Today, I will conclude the teaching I started two days ago by discussing humility as another way of attracting God’s help. Psalm 10:17-18 makes us understand that God listens to the desires of the humble and delivers them from every form of oppression. This means that if you want God to arise for your help in any area of your life, you must be in a state of total surrender to Him. Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”. When you present your body as a living sacrifice to God, it means that you have surrendered completely to Him, and He now has total control over your life.

In 2 Kings 5:11-12, Naaman was about to lose his miracle because of pride. He felt that a man of his social and financial status should be treated in a special way. If not for the fact that his servants advised him to obey the prophet of the Lord by dipping himself in River Jordan seven times, he probably would have died as a leper.

Child of God, whenever you come before your heavenly Father, do not consider whatever wealth or achievements you might have. Rather, you should always approach the Almighty God in total surrender so you can receive His help. I have walked with God for some decades now, and one of the things I can say about Him is that He hates pride. In fact, He said in James 4:6 that He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. This tells us that God is always quick to help the humble. David’s humility made him enjoy God’s help countless times in his lifetime. He never argued with God; rather, he saw himself as a mere work of creation before Him (Psalm 8:4). As a result, God continued to help him until he died at a good old age, full of riches and honour (1 Chronicles 29:28).

Beloved, if you want God to arise for your help, you must surrender your life totally to Him. You must acknowledge Him as the Owner and Controller of your life, and when you go before Him in prayers, you must totally disregard your social or financial status. With utmost humility in your heart, make your requests known to God, and I can assure you that He will arise and help you, even beyond your wildest imagination.

Today, I will be discussing how God’s children can attract His help by serving Him willingly, joyfully, and wholeheartedly.

In Genesis 18:1-10, when Abraham saw three men passing by his tent, he ran to meet them and invited them to take a break from their journey by resting under the shade of a nearby tree. Even though they were complete strangers, he voluntarily offered to host them, and by so doing, he unknowingly hosted God’s presence. Abraham’s hospitality must have prompted God to arise for him and heal the barrenness he was experiencing in his marriage. Those who serve God voluntarily always attract His help.

One day, someone asked me, “Sir, what do you think about instrumentalists who insist on being paid by churches before they minister with their instruments? Should they be paid?” I replied, “No one pays for the same service twice. If they insist on being paid before they minister, the church should pay them. However, they should not expect any special blessing from God for their service because the church has already paid them.” If a fellow insists on being paid to serve God, such a fellow should not expect any special help from God on account of that service. A son who asks his father to pay him before he will wash the father’s car cannot expect to enjoy the same benefits as the one who serves the father willingly and joyfully. One of the reasons I enjoy God’s help today is that I left everything to serve Him when there was nothing enticing, humanly speaking, about working for Him.

There is a difference between serving man and serving God. With a man, it is possible for a fellow to get away with eye service and even get promoted, even though he or she is not serving willingly from the heart. However, God sees the heart, and if anyone serves Him unwillingly, He does not owe such a person any reward.

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
2 Corinthians 12:15

In the Scripture above, Apostle Paul expressed his willingness to spend and be spent for the work of God, not only because he loved God but also because he loved the people whom God had sent him to. Beloved, if you want to attract God’s help, serve Him willingly and wholeheartedly. He is faithful, and He will never forget your labour of love (Hebrews 6:10).

It is very important for children of God to know the things they can do to attract God’s help. The Bible is filled with several accounts of how people attracted God’s help, and over the next few days, I will be discussing some of these accounts and things you can do to attract divine help.

In 2 Kings 6:1-7, the sons of the prophets were felling wood by River Jordan when the axe head of the axe that one of them was using fell into the river. The man cried to the man of God for help, and God stepped in to remedy the situation. God helps those who cry to Him for help. In Psalm 3:4, David said, “I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.” Also, in Mark 10:46-52, Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, and despite attempts by some people around him to shut him up, he refused to be silenced. As a result of his persistent cries for help, Jesus had mercy on him, and he received his sight.

Sometimes, when I see people praying nonchalantly, I wonder if they really want God’s help. If you really want to receive help from the only One who can truly come to your aid, you must shun pride and approach Him humbly for help. (2 Chronicles 7:14) says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

I remember when I just joined The Redeemed Christian Church of God. During a service, somebody on the altar said, “Praise the Lord,” and the fellow who was sitting beside me shouted ‘Hallelujah’ so loudly that I almost ran out of the church. Beloved, don’t let anything prevent you from being fervent in the things of God. When it is time to praise Him, dance with all the strength within you. Also, when it is time to pray, let your focus be on Him alone. When you are in the presence of your Maker, nothing else should matter. Believe me, God is still in the business of performing miracles as He did in the days of old. If you humbly cry out to Him in prayers, He will indeed arise to help you.

Years ago, I travelled to Port Harcourt, a city in the South-South region of Nigeria, to hold a crusade, and God specifically told me who I was to stay with. I obeyed the Lord, but I wondered why He chose this person because he was not a member of our church; we were just acquaintances, and I had many spiritual children I could have stayed with in that city. When I arrived at the fellow’s home, he treated me like a king. He also introduced me to his children, and I got on very well with them. One of them clung to me closely, and I started calling him my friend.

On the second day of the crusade, I was preparing to go to the crusade venue when my host drove in from his children’s school. I saw his other children with him, but I didn’t see the one I called my friend, so I asked after him. To my shock, he replied, “Your friend is in the hospital, dying.” He added that he would not have told me if I had not asked, because he saw that I was preparing to go to the crusade venue. Immediately, God told me, “This is why I asked you to stay here.” I then said to him, “We will go to the hospital first. The crusade will wait.” We went to the hospital, and I saw the boy sweating profusely even though he was completely naked in an air-conditioned room. I was told at that point that he had been poisoned in school. As I looked at the doctor, he signalled to me that there was no hope for the boy. Since God had earlier told me that He orchestrated my stay with the family for that reason, I simply said a short prayer and left for the crusade. After the crusade, I returned to the man’s house, and as I was settling in, he drove in with my friend. He had been discharged from the hospital!

Beloved, as you see in Psalm 65:9-13, many good things will happen to you when God visits you. However, He cannot visit you and give you those good things if you have not given your life to Jesus Christ. If you are not yet born again, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and surrender your life completely to Him. When you do this, He will make you a part of His family and visit you with many tremendous blessings.

Job 10:12 shows that God’s visitation brings life and preservation. When God visits a fellow, things begin to change positively in his or her life. His visitation always leaves a lasting mark in the lives of those He visits.

