Question: How come the unit price for the 6kg bag (N7300/6kg) is higher than that of the smaller 4kg bag (N4200/4kg)? This is a misnormer. Ideally, the higher the quantity packaged...the lower the unit price per kg.

Please clarifiy.

What variety, colour, how long to mature (3 or 4 months)...etc.
For we who have been sourcing seeds from local farmers/markets its difficult to ascribe local measure to kg. Can you sell in garawa and if yes how much per garawa?

And you have said it all.

It started as a quest to expand our growing farm business .....a path least traveled by many, and having successfully established other agricultural enterprises. However as expected of a starter in a a new and proposed project, consultations were made; and widely as is. From tens of local subsistence/traditional farmers to a few commercial and formally educated (white collar turned brown) agripreneurs, the verdict was same across board.

The choice of rice was overly commended due to its social, economic and developmental implications. However there was a consistent and stern warning by ALL stakeholders against the #1 threat....i.e. the menace of BIRDS, particularly during the last month preceding the farmers harvest. The message was clear: rice farming though stressful (which business isn’t ), is lucrative…but yield and returns mostly dependent on the consequence of different bird scare tactics that range from the physical (scarecrows, human scarers, tapes etc.) to spiritual (juju, prayer & fasting etc.).

Every rice farmer in these parts will gladly tell you that his yield can be as inconsistent as 1.5 tonne to almost zero tonne per hectare dependent solely on this menace of birds…and of course after employing best practices through land preparation to seed selection to fertilizer application to weed & control to harvesting procedures.

So armed with this verdict by ALL I sought to take on the challenge to research and proffer a permanent solution to this issue that threatens the local production of a major staple food in Nigeria and for which there has been several calls to save the local farmers, whose numbers continue to dwindle in view of their inability to successfully win against the fight of birds and as such guarantee their marginal profits in the value chain of production.

I dare say that we have only just successfully tested THE SOLUTION!!!

Land preparation et al commenced on May 8, 2015 in a 4 hectare farm land located in Owode L.G in Ogun State, and harvest was completed on September 14, 2015; having grown the 4 month variety of Ofada rice.

Pictures will follow….and testimonies are rife, so at last rice farmers can rest easy and focus on their core business of nurturing….whilst our SOLUTION takes care of the rest.

I have a cracked screen on my Lumia 925. It slipped to the ground, pictures and data started to turn purple....and then it went totally blank. Anyone out there who can assist with a cost effective fix in Lagos?

I really still have a lot to learn when it comes to Cocoa cos i know next to nothing, from securing the land and what kinda land to use for it ( i have been told to just go to Ondo state, that their lands are fertile for it) to what breed to plant, when to harvest, who and how to sell to and what group to join and all that . . . But i am sure soon, i will take time to know all these.

Guaranteed target of 24-36 months to yield, though we have established cases of 18-24 months.

It isn't about "having money to throw around", she aint eating and would you rather I watch her starve? She is a Pug and I started her on Purina.

Soak it in hot/cold water to make it soft . Then add two spoons of powdered milk, stir. Make sure there is no milk at the surface so your dog won't just lick the milk and go. Try it sir.

I got a 25Kg bag of Pedigree Adult - Complete Nutrition - Chicken Flavor dry feed for my Pug...but she seems totally uninterested. Its been 3 weeks now and she hasn't even eaten up to a kilo.

I've had to switch her to home made feed today and she went at it like a PVC to an accreditation device
It's kind of surprising because she grew up on dry feed and I only just switched to adult feed since she crossed the one year mark in February.
My predicament right now is that I'm saddled with close to a bag of Pedigree and can't bear to see it lying in a corner without fulfilling it purpose of existence (which is to be eaten with relish).

So whose interested in turning this to a happy ending?
