship. When someone can do anything for money, that fellow is worshipping money.

Worship also means submission. You submit to whomever or whatever you worship. When you worship God, you are submitting and surrendering your heart to Him so that He can fill it with His power and glory. When you submit to God, He comes and dwells in you.

Beloved, make singing praises to God and worshipping Him your lifestyle. When you engage in these spiritual acts constantly, He will fill you with His Spirit and keep your spiritual battery charged at all times.

Over the past three days, I discussed the importance of always getting refilled with the anointing. Today and in the next few days, I will discuss ways by which believers can be refilled.

As God’s child, you must ensure that your spiritual fervency and passion for the things of God do not reduce. The word of God is a potent tool for recharging your spiritual battery, and this is why you must spend quality time studying, memorising, and meditating on the Scriptures daily.

Nowadays, many Christians do not memorise Scriptures because everything is now digital. If someone needs to refer to a Bible passage, the fellow can just search for it through Google and other search engines. Once the fellow types a bit of the verse as a search term, immediately, the passage comes up on the screen. While digitisation is good, it is important to meditate on Scriptures and know some of them by heart, as this will prepare you to face anything the enemy brings your way. In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus overcame the devil’s temptations by quoting Scriptures. There were no search engines at that time, and He didn’t need them – He knew God’s word by heart because He had meditated on them and memorised them. My Father in the Lord wasn’t formally educated, yet he knew a lot of Scriptures by heart. If he could memorise the Scriptures, so can you.

In John 6:63, Jesus said that the words He speaks to us are spirit and life. Therefore, the more of His words you take in, the more spirit-filled you will be. God’s word is powerful; it is alive and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). As you fill yourself with His word, He will show you things, relationships, and places that can quickly drain your spiritual battery and puncture your faith.

One way to know if you are really filled with God’s word is to check your conversations. Matthew 12:34 says that it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. If your heart is filled with God’s word, your mouth will be filled with His word too. The more you study God’s word, the more like Him you will become (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Beloved, become addicted to studying, memorising, and meditating on God’s word and you will be spiritually vibrant at all times. I pray that you will never lose your fervency and passion for the things of God, in Jesus’ name.

I will continue this series by discussing one more reason it is very important to get refilled with the anointing.

Sometimes, the reason you need to get refilled is not that you are exhausted or the anointing has been depleted after a period of intense spiritual activity but that your flesh rose above your spirit for a moment. When you are angry, for instance, you may not hear God speak because your flesh has risen above your spirit. In such a period, you can cause some harm, as Elisha did in 2 Kings 2:23-24. Therefore, if you have been well-trained by God, the anointing will likely be dormant for that season to avoid causing a problem that you will later regret.

In 2 Kings 3:11-16, some kings came to meet Elisha, and he got angry with one of them. Afterwards, when he needed to prophesy, he had to call a minstrel to play so there could be a refilling. Before long, the man of God could say, “Thus saith the Lord” again. I have observed that whenever the flesh rises above the spirit, there will be a need to retreat into an atmosphere of worship. In that atmosphere, as the Lord descends on you, He will refill you again.

Another major route through which the flesh rises above the spirit in many ministers is in the area of overconfidence. Despite Jesus’ warning that he would deny Him, Peter felt so confident in himself that instead of praying for spiritual strength to avoid that, he told Jesus that he could never do such a thing, and he eventually denied Him (Matthew 26:69-75). Whenever you start feeling overly confident in your abilities and attributing what you have achieved to your hard work and sacrifices, the enemy is setting you up for a great fall, and you need to retreat and retrace your steps.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

Beloved, whenever your flesh rises above your spirit, run to God and ask for mercy, and He will graciously restore you. After Jesus’ resurrection, He went to Peter’s old place of work to refill him. He prepared a meal, fed him, and recommissioned him into the ministry (John 21:1-17). When your flesh rises above your spirit, go on a retreat and receive a fresh infilling of the anointing so that you can overcome the weaknesses of the flesh and fulfil God’s purpose for your life.

