My own view is that people that japa cos Nigeria is unsafe are they relocating with their entire family including extended. Cos going to abroad alone leaving your parents and siblings at home cos Nigeria has security issues is the dumbest thing . So if they kidnap any of your people it won’t still affect you . Or let’s assume you go with your parents and siblings what about that your mom siblings lol . You can’t really say you want to japa cos of security issues . That’s for people earning good money and still want to relocate. Valid for people seeking greener pastures

"Security issue" isn't the main reason folks relocate. Trust me it is primarily for greener pasture and good life. Even more so, for new families it's to safe guard the future of their kids. Nigeria is such a toxic country to raise children, if you can can't afford the luxury of paying schools fees in the millions. And how many people can afford that?

Our parent didn't find it this hard when we were kids. Trust me, things are harder in Nigeria now and only the wealthy can survive.

I've read some comments here and I can only imagine how their thoughts and imaginations are stuck. Ignorance truly is a dangerous weapon that has been unleashed to trap a lot living in Nigeria.

That you don't have good leaders to provide the basic necessities is not my problem. The myopic brain of some makes them feel once they have small 50m Naira in their account they are big men. Convert that to $, some people earn that in 3 to 6 months and that is not their life savings.

You talk trash like "Start a business" or "Become an employer of labour" before we talk to you. *Funny*. That I pay for services alone rendered by a vendor, that alone I'm an employer of labour indirectly. I don't necessarily have bear the burden of the over cost for you to know I am an employer of labour. It's called being *Smart*.

Maybe just maybe if it's not too late, if you change your circle you can understand that the Naira is worth nothing in the skim of things. Hence the reason you politicians are busy looting the Nigerian treasury dry to buy houses in western countries.

relocated around same time, was rough initially but with God and hardwork, it’s worth it so much now. All these people talking about kpako house abroad, loneliness and mortgage don’t seem to know jack about the system abroad. Yes, you pay mortgage to own a house, so what! If you are tired of paying mortgage, you can like sell the house next day and people are rushing it buy it and you will make profit on top plus the equities you have gathered from not paying rent instead you are paying mortgage. So let’s say equity of 5 years/at 1k (usually more than that) accumulates to 12 x 5 = 60k, plus the profit you would have made from profit of the house appreciation. You can either, go buy a new house and start paying mortgage again hoping to sell or take your money and go back to Nigeria and build yourself a house.
They keep talking about loneliness, I just laugh because, you can go to various clubs, social events etc and mingle so how is that lonely. People married with kids, are they lonely too?
Also don’t forget, they are still Nigerians, if I tire,I carry all my money come back to naija na.
You go pursue me?
Living abroad gives you OPTIONS (from work, healthcare etc) people living in Nigeria will never most likely have.
As for people thinking Nigerians abroad all wash dead bodies, I just laugh…look while looking for papers you might do those things but when you get it, the doors open and you will do respectable remote 6 figure jobs and live your dream.
Abroad is not prison, if I tire, I come naija flex like a month or 2 or 4 and go back and hustle. People live like that too.
Life is not all about flexing na.
We work and flex, living in naija won’t make you have such opportunities . So don’t be afraid to migrate. I was afraid at first becos I did not know one single person but now my connection reach number one person for the country. No lie!
Will it have been possible in Naija?
I just wanna remain anonymous here, if I post pictures una go madt lol

I completely agree with you... I have said it all. Ignorance has built mansion over some people here and they will never understand no matter hard you try to explain.

so how many clinics do you have or are you busy earning per hour... Is your purpose in life to earn per house been paid by others to you...

I pay others and that is my purpose... I have been to abroad and I know Nigerians are living rat race

Let me ask you a sincere question. The Nigerians you know living like rat, what was their status in the country to start with.

If they don't have a legal status, you will always see them living like that.

For those that have legal status, truth me as Nigerians we earn well and we live a better life even better that of the so called Caucasians.

