JY01:ELDS, comprises of those frm states with poor education records, so their cut off is also like catchment zone, lower sha. |
amulet:both. |
did i just hear sombri say cut off for medicine is going to be 290, guy easy oo.. |
According to Dr Benjamin, “the JAMB has further explained the policy to redistribute candidates who have cut-off marks less than what their institutions of first choice required to needy institutions; that was done to assist the candidates and their parents,” noting that the ASUU UI chapter’s claim that it was anti-poor was not untrue. This was just as he described the union’s claim that JAMB would make about N1 billion as proceeds from candidates buying cards to check their redistribution status as unfounded, noting that checking was completely free. He called on parents and candidates to check the Board’s website from Thursday, July 30 for their names and institutions they are placed in. Deadline For 2016 Admission Process Announced As part of the decisions taken in the 2016 JAMB Combined policy meeting held yesterday, the closing date for all 2016 admission process is November 30th, 2016. Speaking after the meeting, Minster of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu who disclosed this equally warned institutions against going beyond their admission quota stating that institutions that default will face sanctions. According to him, admission by merit is 45%, catchment area 35% and educational development in less developed states 20%, for federal universities While fort state universities, admission by merit is 40%, catchment 40 % and less developed local governments get 20%,’’ He further warned institutions against admitting students into un-accredited courses in their institutions. |
IamLukas:its too far oo, and risky.. ppl might not even read again, viola uniben will just use jazz and release their pume form july 29th.. wetin we go write? |
emazion:i heard we can start checking the jamb website to knw our admission status and the institution we MAY be placed to frm July 30th. |
IamLukas:Ok thank you sir. |
RobinHez:yea true. But then jamb has to be flawless next yr to avoid protest and riot. But sir, do you think Uniben will peg their cut off mark @ 250? |
OP, r these fighter jets? |
Poorboy: |
IamLukas:Lagos aspirants plenty na.. Hmm, u have a point sha. |
juicydiceyjoe:hehe, bros i visited the site hoping to read ppl's comment since u said others have posted, getting there, i saw nothing. I dnt like being first to comment and also last to comment oo. My comment will be too lonely dia.. Hope u knw ppl visit a page just to read comments? Anyway try and post a write up on how youths can be made to have interest in our next oil(Agriculture). |
IamLukas:yea, but suprisingly the majority of candidates applying to uniben in the catchment zone are frm Edo. Candidates frm other catchment zones like delta, bayelsa will prefer to apply to their own university in their state, so less competition in catchment area.. They should kukuma make lagos catchment zone. |
juicydiceyjoe:not mobile friendly(i mean it does not load fast?) btw i didn't see any other comment there. |
JY01:then u construct speed brakes for ur browser. |
JY01:catchment area refers to those states that are close to the city/state a particular university is located at, and the cut off mark for appliccants coming frm these states is usually lower. It's in line with the admission policy of 35% for catchment zone. Catchment states for uniben are Delta, Bayelsa, Cross river, Akwa ibom, Edo, and Rivers. Thats why sometimes u see ppl with just 50 getting admitted first, ahead of another candidate with 53 going for the same course. Although the cut off mark difference is usually very negligible, just 2-3mrks. A serious minded student can never be displaced with catchment zone sha, Becos merit is always number 1. |
juicydiceyjoe:Providing soft loans to youths to start up their farms. Integrating agricultural empowerment scheme to the NYSC to encourage non-agriculture graduates. A form of internship should be available for all unemployed youths, where they can be posted to big farms across the country to work voluntarily, this can enable them learn the ropes and also increase their interest in agriculture. |
If this new policy stands, its going to be disastrous/favourable. 1Uniben and other top fed varsities will just push their general cut off mark to 250 regardless of the course you're going for, then later have departmental cut off marks like 260, 270 depending on hw competitive the course you applied for is.. This wont go down well with a lot of us oo.. Hw many even scored up to 250? 2 Uniben can choose to maintain 200 as a GENERAL cut off mark, and later have departmental cut off. This could be the only favourable option. 3 Many aspirants that were affected by Jamb's irregularities wont find this funny at all, cos they depend on the pume for admission. 4 Catchment area will now play a keyrole in the admission process. There are many considerations oo, this decision cannot be final. Best thing to do now is to continue studying! |
IamLukas:Unizik. |
lol, that kind moment.. This yr just get as e be. We have to remain calm sha, I believe we're going to hear more news about it.. |
so u shade in CBT exams? kwantinue. |
OP, sorry for ur loss, many ppl r really abusing pay on delivery service. OP dont go out of business, learn frm this experience and employ other ways to ensure ur products are safe. |
this is what story writers on nairaland should learn, DONT MAKE YOUR STORY TOO LONG... nice one OP. |
CaptainEColeJnr:Yes it can be a distraction, but i think education has gone beyond just studying.. Do u knw u can easily get a job frm playing active politics in school? you get to dine with top brass politicians and other high placed individuals, and u build valuable connection. If you have a strong grade plus ur connection frm student politics, my brother You wont be in the labour market for long. I knw of some lecturers that didn't even finish with first class but were retained by their alma mater becos they were active politicians in school, and the VC couldn't help but notice them. Bro there are many other perks that comes frm being involved in school politics, You earn legitimate money, public office aspirants beg you with millions to mobilise your students.. Did u just hear?? i said millions, U have no idea how much Laureatta obakpolor(sug president uniben) Is going to enjoy this yr(election yr), Some even enjoy all expense paid trip outside the country, baba school politics too legit. |
nice one op.. Kip it up. |
IamLukas:gbam, u spoke my mind It shud be july.. i have appx a month to revise all 4 subjects. |
Pprovost:wow, i like your analysis.. I quickly went to check 2012 pume date for uniben, and u're correct. But did u mean "trend of unilag pume or uniben pume"? |
buharisbae:Gerarahere. |
CaptainEColeJnr:July. |
d form is in zip format. |
CaptainEColeJnr:there's a strong indication that the pume exam will take place after their 2nd semester exam which starts 13th of june. Becos UNIBEN plan to use CBT for GST courses, so Pume candidates will have to wait their turn till after the exam. |
