But we are now in the 21st century, where the Qur’an, Hadiths, Tafsir, and many other religious texts have been translated into numerous indigenous languages. Nothing is hidden anymore, everyone can read these verses for themselves and understand their implications.

Mention one northern elite or politician who has ever been taken before a Sharia court or punished under Sharia law in Northern Nigeria, just one. You can’t, because Sharia is never applied upward; it is only used against the poor and powerless.

The ruling class hides behind it, pretending to be guardians of morality while living far above the very laws they impose on others. It is nothing but a carefully packaged illusion of piety, designed to deceive the masses, control public perception, and suppress people of other religious beliefs. And the saddest part is this: religion has never developed any nation. Science and technology are the real drivers of progress, innovation, and modern civilisation.

The earlier they realise this truth, the better. After all the loud display of ‘piety,’ what exactly does the core North have to show for it in terms of real development, growth, or human advancement? Nothing but poverty weaponised, ignorance recycled, and hypocrisy elevated to a governing principle.