In 1 Samuel 16:1-13, God told Samuel to go to Jesse’s house to anoint the next king. When he got there, Jesse presented all his sons to him, except David. This shows the extent to which David was disregarded by his own family. However, the Almighty God had arranged a divine visitation for David while he was busy looking after his father’s sheep. God instructed Samuel to anoint him in the presence of his family members, and from that day on, things began to change positively in his life.

And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 28:13-14

In the Scripture above, the Almighty God visited Jacob, and from that day on, the blessings of the Lord became evident in his life. He became prosperous and continued to find favour in the sight of God and man.

When God visited Sarah, she laughed for joy, and those who heard her story rejoiced with her (Genesis 21:1-6). God also visited Hannah, and her years of barrenness and sorrow vanished (1 Samuel 1:19-20). Likewise, when He visited Joseph, his years of suffering, slavery, and hardship vanished overnight; he woke up as a prisoner but ended the day as Pharaoh’s second-in-command (Genesis 41:14, 41-44). The day God visited the man at the pool of Bethesda was the day he walked. Before then, he had been paralysed for 38 years (John 5:1-9).

Beloved, my Daddy specialises in making the impossible possible. If you are stuck in what seems like a hopeless situation, cry out to Him today and ask for a divine visitation. Inasmuch as you are His child, He will heed your cry and cause a positive turnaround in your life. I pray that God will visit you today, and every impossibility in your life will become possible, in Jesus’ name.

Sometime ago, a woman came to the church, saying, “Please, help me, I don’t know what to do. My husband keeps wandering aimlessly at night without being in full control of his senses.” We led her to Christ and prayed with her. Shortly after, she was promoted at her workplace and got a new car. As she couldn’t drive, she begged her husband to drive her to church so that her pastor could bless the car. He agreed and told her that he would only drive to the church premises, but he wouldn’t enter the building. He did so and sat in the car while his wife entered the church building. As he sat in the car, he could hear the sermon being preached. After some time, an altar call was made, and he went inside the church to give his life to Christ. Some weeks later, the devil attacked him while he was driving to work. He lost his senses immediately and began to drive around aimlessly until the Holy Spirit took control and instructed him to drive to the church. When he got to the church and stepped out of the car, people could tell immediately that something was wrong with him. They sprang into action and helped him into the church. We prayed for him, and God took control of the situation. God knew beforehand that trouble was coming for the man, and if he hadn’t become born again, he would have gone mad. Therefore, He arranged for a place where he could turn to in the day of trouble. I pray that every plan of shame the enemy has arranged for you will be cancelled today, in Jesus’ name.

In John 2:1-11, a couple was getting married, and Jesus was invited to the feast. Everything was going well until they ran out of wine. They had not even started their lives together, but they were already experiencing a crisis and were on the verge of being put to shame. Thankfully, Jesus turned what would have resulted in shame into honour, as they later had more than enough good wine to serve their guests.

Beloved, Romans 10:11 says that whosoever believes in God will not be ashamed. If you are currently in a shameful situation, put your trust in God and cry out to Him. He will heed your cry and turn your shame into a testimony, in Jesus’ name.

There was once a young boy whose idol-worshipping parents took to an Ifa priest – a traditional spiritualist – when he was born. Their intention was to find out what would become of him in the future. When they got to the priest, he looked at the baby and said, “You had better take this boy to Jesus Christ.” On hearing that, his parents got upset and said, what kind of nonsense is this? How can an ifa priest recommend Jesus? Something must be wrong with you.” As they took the boy away from the place, he suddenly fell sick and subsequently suffered poor health all through his childhood. His parents took him everywhere in search of a solution, but the boy kept falling sick. One day, someone told the boy’s parents to bring him to one of our programmes. They brought him to the programme covered in all kinds of charms. As I was preaching, I suddenly noticed a little stir in the congregation. After the service, I enquired about what caused the commotion earlier, and I was told that, during the service, the boy’s mother removed his shirt and hung it on a chair because the sun was scorching hot, and the heat became unbearable for him. Shortly after, a snake came out of the boy’s shirt while I was ministering. The power of God came down heavily and dealt with every evil force that was working against the boy. The snake was killed, and the boy received total deliverance from sickness. I pray that God will uproot anything He has not planted in your body, in Jesus’ name.

Acts 9:32-34 tells us about a man, Aeneas, who was bedridden for eight years. He must have had different types of bedsores for those eight years since he couldn’t move by himself and must have been at the mercy of everyone around him until Peter visited his hometown, Lydda. On seeing him, Peter commanded him to arise and make his bed. Imagine someone who couldn’t move from his bed by himself for eight years suddenly rising up to make his bed and move around.

Beloved, God can make long-lasting illnesses disappear in the twinkling of an eye. Therefore, if you are sick or have a loved one who is sick, call on Him today, and He will reverse that sickness and turn it into good health. I pray that God’s power will destroy any illness that might exist in your body and give you divine health, in Jesus’ name.

In John 5:2-9, a certain man, who had suffered from an infirmity for 38 years, had an encounter with Jesus. From his response to Jesus Christ’s question, it was clear that he had lost all hope, but Jesus reversed his hopelessness when He commanded him to take up his bed and walk. In an instant, the 38-year infirmity disappeared, and his hopelessness vanished. I pray for you today that the Almighty God, who can reverse hopeless situations, will visit you today, and you shall receive a miracle, in Jesus’ name.

When God wants to turn a fellow whom the world seems to have forsaken into a living testimony, He will arrange a divine encounter for the fellow. He will work it out in such a way that everyone around him or her will know that He is definitely at work.

Several years ago, I was travelling to Ilesha, a town in South-West Nigeria. Along the way, I saw a car that seemed to have broken down. As I approached it, I saw that it had an RCCG sticker on it. On taking a closer look, I saw that the person standing beside the car was a church member whom I knew. I also saw that she was pregnant. I asked her, “What’s wrong with your car?” Immediately she saw me, she exclaimed, “Daddy! Is it really you I’m seeing? Oh God!” I asked her again, “Is there a problem with your car?” She replied, “Sir, don’t worry about the car. I have a bigger problem.” She then went on to tell me that the baby in her womb had not moved for the past six days, and the doctors had told her that they were going to evacuate the baby. After listening to her, I said, “In that case, I decree, baby, come back to life, in Jesus’ name.” Immediately, the baby started moving again. A few years ago, I visited one of our parishes in Europe, and that same baby whom the doctors wanted to evacuate from the woman’s womb was the one playing the drums.

Beloved, I want you to know that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). If you are currently in the midst of a situation that seems hopeless, I want you to put your trust in the One who makes rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). He will bring you out of that hopeless situation and give you victory where defeat seemed certain, in Jesus’ name.

