Kyase,
the journey to define our identity has begun.
When they need the strength of our number, they call us the North.

My beef is that when the Fulani come to us, they call us "nyamiri" and "infidel".

Honestly, in tikes like this, we need men like Gideon Orka.
I have repeatedly wished this.
in time brother, in time.

See, this folks see us as second class humans. And nobody else can make them change their mind except we ourselves.
i know, we call it Hard demand.

You owe nobody no apology or explanation.
One of them had tagged me IPOB and it does not matter.
just focus energy on what we are doing.

after this stage, the next is to make political statements through voting patterns.

Its time we align with the peaceful South.

South is peaceful, middle belt is peaceful, north is violent.
somebody should do the maths and tell me where we should align...
thanks.
We fail to know that we are the most important set of people in an election. Who ever we vote for wins the election, so we dont need to attach with anyone.

With all due respect and not to mock, but I truly wonder how people can remember such exact events & details about their dreams?
I know King Nebuchadnezzar remembered his long dream....but I just marvel at this.
I remember bits and pieces....if I remember anything at all...
Brother, may I ask how you know what each of those specific topics that you listed mean?
lol

MrHowto:
The clash between herdsmen and farmers did not start today? Does it? Do you realize you're tired today or because a Muslim is the president you become tired?

Secondly declaring your zone as middle belt. Do you think that will stop the herdsmen issue? Herdsmen that do cross even the south not to talk of north central. How does pulling from the north save you from this?

There was condemnation you can check the screenshots below. The President condemned it, the senate did the same. Buhari give I.G of police who is also from north central an order to brought the perpetrators to justice. And Ofcourse some were arrested.

Again some northern elders but not elected representatives keeps silent rather than to comment on herdsmen issue with farmers. Ask yourself why? When herdsmen clash with farmers, if herdsmen have upper hand the media make noise about it but when the herdsmen are killed they go silent except for few media like Naij and Daily trust.

Likewise your leaders keep silent when the local community killed Fulani.

Haven said that why will you blame the north for the issues that should be tackled by chief security of the state? Your governor. If the police cannot handled it, has the governor write to Mr. President seeking soldiers and Mr president refuse ?

All the 19 northern governors do have a meeting occasionally, they last year sign an agreement with a British company to search for oil in Benue without showing sentiment it is not in NW or NE. The far north will pay the largest price in search of the oil although it is not in NW or NE to show all are "Yan Arewa". (I doubt if NC will do that to other region) Why did your governors fail to speak to other 19 mates on such meeting on a way to tackle the herdsmen issue?

No one will want to associate himself with a person they do fight with. For example Majority of Boko Haram members are Kanuri tribe of Nigeria and Chadians killing mostly Muslims. Those that means Adamawa Gombe and Bauchi tribes should exclude themselves from NE? How does that stop Boko Haram from going into the excluded Area?

The samething goes here how does middle belt stop Fulani from going to the region? The only solution is for your governor to be equal to the task with the help of his mate governors and if necessary FG or he resign.

No need to address this, the above is sufficient.

Again I don't take agitation like this serious when your governors and reps always pledge allegiance to Arewa Capital (Kaduna).

But even when they become serious, nobody is holding you, declare new isolated region which is neither South nor North (automatic minority with no friends to move a motion in national assembly).

You ain't doing any favor to north east and north central. It is just that United We Stand Divided We Fall.
and we do stop the clash now or our generation will carry it over.

They are being misguided to their detriment. How many middle beltans state indigenes even reside in the yeast? Ask them what they have ever benefitted from flat heads in their entire lives, they will start making some funny sounds. They are not even comfortable being with flat heads and they are here making noise like confused bunch.
They can join up with the flat heads in that their cartoon dreams, their business.
we never for once said we want an alliance with the east, so why all this?

You're already in your region, you want to change it name or what?

