Buhari Appoints Kabiru Bala

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Amb. Kabiru Bala as new High Commissioner to South Africa, with concurrent accreditation to Swaziland and Lesotho.

This was revealed in a statement by Ms. Sarah Sanda, the Special Assistant on Media to Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, said this on Monday in Abuja.

The minister presented the letter of credence to the new ambassador on Monday in Abuja.

She added that before his appointment, Bala was Deputy High Commissioner to the UK.

A career diplomat, Amb. Bala joined the Foreign Service in 1999 and had at different times served in Brasilia, Sudan, The Gambia, Netherlands and Thailand.

He also served in the State House Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, as well as State House Protocol.

Bala will replace Ahmed Ibeto, the former Ambassador who resigned his appointment in July to join the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Drake and Pusha-T beef is far from over. During Pusha’s show at Danforth Music Hall in Drake’s hometown of Toronto on Tuesday night (Nov. 20), multiple people tried to rush the stage and throw beer at the G.O.O.D. Music rapper, leading to an all-out brawl.

6ix9ine Placed In General Prison Population:- 6ix9ine is not receiving any special treatment as he awaits his bail hearing.

The rapper’s lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, tells TMZ that Tekashi has been placed in the general population of Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center instead of the segregated part of the federal prison due to his celebrity status.

Metropolitan Detention Center has a reputation for being brutal and houses inmates that are “extremely dangerous, violent, or escape-prone,” according to the U.S. Justice Department.

One prosecutor claims ex-members of Tekashi’s crew “wanted to super violate him” by inflicting harm and possibly shooting him. However, his lawyer believes he will be fine in the gen pop.

Tekashi’s bail hearing had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, but it has been moved to Wednesday since the judge was unavailable.

The 22-year-old was arrested and indicted on six federal charges, including discharging a firearm while committing a crime, which carries a max sentence of life in prison.

Appeal Court Reduces Jolly Nyame’s 14 Years Jail Term to 12 Years, N525m Fine Imposed On Him

The Court of Appeal Abuja Division, on Friday, reduced the sentence of 14 years imprisonment imposed on a former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, earlier this year, to 12 years.

In its judgment, the court in addition to the 12 years sentence, also imposed a fine of total sum of N525m on the convict, a fine that the lower court had omitted while dispensing the earlier sentence.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court had sentenced the former Taraba governor to 14 years in prison without an option of fine.

Indonesian teenagers boil used sanitary pads and drink the resulting liquid in attempts to get high, reports say.

The bizarre new craze has reportedly gripped youths looking for a cheap and legal way to get high.

The Indonesian National Drug Agency (BNN) said the chemicals in the sanitary pads give those who drink the concoction a feeling of “flying” and hallucinations.

Young people are also boiling nappies – some dirty – in the same process, the BNN added.

“The used pads they took from the trash were put in boiling water. After it cooled down, they drank it together,” said Senior Commander Suprinarto, head of the BNN in Central Java.

Police on the island have in recent weeks arrested teenagers said to be high from the “sanitary pad formula”, Strait Times says.

A man was left red faced after his magic stunt went horribly wrong during a performance in Lagos. It was gathered that the man swallowed a snake while performing a magic stunt and found it difficult to pull it out right there in public.

Three months after the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) placed a ban on Falz the Bahd Guy’s ‘This is Nigeria’ and sanctioned a radio station in Jos, JODAJ Global Communications Limited for playing the song, the singer has finally decided to take legal steps by seeking redress in court for the damages done to him and his brand due to the ban.

According to the court document filed on the 6th of November through Falz’s lawyers Adepetun Caxton-Martin Agbor & Segun (ACAS-Law), the president of the Sweet Boys Association queried the National Broadcasting Commission’s claim that his song, ‘This is Nigeria’ which highlights the socio-political ills of the nation, has any vulgar lyrics in it, further stating through his lawyers that banning this song with no proof to claim “is in flagrant breach of the Plaintiff’s right to the freedom of thought, conscience and expression as guaranteed under the Nigerian laws.”

In addition to the proof of claim, Falz, through his lawyer demanded one hundred million (100,000,000) naira for damages done to him and his brand, stating that it was a wrong and unconstitutional act of the Defendant.

Davido Shuts Down Mayotte:- Davido is back to discovering new places with his music and this time, it’s Mayotte, a French colony which is about one-half of the way from northern Madagascar.

Davido who performed there last night, 27th of October shared his experience about Mayotte on Instagram. The singer revealed that after being booked to perform in Mayotte, the language was a big issue for himself and his crew who couldn’t communicate with the people of the region and that made ordering for their food and possibly other activities difficult.
