PoliticsRe: Iran Declares End To The “12‑day War” by Kushites:
Times have changed.

These guys have realised that they will lose so much if a big nuclear global war breaks out. They live in glass palaces and enjoy the best luxurious lifestyles.

Nobody, including Netanyahu and the Ayatollah wants to lose the ability to check their phone. Or check the number of retweets and likes they got.

That's why their 'wars' are now very measured. War is more about theatre now.

If USA hits Iran, Iran 'must' respond, to maintain its dignity (make e no be like say..), and even the US understands that. They even announce to the other what area they are going to hit, etc, for early evacuation.

That is not how wars were fought in the past. grin

They are all scared of scattering the world, because it will personally affect them. We are so interconnected now.

Winning a war is becoming less about troops on the ground, and more about your number of followers on X, vis-a-vis your enemy.

It's about 'owning' your opponents on the other side of the political divide.

Who is owning the narrative on social media. Whose narrative is trending more than the other.

That's why they won't dare blow up the world. Vanity and ego.

Because if they do, there goes their followers, their millions of likes and retweets, and their legacy.

PoliticsRe: Does Nigeria Have Air Defense System? by Kushites: 1:15am On Jun 25, 2025
VonSmallhausen:
You are correct!

Firstly air Defence is a very broad term. It covers everything from 20mm anti-aircraft guns designed to bring down low flying aircraft and drones to high end anti-missile missiles like the Patriot and other elements like you have in the iron dome.

In Nigeria here, our air defence system is focused on countering threats from aircraft attack, so we have various calibres of anti-aircraft guns, including some which are radar guided, like some her have rightly noted, we used to have a number of anti-aircraft missiles ranging from the smaller shoulder fired versions like the Russian SA-7 Grail, to the larger Roland anti aircraft missiles.

Like You have noted Nations arm themselves for realistic Threats. No need spending tons of Dollars on Patriot missile systems when the threats you face are only AK-47 armed insurgents. Even when you stretch your imagination, we have probably the best air defence systems among all our immediate neighbours.
You don't even need to stretch your imagination. grin

Ghana is ranked 110th on that world military ranking list on which Nigeria is 31st. grin

Mali, 105.

Ivory Coast 85 etc etc.

Nigeria is the superpower of West Africa by a huge margin.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, June 23, 2025 commissioned Nigeria’s largest-ever Agricultural Mechanization Program, a landmark initiative aimed at boosting food production and food security in Nigeria.

https://i0.wp.com/media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2023/02/FpmJ6u7XoAM78xf-1-e1677931017658.jpeg

The program includes the distribution of 9,022 units of equipment, including tractors, ploughs, harvesters, and other farming implements.

Speaking at the launch, tagged ‘Official Launching of Tractors and Agricultural Equipment under the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme’ in Abuja, President Tinubu said, “We envision Nigeria as a global agricultural powerhouse. Supplying quality produce to international markets while ensuring every citizen has access to affordable nutrition.”

“We are very proud of what we are doing. And the promise when we came in, we are fulfilling that promise“, he added

The President as, “This government recognises that agricultural productivity is synonymous with national stability and food sovereignty. The ability to nourish our population forms the bedrock of a prosperous nation.''

“Our ambition extends beyond mere sense of necessity. We envision Nigeria as a global agricultural powerhouse. Supplying quality produce to international markets while ensuring every citizen has access to affordable nutrition.”

“That’s why we took a bold decision to establish this Global Agricultural Mechanization Program. We are just beginning. All that is indicative in addition to whatever they have at the sub-national level as governors”.

President Tinubu assured that the equipment will generate over 20,000 agricultural jobs, provide 15 industrial grid land preparation producers, 12 fully equipped mobile workshops, as well as 9,000-plus specialised farming implements. This equipment will be deployed to empower mechanisation and service providers”

He emphasised the importance of deploying the equipment with maximum efficiency and holding stakeholders accountable.

He said the launch of the Global Agricultural Mechanisation Program marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s agricultural development and is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s food security and economy.

“Let history recall this day as the beginning of Nigeria’s agricultural renewal. Where modern technology made our farmers legendary resilience to a great unprecedented prosperity.”

He noted that the program is a result of a partnership between the Nigerian government and APRE BNCC, a global leader in agricultural technology and machinery trade aimed at empowering Nigerian youths and promoting agricultural mechanization in the country” he said .

In his remarks, Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS),s aid the program is a bold affirmation of the government’s commitment to agriculture as a key driver of economic growth and development.

“Today’s event is not just a program for us. It is a landmark milestone in Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda,” Kyari said.

“The program is expected to create over 550,000 hectares of farmland under cultivation, generate more than 2 million metric tons of stable food, create over 16,000 jobs, and directly benefit more than 560,000 migrant households across all six geophysical zones.”

According to Kyari, the program includes 2,000 high-quality tractors, trailers, ploughs, hollows, sprayers, and planters, as well as 10 sets of the highest 330-horsepower combined harvesters. “We have over 9,000 computer-generated equipment and 9,000 sets of spare parts,” he added.

Also speaking, Victor Karankevich, deputy prime minister, Republic of Belarus, expressed joy at the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Belarus.

He said Belarus has a long history of producing Agricultural equipment and has supplied the same to over 100 countries.

Noting that the programme was in its first phase, he stressed the need for further collaborations and implementation for the second phase.

He added that the phases will include the assemblage of service centers, assembly plant, training of farmers on the use of the various equipment and mechanization.

Businessday recalls that the Federal Executive Council, FEC, in August 2024 approved the agreement between the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Government of the Republic of Belarus for 2024 – 2029 which entailed the delivery of 9022 units of various agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as the spare parts, from the Republic of Belarus.

I have been following this Iran vs Israel vs US war on all platforms,so one thing is certain, and that is, all three countries are not walk over when it comes to armunitions and sophisticated weapons.

Even the India and Pakistan who people believe are lagging behind in military warfare surprised the whole world by taking the battle to the air through fighter jets and high flying military crafts.

So the question is,does Nigeria possess any worthy military hardware in case we come in contact with any powerful adversary? because the world is forming alliances. Who will even think Qatar will be caught in the war,and if not that they too are well armed, the country wud hv been under Iranian fire by now. So does Nigeria even have air defense system that can intercept incoming missiles?? Abi na only Tucano jets we can boast off.
The Nigerian military is ranked a very respectable 3rd in Africa behind Egypt and Algeria, and 31st in the world, ahead of Mexico, Argentina, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Malaysia, Denmark, Switzerland, Colombia, Romania, and many other countries.

So Yes, the Nigerian military is a modern, formidable, heavily-armed fighting force that is very dangerous and lethal in conventional warfare, and should never be underestimated by anyone, least of all her own citizens.

And the leader of Nigeria will be called the Governor of Nigeria.

So you people better start looking for another name to call your current state governors, so you don't confuse issues.