In Luke 5:1-10, Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. Even though he toiled throughout the night he had nothing to show for his efforts. However, God turned his failure into an instant success by arranging a divine encounter for him. After hosting Jesus in his boat, he caught so many fishes that his net broke. As he couldn’t handle the size of his catch alone, he had to beckon to other fishermen to help him. Instantly, his failure was reversed, and he experienced a great turnaround.

When my mother was alive, I used to travel to Ilesha, which was very close to my hometown in western Nigeria, to visit her every two weeks. On one such visit, I was about to eat when a man was brought inside the house. At first glance, I thought he was a madman, based on his appearance. However, I learnt that he was a highly educated man who used to be very wealthy before the enemy attacked him in a very strange way. He had a problem that no doctor on earth could handle. He told me that insects of all kinds usually come out of his body at regular intervals, and he had spent everything he had seeking a solution to this spiritual attack. He had also sold all his clothes and had resorted to wearing rags. Thankfully, God had mercy on him and arranged a divine encounter for him. When he told me his story, I asked him, “Will you give your life to Jesus Christ?” I explained to him that his battle was one that only God could help him win. He gave his life to Jesus Christ, and we prayed a simple prayer before he left.

Two weeks after that incident, I went back to llesha to visit my mother as usual. Again, as I sat down to eat, a handsome, well-dressed man walked into the room. As he saw that I could not recognise him, he said, “It seems you don’t recognise me.” I replied, “I don’t think we have ever met.” He then responded, “I was the one you prayed for two weeks ago. Look at what God has done in my life in just two weeks!” Beloved, I pray that any cycle of failure in your life will be reversed for good, and you will begin to enjoy cycles of blessings and miracles, in Jesus’ name.

Whenever God wants to reverse the irreversible, He usually follows a process, which typically starts with a divine appointment. What this means is that He will divinely arrange for people to meet one another.

There was once a 50-year-old man who had no wife simply because he couldn’t bring himself to ask a woman, “Will you marry me?” The enemy bound him so tightly that he couldn’t open his mouth to talk to any lady he was attracted to, even though he was highly educated. He knew he had a problem, but he didn’t know how to be free. Fortunately for him, God instructed us to hold a programme in his town. During the programme, he gave his life to Jesus Christ. Not only did Jesus save his soul, but He destroyed the yoke in his life, and six months later, he got married. Nine months after he got married, his wife gave birth to a set of twins. Two years later, she gave birth to another set of twins. The man’s story is proof that no bondage is too strong for God to break. I pray for you today that any yoke that might be troubling you will be destroyed, in Jesus’ name.

In Luke 13:10-16, Jesus went to the synagogue as was His custom. However, on this particular day, He met a woman who had been bound by the devil for 18 years. She was bent over in such a way that she couldn’t stand upright. For 18 long years, she was limited in every aspect of her life. Despite the terrible bondage the woman was in, she met with Jesus at the synagogue and got her freedom. The yoke of bondage that had kept her captive for so long was broken, and she was free to lift her head and hands to praise the Lord.

Isaiah 10:27 says, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Therefore, I decree in the name that is above every other name, that whatsoever might be keeping you from lifting your head God will cause you to have a divine encounter that will deliver you completely from anything that might have kept you bound, in Jesus’ name.

Years ago, a woman, who was waiting on God for children, kept going to her pastor for prayers. After a while, the pastor said, “I’ve prayed for many people who were looking for children, and now, they have their children. Why is your case different?” The woman then revealed that she had once tried to terminate a pregnancy, but the procedure went wrong, and in order to save her life, the doctors removed her womb. On hearing this, the pastor asked in shock, “You’ve had no womb all these while, yet you kept asking me to pray for you to have a child?” From that day on, the pastor started avoiding her. When she noticed this, she turned to God and said, “I won’t go to my pastor anymore. I will come to You, my Maker.” Shortly after that, she had a dream one night. In the dream, she was naked, and as she stood in a spot, a huge man approached her with an animal’s skin in his hands. On getting to where she was standing, he wrapped the animal’s skin around her belly and disappeared. That experience signalled the end of her barrenness. The last time I heard about her, she had given birth to five children!

God can reverse the irreversible. In Genesis 21:1-2, He reversed the deadness of Abraham and Sarah’s bodies and gave them a child after many years of barrenness. Likewise, in 1 Samuel 1:4-20, He remembered Hannah and opened her womb. In 2 Kings 4:8-17, the Shunammite woman saw Elisha passing by and compelled him to come to her house to eat. She fed him on many other occasions and built him a small chamber in her house to host him whenever he passed by. When God decided to visit her, Elisha told her that she would have a son, and she told him not to deceive her. That was a clear sign of unbelief, but the Almighty God bypassed her doubts and gave her a son because of her heart of service.

Beloved, are you expecting the miracle of a child or fruitfulness in any area of your life? Keep serving the Lord and honoring Him. Hold on to His word, and you will never be disappointed. I pray that He will reverse any form of barrenness in your life and cause you to be fruitful in all areas of your life, in Jesus’ name.

In 2 Kings 2:19-22, the men of Jericho approached Elisha to tell him about the problems in their city. The city had problems because it had been placed under a curse by Joshua (Joshua 6:26), who had long been dead. After his death, the curse continued in full force until Elisha arrived on the scene and dealt with it from its roots. Regardless of how powerful a curse is, God has the power to reverse it and change it into blessings.

In Genesis 49:5-7, Jacob was on his deathbed when he cursed Simeon and Levi. He said that they would be scattered in Israel. However, in Numbers 3:11-13, the Almighty God said to Moses, “I have decided in my sovereignty to make Levi my firstborn.” In His sovereignty, God reversed Jacob’s curse on Levi and turned it into honour.

When a fellow is cursed, he or she often begins to experience hardship, suffering, pain, sickness, poverty, etc. The devil operates freely in the life of anyone who is under a curse. This is why, if you notice that a curse is at work in your life or family, don’t keep quiet about it. Rather, cry unto the Lord and trust in His power to deliver you completely. He longs to deliver you from anything that might have kept you from operating in the fullness of His plans and purposes for your life. Jesus Christ has delivered you from the curse of the law, as you see in Galatians 3:13. He can overrule any curse that might have been placed on you by anyone and reverse generational curses, turning them into generational blessings.

In 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, the Bible says that Jabez was an honourable man. However, because of his mother’s negative pronouncement over him, he was labelled as someone who causes sorrow. Her words were a limitation over his life, and this must have eventually driven him to cry to the Lord, saying, “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!” God granted him his request and reversed the curse that was on him.

Beloved, if you are under any generational or parental curse like Jabez, I want you to cry to God to deliver you today. He is the only One who can reverse the irreversible. Run to Him today, and you will experience total deliverance.