You people are given every opportunity as other northerners but some people want to mislead you.
the cry started when herdsmen started the wipeout process in the region and enforcing thier will on us by force.
When the herdsmen attacked the east, there was nationwide cry against them. Some even say they should go back to the north, infact at some point i defended the herdsmen against my people[all my comments are on these forum] but when i thought the killing was enough, it worsen. You should understand our cry, we are not much in number and we fell threatened by the killing.

U dey mind dem?
Infact this report confirms that the leadership of most of these staccato groups are just attention seekers. The middle belt is more aligned to the north than any other part of the country.
A random survey will convince any discerning mind.
-Almost all states in the middle belt fall within the catchment areas of northern universities.
-Almost all the middle belt always vote for any presidential contestant from the north.
-Chief Sunday Awoniyi, a middle beltan, is a one time chairman of ACF.
-All governors of middle belt states are members of ACF.
-All middle beltans identify themselves as northerners.
-Take a trip to any state in the middle belt and make little enquiries, you will be convinced.
Flat heads are jubilating as if middle beltans identify themselves with their cartoon dreams. How many middle beltans understand Igbo as compared to Hausa? Middle beltans don't even want to be identified with yeebos, infact they mostly feel embarrassed when such mistakenly occurs.
That should tell any flat head where the middle beltans are more interested in, forget all these useless attention seekers.
yes we know all, we remained faithful until this day, but how do you pay us? By sending herdsmen to finish us abi. Now its either we are treated equally or we are out. That's our demand.

Religion should take a back seat in our national or regional life, should a middle belt nation be achieved.

Terkimbi01:
I am not speaking for the Middle Belt.
I am too small and too insignificant to do that.

I am only here to relay our sentiments.

1. First and foremost, the Fulani must pull out of our lands.
Even if they will return, it will be after negotiations and agreements on bow they will return.

They cannot invade our lands, destroy our way of life, destroy our crops,.maim and kill us, and on top of it, take over our lands.

2. Nigeria must pull out of Organisation of Islamic Countries.

While some Nigerians are Moslems, some of us are not.
we have no intention of becoming for obvious reasons.

3. We are not part of the North.
we did not negotiate with anybody to put us there.
it was the British that defined our current status.

we are Middle Belt. we want to be addressed as such.
Our governors will have Middle Belt Governors Forum where they shall discuss our affairs as it concerns.

After all,.the South are not lumped into one. South East, South west and south south all have distinct identities.

4. We are more comfortable with the peaceful south than with the violent North.
so, if we want to seek alliance, we look towards south.

5. Abolish Qouta System especially when it comes to areas that demand intellectual capacities. Let those qualified do the work.

6. Allow us to govern ourselves. we wish to provide our security and approach eduction with sense of responsibility without interference from the centre.

7. Allow us to develop at our own pace.
We are not afraid of resource control.

8. We are not begging for ONE Nigeria, after all,.what it has given us so far is tears and blood.

To all middle-belters here on Nairaland, feel free to correct me on any of the points.

Add your own points.

To all Nigerians here on Nairaland, feel free to correct me.
I don't want any abuses. I believe what we all want is a peaceful and prosperous nation where the citizens are equal.

expressing my opinion is not a crime.
That should not be our issue.

I will not blame you. Not at all!

I blame our elite for not doing enough to curtail the excesses of Yoruba people in orientation moulding. They had undue indulgence in the media and today everybody can see the terrible result.

It was Yoruba who caused the incessant quest for restructuring. Now the flame is burning hot and they have scrawled back into their shell as usual.

It was Yoruba who instigated violence in Lagos, the then capital, in 1964. That violence led to every bad thing happening in the country today, including the agitation for Biafra, in larger scale.

Today, everybody has learnt to copy the wrong things without minding the consequences. But I will advise those infidels in the North to reconsider your position because your rebellion against the North will be met with absolute brutality.

It can only be an infidel who will wake up in the morning and decide to change his name to middle belt
this guy again.
