Nigeria doesn't have a surveillance or Military Satellite (electro-optical with IR capabilities) or Lacrosse/ONYX (SAR).

As of the latest reports, Nigcomsat-1R remains operational, supporting broadcasting, broadband, and maritime services across Africa and parts of Europe and Asia.

Nigeriasat-1 (2003): Part of Nigeria's earth observation program, this satellite was built by Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. (UK) but launched by a Chinese rocket. It operated successfully until 2012, when it was decommissioned after exceeding its design life.

Nigeriasat-2 and Nigeriasat-X (2011): Both launched on August 17, 2011, by a Russian Dnepr rocket (not Chinese), these satellites were built by the UK with Nigerian engineers trained in the process.

Nigeriasat-X was Nigeria's first indigenously designed satellite, though assembled abroad. Both are operational, providing high-resolution imagery for agriculture, urban planning, and disaster management.