Yesterday, I discussed how God is able to suspend or reverse natural laws to perform miracles. The Almighty God can sometimes override some laws with superior laws. For example, if a magistrate pronounces a person guilty in a magistrates’ court, and that person appeals to a high court, a judge can rule that the magistrate erred in his or her judgement and annul it. God is the supreme authority in heaven and on earth, and He can override any natural law, including the law of death.

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
John 11:43-44

In the Scripture above, Lazarus had been buried for four days, and according to the law of death, he must have started to rot and stink. However, Jesus applied a higher law – the law of resurrection and life – to override the law of death and decomposition by saying, “Lazarus, come forth!” Immediately He gave that command, the one who had been dead for four days came back to life. The Almighty God is able to reverse the power and effect of death.

When a person dies and begins to decompose, that person’s blood becomes blackish, and his or her skin begins to decay. For Lazarus to have been raised from the dead, it meant that his decaying flesh and blood, which must have become blackish, had to be restored to their normal states. The law of resurrection and life overrode the law of death and decomposition. I pray that the law of resurrection and life will overrule and nullify anything death might have set in motion in your life, family, and business, in Jesus’ name.

In Luke 7:11-17, a widow lost her only son to death. She had earlier lost her husband, and now, her only son lay lifeless and was about to be buried. She was in a sorrowful state, but when the Resurrection and the Life appeared on the scene, He turned her mourning into joy. She, who must have been an object of pity in the town because of her losses, became a celebrity because of her miracle. Beloved, I pray for you today that my Daddy will turn every dead situation that has affected your life negatively into a cause for celebration, in Jesus’ name.

God made laws to control nature and the universe. However, these laws, along with every other thing that was created, were also made for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11). Whenever He wants, He can suspend the laws or reverse them to perform a miracle.

In Matthew 14:22-32, Jesus persuaded His disciples to get into a ship and cross the sea to the other side while He went to a mountaintop to pray. By the time He came down from the mountain, the ship was already in the midst of the sea. Jesus then decided to suspend the law of gravity and walk on water to join His disciples. He didn’t cancel the law; He only suspended it for a moment.

In 2 Kings 6:1-7, the sons of the prophets were cutting down wood by River Jordan, and the iron axe-head that one of them was using fell into the river and sank. Immediately, the man cried to Elisha, telling him that the axe-head was borrowed. Elisha then cut a piece of wood and threw it into the river. The wood that was supposed to float sank, and the iron axe-head floated to the surface. The Almighty God reversed the law of floatation just to perform a miracle. Likewise, in John 6:1-14, Jesus reversed the natural principle that causes things to reduce when you take out of them because He wanted to perform a miracle. When He gave His disciples the five loaves of bread and two fishes to share with the multitude, naturally speaking, the meal was meant to reduce as it was being distributed. However, because He had raised them in thanksgiving to the Father, the loaves and fishes multiplied as they were being handed out to the people.

Beloved, thanksgiving is a very powerful weapon that can cause God to suspend natural laws or reverse them on your behalf while also positioning you for tremendous multiplication. When Jesus gave thanks in John 6:11, the law of multiplication overruled the law of reduction. While grumblers and complainers experience destruction because of their murmurings (1 Corinthians 10:10), you shall experience multiplication and glorification if you engage in constant thanksgiving (Jeremiah 30:19). If you want God to suspend or reverse laws for your sake, I encourage you today to remember all that He has done and appreciate Him joyfully. I pray that the Lord will send help to you from above and reverse every law that is working against His purpose for your life, in Jesus’ name.

It is popularly said that an opportunity lost can never be regained. However, this can only be true when God decides to be silent about such opportunities. The moment God gets involved, lost opportunities can be regained.

In the 1960s, I was a games master at a school called Okeigbo/lfetedo Grammar School. The school received an invitation to participate in a competition in Akure, one of the state capitals in Western Nigeria, and I got talking with the host school’s games master during the competition. Sometime later, I was admitted into the University of Lagos for my Master’s degree, and I applied to the Federal Government for a scholarship. When a year passed without a response from the Federal Government, I assumed that I didn’t get the scholarship, and I continued paying the fees myself. One day, while walking on the university campus, I saw the games master I had met in Akure over a year earlier. We got talking again, and he told me that he was now working with the Federal Ministry of Education. Then I said to him, “I applied for a scholarship with your ministry, and I did not get any response.” He then told me that he remembered my application because I was the only one who applied for a postgraduate scholarship in mathematics. He said it was a unanimous decision to grant me the scholarship, and that the interview would have been a formality. To cut the story short, he said that he would see what he could do about it, and we parted ways. Two weeks later, I got a letter from the Federal Ministry of Education granting me a full scholarship that was backdated to the day I started my Master’s programme. I decree that any good opportunity that you thought had been lost forever will be restored by the Almighty God, in Jesus’ name.

In Matthew 26:69-75, Peter had the opportunity to stand for Christ; however, he lost it when he denied the Lord thrice. He was so heartbroken that he decided to return to fishing (John 21:3). However, Jesus stepped in and gave him another opportunity, as we see in John 21:15-19. After the Lord’s intervention, the same man, who denied Jesus three times, boldly faced the rulers who killed the Lord and told them that he would not stop speaking about Him (Acts 4:8-13).

Beloved, have you lost valuable opportunities in the past? Ask God for mercy, and He will restore you and help you regain such opportunities.

God controls times and seasons, as we see in Daniel 2:21. As I mentioned yesterday, He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending (Revelation 1:. This means that He is in charge of the past, present, and future. If He wants, He can stop time like He did in Joshua 10:1-14, where He stopped the sun from setting. God is Almighty, and He can reverse the effect of time on a person or situation.

Many years ago, as I approached my 60th birthday, I became concerned that I was growing old, and it seemed like I was still very far from completing the assignment that God had given me. My children were really excited as they wanted to celebrate my 60th birthday with me; however, I was groaning and crying to God in prayers. I still remember the spot where I was, around 2am one morning, praying and asking Him for help. I told Him that I still had so much to do, and the sun seemed to be setting on my life already. God responded, saying, “Son, I decide when the sun sets.” Those words completely put my heart at rest. As you are reading this, I pray that the Lord will prove Himself mighty in your life.

In Isaiah 38:1-8, Prophet Isaiah told King Hezekiah that God would heal him and add 15 years to his time on earth. He also told him that God would give him a sign to prove this to him:

Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
Isaiah 38:8

Beloved, God can bring something from your past into your present. He can bring an opportunity that you think you have lost forever back to you. In Genesis 18:9-14. when God said to Abraham, “Tell your wife that she will have a son,” Sarah laughed. She laughed because it was humanly impossible for a woman of her age to conceive a child. However, God rebuked her and made her realise that He can restore what seems to be gone forever. I pray for you today that God will reverse time for your sake, and every good opportunity that seems to have been lost forever will be restored to you, in Jesus’ name.