Yesterday, I started a discussion about the importance of getting refilled with the anointing after moments of intense spiritual exercise. Another time you need to get a refill is when you are exhausted. In 1 Kings 19:5-8, when Elijah was tired, having been on the run from Jezebel, he told God to kill him. God said, “No, I don’t bury my wounded; I feed them. When they are weary, I refill them.” He gave him food to eat, and Elijah ate and fell asleep again. Interestingly, the man who said ‘kill me’ didn’t say ‘I’m not eating.’ God woke him the second time and gave him a second ration. Clearly, what he needed was rest and food to continue the journey. After eating, Elijah went in the strength of that food for forty days and nights. When you refill, you have the capacity and strength to go farther in God.

In Luke 9:1-10, after the disciples returned from the missionary journey that Jesus sent them on, they gave Him great news about all the things the anointing did. Then, Jesus took them aside to a private place so they could rest. When virtue leaves a fellow, it has an impact on the body; if that fellow does not rest, he or she may become too weak to do more. Jesus knew this, so after performing many miracles, He would retreat to solitary places to refill, as I mentioned yesterday. He could consistently do great works because He always took time out to refill. He said that His followers would do greater works than He did (John 14:12), and this means they must also refill constantly as He did.

If you load a battery into a torch light and use it for one hour, you should allow it to rest for another hour so that it will last much longer, rather than using it continuously. Similarly, if you always take out time to rest appropriately, you will be able to do much more for God.

Beloved, do not think you are indispensable such that you keep using your spiritual battery even when you know that you are exhausted. You might discover the hard way, like Elijah, that there are others who can easily take your place (1 Kings 19:15-16). Find those people now and train them so that they can join you in doing some of the work. Don’t always wait until you are exhausted to get refilled, and if you are already exhausted, take a retreat now to get refilled.

In 1 Kings 19:1-4, after Elijah had called down fire on Mount Carmel, lots of virtue had gone out of him, and he needed to refill. He had just won a victory, and a revival had started, but he got down from the mountain to discover that Jezebel was as unrepentant as before. However, because the anointing upon Him was now depleted, he couldn’t stand to face her, so he fled.

Sometimes, people do mighty things with the anointing, thinking that is all, but not long after they are done, they discover that more things that need the anointing are waiting. A fellow can raise the dead in church, and people will rejoice; however, when that fellow gets home, there may be another problem waiting to be solved with the anointing. This is why it is important to recharge your spiritual batteries as soon as possible every time you use the anointing.

Many pastors host programmes, and when hosting the programmes, they fast and pray. However, the moment the programme is over, they begin to feast and do not allow God to refill them with His anointing. By the following Sunday, people discover that it is not the same fellow who ministered the previous Sunday that is ministering because the anointing had been depleted and had not been refilled. Fasting and all other ways to become filled with the anointing are not to end when programmes end; they are to be a lifestyle. After periods of high spiritual activity where a lot of the anointing is used up, it is important to be refilled to at least the level that you were before, if not even higher.

Beloved, you must remain vigilant and sensitive at all times because you have an enemy who never takes a break. He always goes around like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:cool. Have you just had a great victory? It is not time to let your guard down; it is time to return to the secret place to recharge and refill. It is time to guard your heart with all diligence so you can remain fit and relevant for God’s next agenda. The Bible recorded many instances where Jesus retreated to refill. For example, after a major ministration in Mark 1:34, the next verse says that He retreated into a solitary place to pray. He’s our perfect model, and we must do the same to remain relevant in God’s kingdom.

Christianity EtcDon't Allow Discouragement by kpakpandoN(op): 7:45am On Aug 11, 2025
In Numbers 11:4-17, the Israelites were murmuring and weeping, saying, “We want meat; we are tired of eating manna.” They had been murmuring consistently for 40 years, and Moses had been coping, but this time around, he told God, “I didn’t give birth to these people. Why are You asking me to carry their burden? Kill me because I’m tired of all this.” God replied, “Since you say the burden is too much, get me 70 men, and I’ll take of the spirit on you and put it on them.”

