Tpappie: Just submitted and it was d security man that collected it... I hope I submitted to the right quarter...?No problem. We close early this week so they can't allow you in again at certain times because you won't meet anyone in the offices. |
Prof Gday: @kuytJust give it a try. Did u see the disparity between the figures I mentioned? Shows your bargaining power and presentation. They will definitely put price on you depending on how they see you. |
pretimina: Tnx @kuyt, if I have to go to the school do I include a cover letter to my cv? Or state d subject I prefer if I send via the mailYes to both. Cover letters are very important. They make the search and sorting easier for them. MoltenMagma: Kuyt, thanks for the info. Howeva, no one knows you off nairaland so I don't know why you being so reluctant to give us figures. Let us know the starting salary for a bsc so that we can prepare our minds. What is the minimum? This is a school where salaries remain confidential to individuals. However if you insist, three years ago when I was employed, they offered some of us 120k, some others 150k and some as low as 95k to do the same teaching job. Though on two different occasions after then, they have done increments but you just can't know the other person's total take home unlike banks where you can view your colleague's salary on the system in front of you. |
freemon50: Same, went to submit mine today, thank goodness I wnt with my left ove shiloh evelopes, never knew I needed envelope. Fear catch me ooo when I saw mountain of encelopes. Where is Nigeria goingThis is just my dear country Nigeria. My former office starts graduates with 15k for the first two months and then they pay between 25-35k depending on the work you do and yet when they advertise, we treat thousands of CVs. They will tell you that if you leave, there are over a hundred people that will line up to take up the job for less. There is so much suffering in the land. May God help us. I pray you get the job because "Chrisland no carry last at all" I mean it! |

I am so sorry bro, I may not be able to tell the starting pay. Like I said, it depends on how you present and sell yourself to the interviewing panel |
pretimina: @kuyt I'm interested in the recruitment process bt av only formally taught during nysc. I am competent and certain I can handle the job. Do you advise I apply?Yes, you can. You just need to prove yourself. Debeloved87: @kuyt.....When are the applicants going to be called up for test and interviews. Schls resumes on d 13th and teachers on the 6th...i pray they do that b4 d 6th.Like I said before, it's a school that is expanding, they recruit everyday according to requests from their schools and more so, the only constant thing is change. People leave in search of greener pastures, even people that work in banks do leave for other banks while others remain there, enjoying. I happen to work at the school where they conduct their tests and teaching interviews, I see them testing people all through the year and fix them where there is vacancy within the organization. Don't bother yourself about the date. |
Mintayo: so i can forward it to that email address?Yes bro. |
hilaomo: how much was the start up pay as at then sir?Because my decision depends Majorly on your reply to that question sir.I really can't tell, sincerely as it depends on your bargaining power and how you present yourself to the panel. Mintayo: Pls will you encourage someone living far to apply? And when is the deadline?I tell you, we have people from Badagry, Sango, Mowe, Ibafo, Ikorodu, Ajah, Awoyaya. So it depends on where you call "far" Again, I got in touch with the HR people and they told me there is an address for the process: recruitment@chrislandschools.sch.ng |
@uboma @flexxee It's okay guys. Let me reiterate it that the HR dept. has a contact email address. We all do and every dept. does have it. Since they didn't put it for this purpose, it's not in my place to put it up here. They will have their reasons for that. I am just a teaching staff in one of the units. freemon50: Pls how much do they pay graduate for the post of Biology or Agriculture teacherI have been with them for up to four years now, they started with me on a good scale and at intervals, they improve on their pay plus other incentives. |
flexxee: Why can't you just put the school's email address for people to apply via email instead of going through the stress of coming to Ikeja just to submit the CVs & applications? We are in 2013 for God's sake not in stone age. What about people that are not living in Lagos or near Ikeja? Haba! The HR department has an email address. I do not know why they have decided not to use it for this process. |
Debeloved87: ok,thats great. I have another question to ask,am sorry if am bordering you. You have provided us with an email where we can send our resume and cover letter and i have just sent mine, now do i still need to physically come and drop my CV and Cover Letter again at the address of the School, Chrisland school, given in the Original Post? Not to mention bro. That email address is not the HR address, it's just a place I can go get it to print and submit to help the Ibadan guy. They prefer hard copies of CVs at the HR dept. so it's better to submit your CV at Opebi. |
Debeloved87: really, so if someone apply and eventually is being appointed and yet stays and lives in lagos does that mean that such person is going to be transferred to Abuja? No. You can choose between Lagos and Abuja, but if in Lagos, you can be posted to any of the nine schools and other departments within the city. |

send your cv to contactikejahigh@chrislandschools.sch.ng Mind your grammar bro. |
Debeloved87: thats great, pls if i may ask which area is this new establishment of this organisation located.Abuja |
kado: Did they sack all their staff?I work there. No staff was sacked. We are expanding. We currently have nine(9) schools in Lagos and another new one in Abuja. |
greatgod2012: Rest in peace!!!The father will be buried on Monday after a funeral service at the same church. |
onegig: Can you revert back to windows 7?Thanks a lot bro I will do just that. |
onegig: thats not to good. Might even damage the screen. First thing. What screen resolution is it? To get this right click on the desktop screen and click screen resolution. Drag the place holder back to 800 * 600. Next go to my computer, right click on the white space and choose properties. Click on the device manager link at the top right corner of your screen. When the device manager loads please check under video.. Check if your video driver installed? Thanks bro The screen resolution change didn't stop the blinking problem. The device manager shows that video card is installed. One more thing I noticed is that after shutting down, only the display goes off, the system doesn't. I always have to shut down by pressing the power button |

onegig: blinking? How? On and off or what?Blinking as in the screen keeps going of and on as of its blinking, though its working. Just the way a fluorescent tube behaves when it's going dead. |
Please bro help me I just installed windows 8 on my notebook and since the installation completed, my screen has been blinking continuously. The system is: Hp compaq NVDIA Processor: 1.60ghz RAM:3gb System type:32bit OS |

Peeps, I don't know if it is out of place for me to ask this question. Is there any way that I can get volunteer web designers for a project. A friend who is currently outside the country mailed me to ask if he could get this service for the project he is planning to embark on as soon as he arrives in the country next January. My contacts are 08932777721, 08055566997. Thanks. |