God has many attributes. He is called the Almighty (Genesis 17:1), which means that He has all might and power and can do all things. In Jeremiah 32:27, He is called the God of all flesh to whom nothing is too difficult. Isaiah 40:28 tells us that He is the Everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. Psalm 115:3 says that our God is in the heavens and does as He pleases. In Revelation 1:8, He is called Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending. He is also called the One who was, is, and is to come. This means that in Him, the past, the present, and the future come together. He is the Almighty who reverses the irreversible.

A man once had problems with one of his kidneys and was spending #200,000 weekly on dialysis. For a kidney problem like his, the best solution doctors can proffer is a kidney transplant if they can find a suitable donor. Even with such transplants, success is not guaranteed. The man was sitting somewhere in the congregation during one of our services when the Lord said, “Receive your healing.” Instantly, he became healed. This is what only the Almighty God can do; He can reverse what men have deemed hopeless. I don’t know of any medication that can change an SS blood genotype to AA, but I have heard many testimonies of the Almighty God doing this. He alone can reverse the irreversible. As we read in Ezekiel 37:1-10, He can make dry bones live again. He alone can turn a completely hopeless situation around for the better.

The story of the dry bones in Ezekiel 37:1-10 also reveals the kind of people who will experience such miracles. The dry bones were completely helpless, but I have discovered, in my little walk with God, that He delights in helping the helpless. My God is the helper of the helpless; He is called the Ever-present Help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Beloved, if you are currently in a situation that seems hopeless, turn to God like David did and say, “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2). He will step into your situation and help you. I pray that God will reverse any situation that people have considered to be completely hopeless in your life. He will glorify Himself in such situations and give you a wonderful testimony, in Jesus’ name.

1. Lord, I thank You for Your church. Thank You for the gift of Your body and the godly communities of believers.

2. Lord, please strengthen every leader in Your church. Empower them with wisdom, courage, and determination to do the work of ministry and shepherd Your flock.

3. Father, please empower Your church to function as the salt of the earth indeed so that everyone who comes into the church will begin to experience sweetness in their lives, in Jesus’ name.

4. Father, please sanctify Your church. Help us to be a true reflection of Your holiness to the world, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, please banish every form of darkness and evil from Your church, in Jesus’ name.

6. Father, please provide for the needs of Your church. Supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory, and empower us to do Your work, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, please let Your Love flow mightily within Your church. Help us to love one another fervently with pure hearts, in Jesus’ name.

8. Father, please help those who are living in hypocrisy within Your church to repent. Help them to truly surrender to Your word, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, please uproot false doctrines and ungodly traditions from Your church. Let the faith of Your people be based on Your undiluted word, in Jesus’ name.

10. Father, please empower faithful ministers of the gospel to preach Your word without fear. Deliver them from wicked men and laws that can limit them from preaching Your word with boldness, in Jesus’ name.

11. Dear Lord, please arise and help all the persecuted churches around the world. Strengthen their faith and help them not to deny You, in Jesus’ name.

One of my spiritual sons, who is from a very wealthy home, had cancer of the jawbone. He had access to the best doctors in Europe, but after they had treated him for a while, they told his parents to take him back home to Nigeria because he had just two weeks to live. His parents were devastated. When they arrived in Nigeria, they decided to bring him to Redemption City, and my faith was shaken when I saw him. The boy had trouble eating because of his illness; his head was terribly swollen, and it usually took him about an hour to finish a bottle of soft drink. I pulled myself together, prayed for him as is expected of a pastor, and God healed him. This happened 43 years ago, and to the glory of God, he is still alive today, married with children. God gave him a testimony that is still valid today. I pray that God will give you a permanent miracle, in Jesus’ name.

One of the most amazing things that happens when God visits a man is that He brings permanent solutions. Mark 10:46-52 tells the story of a blind man named Bartimaeus. When he was told that Jesus was coming, he knew he would never beg again. That was why he threw his garment – the symbol of his shame, darkness, and blindness- away. I am sure that the moment he received his sight, he never begged again – his testimony was permanent. Some people have had miracles and lost them. Some have received something precious from God but have lost it out of carelessness. In the name that is above every other name, the testimony God will give you will last forever.

Beloved, the only way the miracles and testimonies you receive from God will be permanent is when you flee sin. John 5:1-14 tells us the story of a man who had been sick for 38 years; Jesus healed him, and he was happy. However, when Jesus saw him again, He warned him not to engage in sin anymore because if he did, something worse could happen to him. When someone who has been delivered by God from the path of destruction jumps back into sin, the devil can torment and torture that fellow as he pleases. If you have gone back into sin, return to Jesus today and ask Him to save you. He will graciously restore you when you return to Him wholeheartedly.

In some cultures, kings often greet their subjects by saying, “Peace be multiplied unto you.” In Daniel 6:25, when King Darius was writing to all his subjects after Daniel had escaped the lions’ den unhurt, he started his letter with, “Peace be multiplied unto you.” Also, in the New Testament, each time Apostle Paul wrote to the various churches, he would start by greeting them, “Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father” (Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:2, Galatians 1:3). Likewise, Peter, in his letters, often wrote, “Peace be multiplied unto you” (1 Peter 1:2 and 2 Peter 1:2). All of these greetings make us understand that peace can increase, and it can be multiplied. Even if you feel that you already have peace and there is nothing to worry about, you should always pray that your peace will be multiplied. If peace can bring so much rest, multiplied peace can bring much more.

Years ago, I was returning from Britain to Nigeria on the same flight as a great man of God and his wife. According to his testimony, which I heard later on, he told his wife during the flight that since Daddy G.O. was on the plane with them, there was absolutely nothing to worry about. When we were halfway through the journey, the plane encountered severe turbulence, and the entire cabin began to shake. According to the man of God, he got up at that moment, looked at where I was seated on the plane, and saw that I was fast asleep. He then returned to his seat and told his wife that there was absolutely nothing to worry about because “Daddy is sleeping.” He said that seeing me sleeping at that moment multiplied the peace he already had.

When you experience multiplied peace from God, every form of trouble or fear will be far from you. In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” I pray that the peace of the Lord will be multiplied unto you today, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, the secret to enjoying multiplied peace from God is revealed in Psalm 119:165 – loving Him and His law. If you indeed want your peace to be multiplied, you must love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37), and obey His commandments at all times.

Yesterday, I stated that serving God wholeheartedly and honouring those whom He has placed over you is a channel through which you can carry His fire. Today, I will discuss another thing that can make you a carrier of God’s fire – your level of hunger and thirst for Him.

