Best wishes, oh. But its all in the mind. Wherever you go and regardless of your degrees, God's grace matters oh. Been here in Canada for almost one year and its an eye-opener. The job market is not funny at all these days oh, so one has to be strong mentally. In fact, if you're looking to migrate- going to school first is your best option. As you'd your time in school acclimatizing, learning the culture and integrating, and most importantly, learning to communicate (very under-rated!!!) |
I'm pretty new to Toronto, and looking to meet up with Nigerians here. Anyone around?? |
Now that we have achieved traction with our critical mass, we should focus on quality. The piracy issue, which is the industry's biggest problem, has to be tackled with an indigenous solution. It'd be great to have movie premieres, and also have Nigerian movies at all cinemas in the country. |
GEJ, unfortunately, appears to be the best of the "serious" contestants. Though he lacks the pedigree, charisma and diplomacy to manage a complex country as ours, hopefully, he'd move us a few steps forward. Best if he could focus on electricity, roads, health, education, security and agriculture. Interestingly, he could achieve a whole lot more success if he involve the private sector, and win the trust and confidence of international investors. These days Nigeria is not even viewed as an "emerging market" anymore. The likes of Kenya, Mauritius and Ghana are. |
Problem has always been policy implementation, and not policy formation. It simply failed because of Govt's attitude towards funding the educational sector. Schools are in tatters, teachers perpetually on strike, , and like every other thing in Nigeria, afflictions of corruption. Imagine OBJ opening a University while ASUU was on strike. Even Atiku has his own university. Its simply ridiculous. Unless the drastic suggestion of forcing children of public officials to school at local, public universities the same non-chalant attitude would remain. What's stopping us from recruiting the thousands of University graduates as teachers for primary and secondary schools, btw?? |
