Infinix just can't stop expanding its Note 12 line. There is the vanilla model, a variant with the MediaTek Helio G96, a Note 12i, a Note 12 VIP, which we recently did a hands-on review of and the Note 12 Pro 5G. Last month the company promised to unveil the world's first MediaTek Helio G99 phone. The Note 12 Pro 4G shares many specs with its 5G sibling, like the 6.7-inch, FullHD+ AMOLED display, the dual loudspeaker setup, the 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging and its camera setup with a 108MP, f/1.8 (1.92µm, 1/1.67" main snapper with two 2MP supplementary cameras and 16MP, f/2.0 selfie cam. If the measurements are current, the 4G model seems to be slightly thinner at 7.8mm. Some of its other features include NFC, two nano SIM slots and a microSD one, as well as a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The biggest difference, of course, is the chipset swap to a MediaTek Helio G99. It is made on TSMC's 6nm node and features two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 ones, plus a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Here it is paired with 8GB of RAM (expandable to 13GB via virtual RAM) and 256GB of expandable storage. https://m.gsmarena.com/infinix_note_12_pro_4g_quietly_goes_official_with_store_listing-news-55084.php

Last year we tested a concept phone from Infinix with a 160W fast charging system. The company has continued working on battery tech since then and has pushed the charge rate even higher. Infinix calls this new system “Thunder Charge” and based on the onscreen label, it has a peak power rating of 180W. The clip is only around 10 seconds long but the battery indicator goes up by nearly a full percentage point. The goal for last year’s 160W system was to completely charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 10 minutes. While the company hasn’t released a retail device with 160W charging yet, it did launch the Infinix Note 12 VIP with 120W charging. It has a slightly larger battery capacity, 4,500mAh, and the official time for a 0-100% charge is 17 minutes (we have a hands-on review of the 12 VIP if you’re interested). The 2021 concept phone wasn’t just about the charging, it also had a color-changing film on the back and an electroluminescent film that could be used for notifications. Hi Nairalanders, as we all know that the Infinix Note 12 VIP is the most expensive, most decorated and most sophisticated Infinix device yet but it shares some similarities with the Note 11 Pro, however, there are notable areas where the Note 12 VIP is far ahead. Infinix Note 12 VIP vs Infinix Note 11 Pro Specifications: Display Infinix Note 12 VIP: 6.7-inch, 120Hz Infinix Note 11: 6.95-inch, 120Hz RAM Infinix Note 12 VIP: 8GB Infinix Note 11: 8GB Storage Infinix Note 12 VIP: 256GB Infinix Note 11: 128GB Back Camera Infinix Note 12 VIP: 108 + 8 + 2MP Infinix Note 11: 64 + 2 + 13MP Front Camera Infinix Note 12 VIP: 16MP Infinix Note 11: 16MP Chipset Infinix Note 12 VIP: Helio G96 Infinix Note 11: Helio G96 Software Infinix Note 12 VIP: Andriod 12 Infinix Note 11: Andriod 11 Battery Infinix Note 12 VIP: 4,500mAh (120W) Infinix Note 11: 5,000mAh (33W) The display of the Infinix Note 12 VIP is better. It is the only one here with a Super AMOLED display which is very rich in colors, and brightness and better for media consumption. There’s also a 120Hz refresh rate support across both smartphones. Both smartphones also have a similar dot in-display design where the selfie camera is placed. But overall, the Infinix Note 12 VIP has a better display quality. When it comes to the camera comparison, the Infinix Note 11 Pro could not measure up to the Note 12 VIP. Even though both devices can take bright images in good lighting conditions, however, the 108MP on Infinix Note 12 VIP is crispier. Although when it comes to video recording, both devices can shoot in 2k max resolution. None of these two phones is 5G supported. This is because both devices are powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 which is a 4G chipset. So technically you have the same performance across both smartphones. The memory is 8GB of RAM but the storages are different. The Infinix Note 12 VIP has a bigger 256GB storage which is double what the Note 11 Pro has. The Infinix Note 12 VIP boots Android 12 out of the box, while the Infinix Note 11 Pro is a year behind by booting Android 11. Although both have similar XOS v10 skin software. The Infinix Note 12 VIP may also get upgraded to Android 13 according to the company. The Infinix Note 12 VIP has a 4,500 mAh battery capacity with a 120W fast charge (it can top up from 0% to 100% in about 20 minutes). While the Infinix Note 11 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery capacity with a slower 33W fast charge. The Infinix Note 12 VIP is more expensive. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at 201,000 Naira. While the Note 11 Pro with an almost similar configuration is priced at 145,000 Naira. The Infinix Note 12 VIP is the better phone of these two. It has a better camera, better display, and well build body. Moreover, it runs on Android 12 software with a promise of an upgrade to Android 13 in the nearest future. So if I’m to score these two smartphones by percentage. I’ll score the Infinix Note 12 VIP (55%) while the Infinix Note 11 Pro gets (45%).