In Exodus 33:7-11, God spoke face to face with Moses in a pillar of cloud in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and Joshua was with him. After Moses’ conversation with God, he departed from the tabernacle, but Joshua stayed behind because he was so hungry for God’s presence. While others were enjoying the comfort of their tents, Joshua remained before the Consuming Fire, and I am sure that he was communing with Him and seeking His face. In Numbers 27:18, God attested to the fact that he was a man “…in whom is the spirit…” and instructed Moses to lay hands on him.

Elisha was another person whose hunger attracted God’s fire. The moment Elijah put his mantle on him, he left everything and followed the man of God (1 Kings 19:19-21). When it was time for Elijah to be taken away from him into heaven, he told him to ask for anything he wanted. At that time, Elisha had become so hungry to see greater manifestations of God’s glory that he wanted to do greater works than his master. He didn’t care about material things; his only hunger was for God. When Elijah heard his servant’s request, he replied, “You have asked a hard thing, but if you see me while I am being taken away, it will be as you have asked” (2 Kings 2:9-10). Being on a long journey would have made many other people tired and sleepy, but Elisha was not. His hunger kept him awake and aware of everything that was happening around him. His heart was fixed on what he wanted, and this was what made him see the chariot of fire as it appeared, and Elijah being taken up into heaven by a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11-12).

Beloved, no matter who lays hands on you, the fire of God will not come upon you if you are not hungry and thirsty for God’s presence and glory. Even though a piece of wood has the potential to catch fire, it will not catch fire if it is not dry. Only those who are hungry and thirsty for God’s presence and glory will receive His fire to do exploits in their generation.

When a piece of wood is set on fire, it burns. Similarly, a fellow who has given his or her life to Jesus Christ can burn for Him, and the fire that burns in such a believer is the power of the Holy Spirit.

There are two ways by which a believer can catch fire: directly from God, just like Moses and Elijah, or through other people who have caught the fire of God and have become fire carriers. For example, Joshua received his fire from Moses (Deuteronomy 34:9), and Elisha received his from Elijah (1 Kings 19:19). Joshua was called Moses’ servant (Joshua 1:1), and wherever Moses went, he was there to serve him. While Joshua served Moses faithfully, the latter laid his hands on him, and he received the spirit of wisdom. If you feel like you are too important to serve those whom God has placed over you, it means that you are not ready to carry the fire of God. Serving Moses could not have been easy, but Joshua willingly paid the price. In Exodus 24:13-18, the Bible says that he went with Moses to Mount Sinai, where they stayed for 40 days and nights. He served Moses wholeheartedly, and when Moses laid his hands upon him, he transferred all the honour and grace he had to him (Numbers 27:18-23). This is why, as a child of God, you must honour those whom God has placed over you.

Elisha was another person who received God’s fire through honour and service. People knew him as the man who poured water on Elijah’s hands (2 Kings 3:11). Despite his wealthy background, he was willing to stoop very low to honour and serve God’s prophet, Elijah. While the other sons of the prophets were busy predicting what would happen to Elijah (2 Kings 2:3), Elisha was busy following the man of God and serving him. Eventually, he received a double portion of the anointing that was upon Elijah.

Beloved, if you want to be a carrier of the fire of God, you must serve Him wholeheartedly and be willing to also serve and honour the anointed people He has placed over your life. I pray for you today: may you never become too proud to honour and serve those whom God has placed over your life. In the name above every other name, you will carry the fire of God upon your life and do mighty exploits in His kingdom.

2 Kings 7:3-16 tells us about how four leprous men rescued an entire city from its terrible economic situation. Before then, there had been a severe famine in Samaria for a prolonged time, and things got so bad that mothers began to eat their children (2 Kings 6:26-29). After a while, Elisha, God’s servant, proclaimed God’s word that things would change for good the very next day. Unaware of the prophetic word from the mouth of God’s servant, the four lepers, who lived outside the city gates, decided to take a bold step to go into the enemy’s camp. Their action paid off because God had caused the enemy soldiers to flee from their camp because they heard what sounded like a mighty army marching towards them. When the lepers entered the enemy’s camp, they found out that all the soldiers had fled and had left behind all their food and other supplies. They were amazed, and they ate, drank, gathered silver, gold, and other precious items. However, after a while, they stopped and questioned their selfishness:

Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
2 Kings 7:9

The lepers knew that it was a day of good tidings, so they refused to keep the good news to themselves. They reported their discovery to the king’s household, and that was how God’s word about a miraculous turnaround in the economic situation of the city came to pass the very next day. If you are a Christian, then you know that today is a day of good tidings. Jesus died and resurrected to bring us into a new day. Jeremiah 31:31 tells us about the days when God will make a new covenant with His people. These are the days of that new covenant; the days of God’s grace and victory over the nature of sin. If you are not sharing this good news and telling others about the wonderful works of God, you are denying them the opportunity of enjoying God’s blessings.

Beloved, God has saved you from satan’s bondage and freed you from his burdens. One way to appreciate Him for this is to become a habitual testifier of His goodness. Don’t keep the good news of Christ’s redemption to yourself.

When the Almighty God set the madman of Gadara free in Mark 5:1-20, He told him to tell other people about what God had done for him. As a result, the man began to go around, telling others about what Jesus Christ had done for him. One of the things God told me at one time was that I should tell His people that the more they testify, the more miracles they would get from Him. When God does something in your life, you should tell others about what He has done; do not keep the good news of His love and forgiveness to yourself. When the Samaritan woman who met Jesus by a well in Sychar encountered Jesus, she ran to tell everyone who would listen about her experience. She said, “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” (John 4:29).

A long time ago, I was going through a difficult time, and things were really tough for me. However, whenever people asked me how I was doing, I always told them that God was working overtime in taking care of me. I never stopped testifying of His goodness, and today, I am even bolder to say that God is working extra overtime to take care of me. I am never ashamed to share the good things that God has done for me.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4

People who worship idols invite others to join their cults by telling and showing them what they have received from the devil. They do not hide what they get from satan, even though his gifts always come with hidden and terrible consequences. The Scripture above tells us that if we hide the good news of the things that God has done for us, the people who are on the path of destruction will not receive salvation. When God does something in your life, you must not hide it; rather, share the testimony with other people unless He tells you otherwise. Tell your friends, co-workers, and neighbours about the goodness of the Lord this Easter season. Encourage them to taste and see that the Lord is good indeed (Psalm 34:.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invited us to lay our burdens on Him. A burden, in this context, refers to a difficult situation that a person must deal with. Often, burdens attach themselves to people against their will, and they cannot remove them on their own. In 1 Kings 17:10-12, the widow of Zarephath had little food left because Elijah had prophesied that there would be no rain or dew until he decreed otherwise (1 Kings 17:1). God pronounced the judgment through the prophet because of the king’s idolatry; therefore, the widow was suffering, not because she committed any offence, but because of the sins of the head of her nation, and there was nothing she could do to get rid of the situation.