When you think about the fact that the anointing upon Moses was divided by 70, you’ll realise that the new Moses was less anointed than the previous one. Because of this, not long after that, in Numbers 20:7-12, the man God Himself described as the meekest man on the earth (Numbers 12:3) erupted in anger. The anointing that had allowed him to cope for 40 years had been depleted due to his words during a time of discouragement. Discouragement can make people say things that would limit them in life and negatively impact their destiny.

Elijah also allowed his words in a time of discouragement to put an abrupt end to his ministry. After calling down fire on Mount Carmel, Jezebel threatened him, and he fled. He became so discouraged as he ran away that he asked God to kill him. Thankfully, God didn’t fulfil his wish; instead, He sent an angel to feed him (1 Kings 19:1-cool. Afterwards, however, He gave him his last assignment to anoint Jehu, Hazael, and Elisha, his replacement (1 Kings 19:15-16). His ministry ended when he allowed discouragement to make him say the wrong things. John the Baptist also got so discouraged that he began to doubt everything he had earlier declared. He had declared concerning Jesus, “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Yet, he was the same person who sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the One to come or should we look for another?” (Luke 7:19-20). Not long after that, he was beheaded (Luke 9:7-9).

Beloved, while you cannot stop discouraging circumstances from happening, you can choose how to respond to them. Like David, you can encourage yourself in the Lord, as seen in 1 Samuel 30:6. God is able to keep you from falling (Jude 1:24). He is also able to give you a mighty turnaround, but you must put your trust in Him. He is more than able to see you through any discouraging circumstances that may come your way.

Christianity EtcAvoid Leakages by kpakpandoN(op): 8:04am On Aug 09, 2025
Over the past few days, I have been discussing being filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit. If a person can be filled, it then means there is a possibility of being empty. Talking about the possibility of emptiness brings me to the possibility of leakages. There are various ways to empty a container; one is to pour all its content out at once, and another could be to puncture the container so that the content begins to leak until it is totally drained.

Most times, when satan wants to attack a believer who is full of the Holy Spirit, he doesn’t launch an all-out attack. The devil is wary of the impact of the anointing; therefore, when he wants to attack such believers, he looks for subtle ways to empty them of the anointing. He looks for little cracks in their lives that he can exploit to cause them to lose the anointing gradually until they become empty – then, he strikes.

Believers who toy with sin will first experience a leakage of the anointing, and if they do not repent, it will ultimately lead to death (Romans 6:23). A believer might still be functioning in the gifts of the Spirit, but if he or she is involved in secret sins, the anointing will begin to leak. The problem with leakage from a container is that the time it is discovered is usually when the remaining content has become too little to be useful or when the container is totally empty; by then, it is already late. When Samson said, “I will arise and go out as before” (Judges 16:20), he didn’t know that the anointing had departed from him. The discovery that the anointing is gone often happens when the devil has achieved his goal, and it can only take the special grace of God for the believer to be restored.

…it is high time to awake out of sleep…let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Romans 13:11-12

Beloved, if you have been toying with sin, this is the time to wake up. Those toying with sin are courting destruction. Nobody may know what you are doing in secret, but God knows, and you can be sure that the devil knows too. Solomon spoke about little foxes that spoil vines in Songs of Solomon 2:15. If you have been committing secret sins, please deal with them now before they destroy you.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psalm 23:5

David was talking about the overflow of the Holy Spirit in the Scripture above. Overflowing with the Holy Spirit and the anointing is God’s desire for all His children. In John 7:37-39, Jesus Christ said that those who are thirsty can come to Him and drink. He said that out of their bellies will flow rivers of living water – not one river but rivers – that is a tremendous overflow of the Holy Spirit. Peter overflowed with the Holy Spirit because even his shadow healed the sick (Acts 5:14-16). Elisha also overflowed with the anointing so much that the flow continued after his death, and his bones raised the dead (2 Kings 13:20-21). There is no limit to how much of the Holy Spirit you can carry because God wants you to be filled to overflowing.