Sharrap, Nigeria is not nearing collapse,it's still one of the best countries on earth.

Nigerians in Canada and America are even complaining of not being able to build wealth.

Shootings and gun violence also happens in America and Canada.

Some Nigerians here have 24hrs power using inverters and solar.

Most Nigerians can easily build their houses while you niggas in canada and US will be paying for mortgages for several years.

Just so you know, everything you said is completely false and so not true about America and Canada. The same way you have terror attacks in America and Canada is the same way Nigeria is battling with terror attacks.

I'm not sure if you have any Financial understanding of how mortgage works. Mortgage is an asset and as long as you have it, it can be considered as a lifetime investment period.

You said "some Nigerians have 24hrs power supply". Unfortunately for you, Nigeria has made your thinking myopic, everyone deserves 24hrs power supply and not some. Basic necessities are available, standard of living is also better, good healthcare and people tend to live longer.

For clarity sake, I had a well paying 6 figures job in Nigeria and had no reason to relocate. I got an opportunity to move and give my kids/family a better life and I took it. The rest is story now, I'm glad I made that life changing decision. When I left Nigeria $ was #195, today's rate is nothing to right home. The currency has lost its value completely.

If that is the country you want to associate yourself with, more grease to your elbow. I wish you good luck, as for me "Peace Out" Canadian for life. grin

Autos / Re: Let's Calculate The Total Cost Of Clearing Your Car From Tincan Island Port by Kunleayo: 2:20am On Jan 21, 2021
Thanks. I will like to ship the car 1st week in February from Canada, I'll reach out once the is ship is close so we can start the process way before it arrives.

Thanks Once again.

kaysy:

Based on the valuation i got in my system for previous work done, these are the import duty rate for these vehicles:
MBENZ GLK 2010 - N820,926 @ $4,461 (Add about N150,000 for shipping company, terminal and other charges + N100,000 agency fee)
FORD EDGE 2007 - N354,980 @ $1,929 (Add about N100,000 for shipping company, terminal and other charges + N80,000 agency fee)
LEXUS ES350 2008 - N403,378 @ $2,192 (Add about N100,000 for shipping company, terminal and other charges + N80,000 agency fee)

Please note that total cost of duty is dependent on the valuation given, if we gets the valuation lower than what I quoted, the price goes down

Good Job Kaysy,

Can you please give the total clearing cost for MBENZ GLK 2010, FORD EDGE 2007 AND LEXUS ES350 2008. I've plans of shipping all 3 cars down. I want an estimate of how much it will cost to get the 3 cars to my doorstep. The cheapest possible price i could get please.

Thanks.

Travel / Re: Why Do People Become Less Religious When They Travel Abroad? by Kunleayo: 10:06pm On Mar 26, 2019
Hello Guys,

I will like to add some simple facts, based on my personal experience.

I migrated to Canada Mid-2018, before then I won't deny it, I attend church service 2ice a week (Wednesday & Sunday) and still the special service on 1st Saturday of the month. Some people will know the church I attend by now.

I understand God first before anything, Yes God First. When you have prayed to God, you also have to put in effort (work) in order for the answered prayers to manifest. Which is very normal. Some people get carried away with the amount of money they are able to gather within the shortest period and these in turn will tell, when they have worked all through the week and they are too tired to go to church on Sunday. Hence, the frequency in church service starts to reduce. BOOM.

Personal, my attendance in church has reduced and seeing this thread actually touched me. How this all happened, I don't know but the truth is, expect you are a pastor/imam and a strong devoted Christian/Muslim, you will surely fall into the same situation.

Family / Re: The Reality Of The First Born In Every Nigerian Family by Kunleayo: 11:05pm On Dec 17, 2018
To be honest, in most cases except the parents are richly blessed financially. Otherwise, the pressure and burden inherited by most first born is usually out of their control, if you are not strong mentally you break down and loose it all. My advice from experience is "Do your best and leave the rest for God" you are also entitled to be pampered like other children in the family