In 2 Kings 5:1, the Bible tells us that Naaman was rich and famous; however, he was a leper. Leprosy was incurable in those days, and if money or fame could have solved his problem, he would not be in the situation he was in. If leprosy were something he could cut away with a sword, he would have destroyed it because he was a military general. However, he couldn’t do anything about it despite his wealth and influence. Beloved, have you been carrying a burden for a long time? Do you have problems that you cannot do anything about? If your answer is yes, I rejoice with you today because there is someone called the Burden Bearer; His name is Jesus Christ. I join my faith with yours that as you cry to Him for help today, He will answer you.

Sin is a heavy burden that crushes those under it. When the burden of sin is upon a fellow, the fellow will remain under the devil’s heavy yoke until he or she meets a stronger person who can remove the yoke. Mark 3:27 says that no one can enter a strong man’s house and steal from him without first tying him up. Jesus is the only One who can deliver those who are weighed down by the burden of sin (Matthew 1:21, Acts 4:12). Are you burdened by sin? Jesus is calling you today. He wants to deliver you and give you rest from the burden of sin if you surrender your life to Him. If you have not yet given your life to Christ, acknowledge Him as Lord and Saviour over your life. Once you do this, He will bear your burden and give you a new life in Him.

Sometime in 1980, there was a woman in RCCG who was trusting God for the fruit of the womb. Although we all prayed for the woman as a church, my wife and I took it upon ourselves to pray for her regularly on our family altar. Shortly after, she informed us that she was pregnant. On hearing the good news, we were really happy for her. We were dancing and singing praises to God on her behalf when she told us, “Somebody advised me to look elsewhere for a solution to my childlessness.” She continued, “The people I went to for a solution also used the Bible. However, they also performed some traditional rituals and asked me to participate in certain rituals as well. Look at the result now; I am pregnant.” This happened over four decades ago, yet the last time I heard of her, she was still pregnant.

There was another woman who also desperately wanted a child. She got tired of waiting on God, so she sought fetish means to find a solution to her problem. Shortly after, she became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy. After she had her baby, she told those who were still waiting on the Lord, “You better take action and get a solution to your problem like I did, instead of wasting your time praying.” When the woman’s son was about six years old, he went into her room one day, stripped himself naked, and said, “Let’s have sex.” The mother was shocked and asked him, “What did you say?” The boy responded, “I said I want to have sex with you.” The perplexed mother then took him to a deliverance minister. During the deliverance session, the boy said, “Don’t waste your time; I am not possessed. I am a demon incarnate.”

Beloved, do not seek any kind of help outside God. Those who seek other gods and alternatives to God will eventually end up in sorrow. Psalm 16:4 says that the sorrow of those who seek after other gods shall be multiplied. Those who seek help apart from God always pay dearly for it because the devil has nothing free to give. I implore you today to continue to tarry in God’s presence. Put your complete trust in Him because His help is on the way, and He will never disappoint you (Hebrews 10:35-38). I pray that the Lord will continue to uphold you and strengthen your faith in Him, in Jesus’ name.

Many years ago, I was visiting one of our parishes abroad, and when I landed at the airport, one of the pastors who usually came to welcome me anytime I visited the country was not there. When I asked about him, I was told that he was dying in a hospital. I asked if we could stop at the hospital on our way from the airport, and I was taken there immediately. In that hospital, they had a special room where people with ‘hopeless’ cases were kept. Once a patient was moved to that room, it meant that the fellow would likely not survive whatever ailment he or she had, and this was where the pastor was kept. He had cancer, and the doctors’ reports were not good at all. I prayed for him and commanded the spirit of death to take its hands off him. I didn’t pray for the other patients in the room because, in that country, you can be arrested for praying for a sick person when the fellow has not given his or her consent. After praying for the pastor, I left the hospital immediately. About three days later, he was completely healed and was discharged. It wasn’t my doing; rather, it was God who backed up my word with so much power. I learnt later that on the day he was discharged, every other person in the room was discharged as well. Imagine what could have happened if I had heard the sad report concerning him and just sympathised with him instead of declaring the word of God over him.

Child of God, you might not know the great miracles you are hindering if you refuse to speak God’s word to unfavourable situations. You must realise that you are not ordinary and your words carry power because you are a child of God. When you encounter a mountain in the way of your progress, speak to it in the name of Jesus, and it will obey you (Mark 11:23).

Revelation 1:6 says that you are a king, and Ecclesiastes 8:4 says that where the word of a king is, there is power. This means that whenever you speak, power shows up. Doubt is one of the major things that can stop power from showing up when you speak. Beloved, don’t keep quiet in the face of negative situations; speak God’s word over them in faith, and they will turn around completely for good, in Jesus’ name.

Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the word of God is living, active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. In Mark 5:2-15, Jesus spoke a word to a man who was possessed by a legion of demons, and immediately, the demons left him. In Acts 16:16-18, Paul did likewise. When a girl who was possessed with a spirit of divination kept following him, he commanded the demon to come out of her in the name of Jesus, and it obeyed. Your words can also carry power when they are backed up by the word of the Almighty God.

If you are a true disciple of Jesus Christ, demons will recognize who you are and be afraid of you because they know that you have the power to cast them out. In Acts 19:13-17, the seven sons of Sceva saw a demon-possessed man, and they commanded the demon to leave him in the name of Jesus whom Paul preached. The demon knew that they had no relationship with Jesus, so it disobeyed and attacked them. The devil knows that Jesus is the Light and that He has also made His children light. This is why he will obey you if you are a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

A young man once attended a meeting and returned home loaded with demons. His case was so bad that he couldn’t stand or sit; he could only lie on the floor. When he was brought to the church, I said, “I command you to kneel because I want to pray for you.” With a fiery look, he responded, “I can’t go on my knees.” I repeated my command, and he asked, “In whose name?” I replied, In the name of Jesus.” He obeyed immediately, and I prayed for him. Then, I said, “Stand up,” and he asked again, “In whose name?” I replied, “In the name of Jesus.” He then stood up immediately. Thereafter, I told him, “Go now. You are free in the name of Jesus.” He left, and that was the end of his problem.

Beloved, if you are a child of God, your words will be backed by the power in His word. When you tell a problem to leave in the name of Jesus, it has no choice but to obey you. Be conscious of the power in God’s word, exercise your authority in it by speaking it boldly in the face of challenges and oppositions, and you will always emerge victorious.