In 2011, a woman shared a testimony in Dublin. She said she had heard that when the barren sit on chairs that I have sat on, they would become pregnant. So, she attended one of our programmes but could not get to sit on the chair I sat on because it had been taken away before she got to it. She was sad, but suddenly, she had an idea, “He was standing at the pulpit preaching; there must be part of the anointing on the pulpit too.” So, she went to the pulpit and began to rub her stomach against it. She became pregnant that month, and when she delivered, she gave birth to triplets. The Holy Spirit had overflowed through me so much that there was enough power on the pulpit to make the barren fruitful.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit can overflow through you too. You can be so filled with the Holy Spirit that whatever you touch will carry the anointing. However, for that to happen, you must be drunk with His infilling. No matter how filled you are with the Holy Spirit, you must continually long for more. You must make it a habit to spend quality time in His presence to the point where you will stop being conscious of time. I pray that as you spend quality time in God’s presence, He will fill you to overflowing with the Holy Spirit and power.

Christianity EtcOverflow With The Holy Spirit I by kpakpandoN(op): 6:20am On Aug 07, 2025
When people are filled with alcohol, they become drunk. God, however, does not want this for His children; rather, He wants them to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). On the day of Pentecost, the disciples were so full of the Holy Spirit that those who saw them thought they were drunk. In truth, they were overflowing with heavenly wine called the Holy Spirit.

Drunk people don’t see things the way others do. A drunk can look at a refuse heap and see a majestic bed. Likewise, when someone is filled with the Holy Spirit, he or she can look at a crippled man and see him running about. When I moved to the campground that has now become Redemption City, my colleagues at the university thought I had gone crazy. They saw a jungle, but I was seeing a city. Now, everyone can see the city that I saw some decades ago.

Drunk people are not in control of their actions; they do whatever the alcohol influences them to do. If it influences them to sleep on a highway, they will gladly do so without thinking of the dangers involved. Likewise, when you’re drunk with the Holy Spirit, you’re no longer in control of your life. You will go wherever He asks you to go and do whatever He asks you to do. You won’t argue with Him when He tells you to do something. I believe you haven’t been taken over by the wine of the Holy Spirit if you still struggle with obeying God’s instructions. Before Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit, he could do whatever he wanted; at one time, he even denied Jesus. However, when the Holy Spirit came upon him on the day of Pentecost, he started preaching the gospel and never stopped until God called him home. One time, when some people threatened him not to speak about Jesus, he boldly responded, “We cannot but speak of the things we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20). Despite the persecutions he faced, he refused to stop speaking about Jesus.

Drunkards are never satisfied with a previous day’s drunkenness, so they return to the bottle daily. When you are filled until you overflow with the Holy Spirit, you will keep returning for more. The more He fills you, the more you will want Him, and the more of Him you have, the more your life will overflow with His miraculous power. Beloved, ask God to fill you with His Spirit every day.

Christianity EtcOverflowing Mercy by kpakpandoN(op): 7:26pm On Aug 06, 2025
Many of God’s attributes can be seen in the Bible and one of them is that He is merciful. Ephesians 2:4-5 says that He is rich in mercy, and this means that He has more than enough for everyone; hence, He can never run out of it. The Bible also says in Psalm 62:12:

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy...

The Scripture above tells us that mercy belongs to God. When something belongs to someone who loves you, you can rest assured that he or she will give you that thing anytime you need it. This means that as long as you belong to God, you will always enjoy His mercy.

Mark 1:40-45 tells the story of a leper who came to Jesus and said, “If you will, you can make me clean.” In other words, he was saying, “I know you are merciful, but I don’t know if that mercy extends to me. If you will have mercy on me, then I know I will become clean.” Jesus didn’t get angry at him; He reached out to him and touched him. In those days, it was forbidden to touch a leper, but when mercy shows up for a man, it breaks human protocols. Jesus also corrected the leper’s wrong mindset. He told him, “I will; be clean.” Jesus showed him that mercy is always available to those who come to Him. God never withholds His mercy from those who cry out to Him for it. When Blind Bartimaeus cried for mercy in Mark 10:46-52, Jesus heard his cry and responded. When a father cried for mercy concerning his son who was tormented by a devil, Jesus responded and delivered the child (Matthew 17:14-18). When the Canaanite woman cried for mercy concerning her daughter, even though it wasn’t yet time for the Gentiles to experience God’s merciful gift of salvation, Jesus responded, and the girl was made whole (Matthew 15:22-28). In the name above every other name, I pray that God’s mercy will locate you and make you whole in all areas of life.

