If the Palestinians in West Bank support Hamas, they can't be blamed. Israel is building more illegal settlements, grabbing more land, cutting down farmers olive trees, and making movement a nightmare for the inhabitants there. They have seen Fatah has been docile, probably because they are either scared of losing power, or believe they are powerless against Israel. Fatah is also very corrupt, so it has a lot to lose if power is taken away from them. Their corruption would be exposed.

They did have money! Money they preferred to use to build the Gaza underground, full of tunnels. Why not use that money to develop Gaza. Israel had its fault but Hamas should have done its best to develop Gaza. Movement in Gaza was not crippled by series of illegal Israeli settlements and roadblocks like in the West Bank.

All that gas is worthless. No sensible investor would want to invest there as the risks are too high. In Nigeria, all the big oil multinationals have moved offshore because of the militancy and lawlessness in the Niger Delta. Is it Gaza they will now come and build billion dollar projects?

In addition, a country does not need oil to natural resources to be rich again. Japan has no oil but it is a rich nation. Gaza can be a prosperous place without gas.

What I repeated that is needed is a win/win for all involved. Israel should treat Gazan Palestinians well.

When elections were held in 2006 or 2007, the people voted for Hamas, kicking out the Fatah party which was very corrupt. They saw Hamas as progressive and incorruptiple

Hamas did not care about the people of Gaza. Their primary interest was the annihilation of the state of Israel. Hamas ruled with an iron fist. They also overtaxed the people, and they turned out to be very corrupt.

The $100m water project aid given to Gaza to improve their poor water supply was diverted by Hamas. The water pipes already laid were uprooted and used to make weapons.

By 2019, the people dared to protest with "We Want To Live" demonstrations which were crushed by Hamas. Prople were fed up. Blame Hamas, and not ordinary civilians. Google it.

Anyway, what is crucial is a positive way forward. Netanyahu right wing ruling coalition do not care much about the Palestinians. If some had the opportunity, theyd kick every single one of them out.

Netanyahu is only interested in a win/lose scenario and that's the root of the problem. They should focus on a win win.

Treat the Palestinians well, offer them a path to prosperity. Let the Yemenis, Jordanian, and Syrians envy them. Trust me, 99% of the Palestinian problem Is gone.