Every part of the life and being of a Christian who is totally surrendered to God is a potent weapon in God’s hands. For example, just as we see in Mark 6:53-56, clothes that are worn by people who have submitted their lives and all to God can become conductors of God’s power.

Jesus’ garment was full of power; the sick touched the hem of His garment and were made whole, as we see in Mark 6:53-56. In Acts 19:11-12, God performed special miracles through Paul, such that aprons and handkerchiefs that he had worn were taken to the sick, and they received their healing. Paul was not even among the first twelve apostles; he was a persecutor of the gospel of Jesus Christ until he was saved. However, after his conversion, God performed special miracles through him. God is a miracle worker, but He is looking for vessels – men and women – who will believe Him so that He can release His power on the earth through them.

Child of God, your heavenly Father wants His power to flow through you so He can establish His Kingdom wherever you are. However, before your garment (which signifies your life) can become a conductor of God’s power, your internal garment has to be pure. Ecclesiastes 9:8 tells us that our garments should always be white. This has nothing to do with always wearing white clothes; instead, it has everything to do with the heart. If a fellow’s heart is not surrendered to the Lord and is full of greed, that person’s garment cannot carry God’s power. Gehazi could have carried a double portion of Elisha’s anointing, but greed made him lose what could have been his spiritual inheritance (2 Kings 5:20-27). Judas could have been the one through whom God healed the man at the Beautiful Gate in Acts 3:1-11. God could have performed mighty miracles through him, just as He did with the other apostles, but greed made him end his life shamefully (Matthew 27:3-5).

Beloved, God wants you to be a conduit of His power like Peter and Paul. However, you cannot reveal His power when you are not surrendered to Him. If you are yet to surrender totally to God, I implore you to do so today so you can be a carrier of His power. I pray that the Lord will clothe you with His garment and make you a conductor of His power, in Jesus’ name.

In Mark 1:40-45, a leper came to Jesus, saying, “I know that if You want to, You can make me clean.” In those days, leprosy was deemed incurable; however, when the man encountered Jesus, he was immediately cleansed. In Acts 3:1-11, Peter and John saw a man who had been born lame, and Peter said to him, “…In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” When the lame man didn’t rise to his feet, Peter took him by his right hand and lifted him up. Immediately, the power of God flowed through Peter’s hands into the lame man’s bones, and he Jumped up.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:12

In the Scripture above, Jesus said that anyone who believes in Him will do greater works than the ones He did while He was on earth. If you are a child of God, you must know that your heavenly Father has anointed you with His power. This means that your hands are not ordinary – they have become God’s channel of healing, deliverance, and restoration. Jesus Christ has paid the price for pains and sicknesses, and that is why He said in Mark 16:17-18: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” This means that if you are a true child of God and you lay hands on the sick, they will recover. When you lay your hands upon them, God’s power will flow through your hands to heal them. I decree that from now on, when you touch the sick, they will be healed.

I usually tell Christians who are doctors, “Before you administer medications to your patients, obtain their permission to lay hands on them, then pray for them.” I also tell them, “You will encounter situations where there will be nothing more you can do for your patients medically. At those times, hand their cases over to the One who said, ‘I am the Lord that healeth thee.’”

Beloved, if you are a child of God, your hands are powerful because they have been anointed by God. Therefore, exercise your faith in Him by laying hands on the sick for their healing, and you will begin to see special miracles happen through you.

It is important for Christians to walk in signs and wonders if we are to win the world to Jesus. In John 4:48, Jesus said that some people will not believe the gospel unless they see signs and wonders. As a minister of light, you are God’s instrument for revealing His signs and wonders to the world, and He has already empowered you to perform miracles.

God seeks to perform special miracles through all His children, just as He did with Paul (Acts 19:11-12). If you are His child, He wants you to lay hands on the sick for them to recover. Some Christians doubt that the sick will recover if they lay their hands on them, and as a result, they don’t lay hands on the sick. God didn’t say that you should lay hands on the sick and cause them to recover; all He wants is for you to lay hands on the sick, and He will make sure that they recover. All you have to do is obey Him and leave the rest to Him. When you lay your hands on the sick, His power at work in you will flow through your hands to ensure that they recover.

To become God’s instrument for revealing His signs and wonders, faith is important. Those who obey Jesus’ commandments in faith always get the results that Jesus said they would get. As a young minister, when I read that I could lay my hands on the sick and they would recover, I started doing so secretly in my house. Whenever my children told me that they had a headache, I would take them to my room where nobody could see us, lay my hands on them, and say, “In the name of Jesus, headache, go!” However, I would also ensure that there was medicine for headaches at hand. At that time, my faith was little, but God always meets His children at their levels of faith. After praying in that manner, many times, they would become well in less than five minutes. Today, I can lay my hands on anyone when they are sick because I know that Jesus will not fail.

Beloved, God calls you the light of the world (Matthew 5:14), and He cannot lie. Therefore, be bold in your capacity as light and begin to shine forth. I pray that henceforth, God’s glory and wonders will shine more than ever before in your life, in Jesus’ name.

Light is powerful. It drives away darkness and reveals whatever is hidden. In John 9:5, Jesus said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 1:4-5 also says, “In him was life; and the life was the light and of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” These Scriptures confirm that Jesus is the Light. However, in Matthew 5:14, the same Jesus said to His disciples, “Ye are the light of the world…” God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19); hence, if Jesus says His disciples are the light of this world, if you are His disciple, then you are light.

James 1:17 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from God, who is the Father of lights. If our Father is the Light, then His children must be light. God expects you to shine, and in Matthew 5:14-16, He commands you to let your light shine so that men will see your good works and give glory to Him.

As a child of God, you are a minister of light, and this means that you must shine. God has called you an able minister of the new covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6); therefore, your life must reveal God’s glory and grace. In John 14:12, Jesus said that those who believe in Him will do the works He did and even surpass them by doing greater works.

When the light of God shines in a place, impossibilities become possible. We can see this in the life of Jesus Christ; wherever He went, miracles, healings, and deliverance happened in abundance. In John 9:1-7, He gave sight to a man who was born blind. Likewise, in John 5:1-9, He healed a man who had an infirmity for 38 years. He also healed some lepers in Luke 17:11-19, as well as a man who was possessed by a legion of demons (Mark 5:1-20). The Bible says in Matthew 4:23-25 that Jesus’ fame spread throughout Syria because of the great miracles He was performing. People saw Him as the Light and were willing to follow Him wherever He went.

Beloved, as a child of God, light is your identity, and this light must shine so brightly that it eliminates every form of darkness around you. I pray that the light of God in you will never become hidden, in Jesus’ name.