God’s mercy is great. Psalm 57:10 tells us that His mercy is great unto the heavens. However, as great as God’s mercy is, it is only available to those who genuinely repent of their sins, surrender their lives to Jesus, and make a commitment to living a holy life. Only those who fear God will partake of His overflowing mercy (Psalm 103:11).

Christianity EtcOverflowing Praise by kpakpandoN(op): 6:45am On Aug 06, 2025
In 2 Samuel 6:14-16, David praised God with all his might and danced with total abandon. This is a classic example of overflowing praise; no wonder God blessed Him beyond measure. When we overflow with praise towards God, He gives us blessings that are beyond measure. When you praise God, you please Him, and when you please Him, He makes even your enemies to be at peace with you (Proverbs 16:7). No wonder David never lost a battle; his overflowing praise always made God silence all his enemies before him. When you go out of your way to praise God, He goes out of His way to shower you with abundant blessings.

To really give overflowing praise to God, you cannot set limits to your praise; you have to praise Him without ceasing. This means that you keep praising Him everywhere you go and while going about your daily activities. This also means that your major preoccupation throughout all your days should be to give Him praise continually. This is why every time people see me, they notice that my mouth is always moving – I am always singing choruses to praise my God. I remember one time I travelled outside Nigeria; I went to a bookstore to buy some books. While picking the books, I was singing praises to God. A white man came into the bookstore, saw me, and made a joke about my singing. We laughed, shook hands, and as he was about to leave, he said, “Wait a minute, it is gone!” Apparently, he had been suffering from a backache for years. The moment I shook his hands in that mood of worship, the backache disappeared. If you want to experience constant miracles everywhere you go, even when you are not expecting it, then you should be giving God overflowing praise.

Those who give God overflowing praise do not wait for Him to do anything for them before they praise Him. They praise Him in season and out of season. Just the fact that they get up from their beds in the morning is enough reason to give Him praise. In return, God ensures that He meets their needs even before they ask so that they can put more time and focus into praising Him. Before any trouble comes, He settles it so that the flow of praise does not stop.

Beloved, make it a habit to praise God everywhere you go, and He will beautify your life with His abundant blessings.

Christianity EtcOverflowing Health by kpakpandoN(op): 12:01pm On Aug 05, 2025
God’s will is not just for us to be healthy but to overflow with health. You can be so healthy that when sick people touch you, they will become healed. The Lord Jesus was overflowing with health, which is why the woman with the issue of blood simply touched the hem of His garment and was healed (Matthew 9:20-22).

Years ago, a teenager who had sickle cell anaemia and had been sick all his life stood up to give a testimony in church. He said, “I heard that Daddy G.O. is coming to this church next Sunday. I want to testify that I will be healed next Sunday.” Somebody called me to tell me the teenager’s testimony, and I started praying that God would allow me to meet him. As God would have it, the young man was standing outside as I got to the church and came out of my car. He didn’t look like a teenager at all; he looked so tiny. He came to me and said, “Daddy, I’ve been sick all my life, but I am confident that since you have come to this church today, I will be healed today.” I hugged him and said, “It will be unto you according to your faith.” I got his letter some months later, and he wrote, “Dear Daddy, I want to thank God, and I want to thank you. I have been healed since the day you came to our church.”

Beloved, Jesus didn’t just die for you to be healthy; He wants your health to overflow such that any sick person you lay hands on will become healed and healthy. He said in Mark 16:17-18:

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

In 1 Peter 2:24, the Bible says that Jesus paid for your health; this is why you must hate sicknesses and diseases passionately. Just as Peter’s shadow healed the sick (Acts 5:15) and handkerchiefs taken from Paul’s body drove out diseases from people (Acts 19:12), God wants you to overflow with health and become a channel of healing and health to others. I pray that you will live in constant health all the days of your life and that the healing anointing will flow through you to others, in Jesus’ name.

