NairobiWalker: When you read what they classify as a slum in other countries, you might think they're from Switzerland. Imagine some idiot was arguing here that Buruburu is a slum - and he claims to live in Kenya Ignorance of the highest order from him, but I didn't know he claims to here... Seems like they don't know what a slum is, I've noticed they don't have any fair decent estates |

68816419: man this place u tagged slums actually have better roads, planning and development than many of your cities. but Kibera and other slums kenya are pure slums with zinc buildings. My Google maps can't lie to me... I've tried to see where an average person lives I can't see any, only rich or slums

68816419: what do you think when those houses are renovated, that is, their roofs got changed to new modern roofing systems and the houses gt painted? would u still call them slums? Just like kibera they're overcrowded with no proper roads network, they also waste allot of space with their old bungalow design the only option is to bring all of them down and start a new planned construction of modern apartments |

Kenyans please beg your government to develop other places in NairobiNairobi apart from the cbd No difference with your average estates... Can you post the middle and high end, mostly the middle income residential area cz I know you don't have... |

NairobiWalker: If the word hypocrisy had a face, the face would be you.
Who lives in those Ibadan and Kano slums? Who lives in Makoko? White people? Indians? Yet it's Kenya's slums that you're worried of for harboring only black people. Lower income estates equvnt of Umoja, Donholm Komarock etc in Nigeria are all slums just like kibera... . ...but to them Kano, makoko etc are not slums "Ibadan"

Kazikazi: We discussed this issue before you joined this forum. The problem we had in Tanzania(same applies to Kenya) is bad governance. Yes we have almost everything, but alas, some bad guys let us down. The same thing happened to Kenya and the rest of African nations. Just ask yourself why are Kenyans starving in this day n age? Or why tribal killings are still happening in Kenya? Or why is Kenya not developed like Singapore or Mauritius although you have oil, gold, soda ash, geothermal, bigger land, population, kaolin, game parks, lakes etc? Or why are Kenyans not able to utilize their semi arid land in the north while there are big freshwater lakes in Kenya? What is so hard or difficult to pump some water from lake Victoria to those starving poor people?
In short, most African nations lacks good governance. At independence,we were richer than South Korea,Malaysia,Vietnam, Singapore etc.But now, your Kenya,Tz,Ghana,Nigeria, and the rest of Africa is way poorer than those nations. 99% of what you just wrote are just examples of the ignorant narratives we've been talking about When did you see Kenyan starving?old stories'. Tribalism only comes up during the electioneering season, u'll never hear anything about negative tribalism any other time,& that affects majority of growing "real democratic" countries, TZ is not a democratic country. TZ just like Nigeria is a worse off story even by African standards In spite of being the biggest country in EA in terms of population, natural resources/ land mass, TZ is the most underdeveloped country in the region...all bcz of unempowered citizens and the culture of laziness.... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://mobile.nation.co.ke/blogs/Lessons-from-politics-of-capitalism-Kenya/1949942-4246454-8eefyuz/index.html&ved=2ahUKEwjjipOz0efeAhVP1hoKHQTKDmAQFjAHegQIBBAB&usg=AOvVaw2YHHhExRklqpNjbBI4TNWx |

rvp2018: Real estate - Knight & Frank 2017 Africa report
1) RETAIL SECTOR:
South Africa is by far the largest and most mature retail market in the SubSaharan region, with approximately 23 million sq m of shopping centre floor space, compared with only about 3 million sq m in the whole of the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa. The South African market continued to grow in 2016, most notably through the completion of Atterbury’s 131,000 sq m Mall of Africa, the largest single-phase mall development ever in Sub-Saharan Africa. Outside of South Africa, the Kenyan capital Nairobi has the greatest volume of modern retail floor space in SubSaharan Africa, and it continues to be a development hotspot . The city saw the completion of the first phase of Actis’ Garden City Mall (33,500 sq m) in 2015, followed by the opening of The Hub (30,000 sq m) in the affluent suburb of Karen in 2016. The 67,000 sq m Two Rivers Mall, which is now the largest in Kenya, opened in February 2017. This again reflects a country's economic situation, SA with a population of about 56million almost equal to TZ, beats the entire continent... Then Kenya comes second with almost 30% of the remaining balance |

rvp2018: When did you defeat kenya? You've shown to be at best twice kenya when you've got 4 times the population & twice the land size. Your GDP is officially 4 times Kenya (a fat lie). Again when it come to comparing agricultural production - I want to see you level kenya but at least being 4 times as better.
Let recap - your telcom sector with 140-160M users can only at best generator 8.5B dollars! Ours with at best 45M subscribers generate about 4B dollars. We did the same for banking...our total banking asset is 40B dollars compared to yours about 90B. You get the drift!
When you look at South Africa level - which is where you should be comparing yourself if indeed your GDP was that big - you are faar behind. Their GDP per capita must be less than $1,000 then... |

With states like Taraba,Adamawa,Gombe,Bauchi, plateau having over 40 ethnic groups each. You need to take it this way too. . .maybe you guys aren't also informing about yourself well. Kenyans in here know about TPLF because we Ethiopians talk about it here. How many times have you guys informed us about your culture. As a kenyan nation, that was also your responsibility if you want people to know about you. Am not saying you havent informed us about your country, yes you did. But you havent done enough on your culture and tradition. Just make sure you did your part I will be doing that, to someone like you who is interested to explore the world Not the Nigerians who u'll tell them something, in a matter of a sec they repeat the same old narrative, very ignorant people, I cld have flogged them numerous times if they were here |

68816419: man ,where are the 30000 former slum dwellers of Kibera evicted as a result of road construction some weeks back now?. how about providing answers to other slums issues ? You don't settle anywhere you wish to, u'll build a slum in who's land?, there knowing other places are individually owned... Kibera began as settlement scheme where the Nubians from Sudanese where awarded the land after their participation in the WW2 the area was under dense vegetation and the soldiers called it Kibra, a jungle or forest in the Nubian language. The Government owns all the land in kibera. But the houses are owned by individuals who mostly don't live there(reason why they can't build permanent structures) "Kibera originated as a settlement in the forests at the outskirts of Nairobi, when Nubian soldiers returning from service with the King's African Rifles (KAR) were allocated plots of land there in return for their efforts in 1904. Kibera was situated on the KAR military exercise grounds in close proximity to the KAR headquarters along Thika Road. The British colonial government allowed the settlement to grow informally. The Nubians had no claim on land in "Native Reserves" and over time, other tribes moved into the area to rent land from the Nubian landlords". |

You may wonder what kind of education they get esp Nigerians and TZs They think all Kenyans look like our athletes and that everyone is a Masai, at first I thought they're just making a mockery of us, kumbe that's what their average brain contains... They even sound more ridiculous our economy is driven only by foreigners ati India and whites.. |