Christianity EtcOverflowing Wealth by kpakpandoN(op): 11:28am On Aug 03, 2025
God doesn’t just want you to be rich; He wants you to overflow with wealth. In 2 Chronicles 1:6-15, the Bible records that Solomon had so much wealth that he made silver and gold as common as stones in Jerusalem. Even though he only asked God for wisdom to rule Israel, God gave him great riches in addition to the wisdom.

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psalm 35:27

God truly derives pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. He can decide to make you overflow with wealth, but He will not do it for someone who is selfish. When He gave Solomon overflowing wealth, it was because Solomon did not ask for something for himself; rather, he asked for something for God’s people. God will not give you overflowing wealth if you’re not committed to His people and His work on the earth. If all you want to do with wealth is to spend it on yourself and your family alone or show off before people, God will not give you access to overflowing wealth.

When God knows that He can trust you to use the resources He gives you to advance His kingdom on earth, He will bless you with abundance. He blessed Abraham with overflowing wealth and made him great because He could trust him and because He knew he would be a blessing to the whole world (Genesis 18:17-19). Can God trust you with overflowing wealth?

I travelled to Gibraltar at one time, and I was having a nice time looking at tourist attractions like the Rock of Gibraltar and so on. Suddenly, I saw something that affected my happiness – there was a mosque built there with millions of pounds sterling. When I asked, I was told that only a few people use the mosque, and only one person funded the construction of the building! I turned to God and asked, “Lord, what is this?” The answer I got from Him was, “You people are too slow! Particularly you Nigerians. Some of you are even afraid to prosper. When you pray, ‘O God, prosper me, all you are asking for is one million naira. You don’t have a vision to take the whole world for Jesus Christ.”

Beloved, when your heart is ablaze with a burning passion to advance God’s kingdom, He will not hesitate to give you overflowing wealth.

Christianity EtcThe Foolishness Of Sin by kpakpandoN(op): 9:32am On Aug 02, 2025
Before I became a Christian, I thought I was clever, I had become a university lecturer, so I thought I knew quite a bit. I was also a sportsman, but I was often down with malaria. I was earning a good salary as a lecturer, and because l was afraid of the traffic in Lagos, I employed a driver. I would pay him his salary at the beginning of the month, but by the middle of the month, I would be borrowing money from him to buy fuel. Things were hard because Isaiah 3:11 says that God has ordained hardship for sinners. I am sure that if you go through the medical records at the University of Lagos Health Centre, you’ll see how large my medical file was because I, my wife, and our children were always getting sick. However, since I surrendered my life to God, I and my family have been healthy. By His grace, I have been healthy since 1973 to date.

I stopped wasting money when I stopped sinning. Before I became born again, you would find all sorts of alcoholic drinks in my house. Whenever my colleagues came visiting, they would say, “We can’t pass in front of the palace without saying hello to the king.” They actually came to drink because I was the king of alcohol. After I became born again, they would come, and if they requested alcoholic drinks, I would say, “I’m sorry, I don’t have that anymore; I only have soft drinks.” They would get offended, and little by little, all my old friends disappeared, and God replaced them with brothers and sisters in Christ. Once you start living a holy life, things will turn around for good in your life.

Sin always takes more than people bargain for. When Joshua led the Israelites to conquer Jericho, everything went smoothly because there was no sin in their camp. However, the moment Achan took the accursed thing, Israel started experiencing defeat. The little country of Ai dealt with them so much that they had to run from the battlefield (Joshua 7:1-4). Sin brings disgrace and dishonour to sinners.

Beloved, it is foolish to engage in sin. Keep God’s word in your heart so that you can overcome the temptations that surround you (Psalm 119:11) and flee from every appearance of sin and evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). I pray that the Almighty God will give you the grace to overcome every temptation, in Jesus’ name.

There is something very interesting about shadows; there can be no shadows except there is light. If everywhere is totally dark, there will be no shadows.

Malachi 4:2 calls Jesus the Sun of righteousness. If you read John 5:2-9, you will see the story of a man who had been sick for 38 years and had been forsaken by everybody. All of a sudden, while he lay helplessly on the ground, a shadow was cast over him. When he lifted up his eyes, he saw the Sun of righteousness. Not long after, he was on his feet and was found in the temple (John 5:14).

The madman of Gadara became free from demonic oppression when he encountered the Sun of righteousness (Mark 5:1-15). The woman with the issue of blood didn’t have any hope of healing and restoration until she came under the shadow of the Almighty. Her twelve years of pain, disappointment, and sorrow ended the moment she encountered the Sun of righteousness (Mark 5:25-34).

In Psalms 84:11, David described God as a sun and a shield. As the Sun, He drives away every darkness from your life and gives you victory and wholeness, and as the Shield, He protects you from all evil and preserves your soul. David experienced God as his sun and shield when he was running from Saul. No wonder he said in Psalm 37:40 that God will help and deliver His people from the wicked because they trust in Him. Only those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High can abide under the shadow of the Almighty and boast of this kind of deliverance (Psalm 91:1).

The secret place of the Most High is a place for intimate conversations with Him; it is a place where you can build intimacy with Him. Also, in His secret place, He reveals mysteries to overcome the enemy. Elisha knew the secret conversations of the king of Syria because he had an intimate relationship with God (2 Kings 6:8-12). If you want to abide under Christ’s shadow, then you have to dwell in His secret place.

Beloved, are you dwelling in the secret place of the Most High? Only those who live a holy life and prioritise spending quality time with God can dwell there. Sinners cannot dwell in the secret place; therefore, if you’re not yet born again or you’re still toying with sin, repent now and come under the shadow of the Almighty.

Christianity EtcThe All-sufficient God by kpakpandoN(op): 6:39am On Jul 30, 2025
The first record of God introducing Himself in person to man by His name was in Genesis 17:1, and He said, “I am Jehovah El-Shaddai.” This is often interpreted as The God who is more than enough.’ However, some Bible scholars have said there is a deeper meaning to the name as it also describes God as an inexhaustible source for our nurturing. This implies that God is saying, “You can draw everything you need for growth and a fulfilling life from Me.”

My God is the All-sufficient One. David said in Psalm 23:1, The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want!” Philippians 4:19 says that God will supply ALL your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. The Bible says further in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.” These and many more Scriptures give me the assurance that if I am linked with the All-sufficient One, it is impossible for me to lack.

God daily loads us with benefits (Psalm 68:19) – He gives us benefits every single day! When He wants to supply your needs for a day, He can use various methods. In 1956, I was living with an uncle in Ilesha, a town in Western Nigeria. He was a drummer whose only source of income was whenever people invited him to play the drum. When he doesn’t receive any invitations, no money comes in, and we will starve. On a particular day, both of us were hungry, and we hoped that somebody would come and invite him to drum. After a while, a girl came to us with a big bowl on her head, dropped it, and said, “My sister said I should give you this food.” My uncle said, “I don’t know your sister.” The girl replied, “Well, my sister knows you,” and she turned around and left. Immediately after she left, we opened the bowl and found pounded yam and chicken stew in it. We had been starving, so we descended on the food without delay. As we were breaking the chicken bones, the girl came back and said, “I’m sorry, I came to the wrong house,” but it was too late. When God wants to supply your needs, He can divert blessings that do not seem to be yours to you.

Beloved, never worry about your needs. Trust and obey the All-Sufficient One, and you will always have all you need and more.

Christianity EtcYour Future by kpakpandoN(op): 10:01am On Jul 29, 2025
Over the past two days, I discussed the relationship between your past and present. Today, I will conclude the series by discussing about your future and how your present will impact it.

As a believer, your future is secure because only God controls the past, the present, and the future – He is Alpha and Omega. This is why Colossians 1:27 says, “…Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Furthermore, Isaiah 3:10 says, “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him…” These are promises from God, assuring you that your future will be alright.

Your future can be categorised into two: your future on earth and your future in eternity. If you’re a genuine Christian, you shouldn’t worry about tomorrow because God has promised to take care of you here on earth. In John 14:13, Jesus said that if you ask anything in His name, it will be given to you. He said in Matthew 7:9-11 that even in our wicked state, we humans would never give our children stones when they ask for bread, so how would we not expect Him to give us every good thing that we ask Him for? As long as you are His child, God has promised that you will lack no good thing here on earth.

God has also promised to take care of you when you leave the earth. In John 14:1-3, Jesus said:

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

As a genuine child of God, when you leave this world, a mansion in a city made of pure gold is waiting for you in heaven (Revelation 21:18)

Beloved, if you haven’t given your life to Jesus Christ, you are in the kingdom of darkness, and you are courting double jeopardy. On earth, satan will have the right to make a mess of you because you belong to his kingdom, and in eternity, you will be in the lake of fire, far away from God, who is the source of all peace, joy, and light. If you haven’t given your life to Jesus, turn to Him right now because, outside Him, your future will be terrible (Isaiah 3:11).

Christianity EtcYour Present by kpakpandoN(op): 6:39pm On Jul 28, 2025
Today can be regarded as tomorrow’s past. Just as your past experiences and choices gave birth to your present, the experiences and choices of today will give birth to your tomorrow. Therefore, you must be mindful of how you live your life today to birth a great future for yourself. Ephesians 5:15-16 tells us that we should walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. In the next verse, the Bible tells us what it means to walk circumspectly.

“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:17

To walk circumspectly is to walk in wisdom. It is to allow God’s wisdom to fill your heart so you can have a deep understanding of what God’s will is and do it.

Esau is an example of someone in the Bible who didn’t walk in wisdom, and this affected his future negatively. He was the firstborn son of Isaac and Rebecca, and as the firstborn, he was entitled to his father’s blessing. His future was looking very bright until one day when he went to the field to hunt for meat. He returned home hungry and met his brother, Jacob, cooking. Esau allowed his hunger to becloud his reasoning and accepted Jacob’s offer to trade his birthright for a plate of food, as we see in Genesis 25:27-34. He didn’t know that the birthright he carelessly sold was tied to the blessing that was waiting for him in the future. Because he despised his birthright, the blessing fled from him. You must live in such a way that you don’t eat your tomorrow today. Don’t be like Esau, who couldn’t see beyond his immediate want and allowed a temporary hunger to cause him to lose a permanent blessing.

Another fellow who didn’t walk in wisdom and allowed his foolish actions to destroy his future was Reuben. Reuben was the firstborn son of Jacob, and as the firstborn, he had every right to inherit the blessing. However, he was unwise, and he slept with his father’s concubine. He allowed his temporary desire to cheat him and his descendants of the great blessing he should have inherited. When his father was about to die, instead of receiving blessings, he and his descendants inherited curses (Genesis 49:3-4).

Beloved, choose to walk in wisdom by living strictly according to the word of God at all times so that you and your children can reap good fruits in the future.

Christianity EtcYour Past by kpakpandoN(op): 9:42am On Jul 27, 2025
The past can be regarded as the mother of the present. Whatever you are going through today can be traced to the things that happened in the past. You might be going through some negative things now because of some of your past mistakes, but the good news is that the One who is called Alpha and Omega can clear out your negative past. He can wash off the mistakes of the past with His blood (1 John 1:7). This is why 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that if a man is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become new.

No matter the events that have happened in your past, the moment you come to Jesus, He gives you a brand-new start. He enters into your past and rearranges everything to work for your good. God doesn’t need a minute to travel into your past to correct anything. In Revelation 1:8, He says:

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

God is Alpha and Omega, and He can go back to the day of your naming ceremony, the day of your birth, or even the time before your birth to change things in your favour.

Some people have problems today because of the names they bear. Some of these people were given names to reflect the circumstances that surrounded them or their families at the time of their birth. For instance, if someone is named Esugbogo (meaning ‘satan is glorified’ in the Yoruba language), such a person cannot blame satan for tormenting him or her because the fellow’s name literally invites satan to glorify himself over the fellow. Such people have very little that they can do about the things that happened before their birth or how they were named, but there’s someone who can go back to that time and change situations. God can go into your past to change things that don’t fit into His plans and purposes for you.

Beloved, God holds the key to your past. Cry out to Him today to change anything in your past that is contrary to His purpose for your life, as Jabez did in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. I pray that my Father will remove every negative thing in your past that might be haunting your present and give you a brand-new beginning, in Jesus’ name.
