Politics / Re: You Cannot Pay Your Gateman Or Driver Below N70,000 - Senate President by LadyExcellency: 9:13am On Jul 25
This is a new bill different from the previous one that put renegotiation every five years. This bill is encompassing and puts the next renegotiation to 2027.

People want a higher wage but are not ready to pay others the minimum. Is that not witchcraft?

They will continue to make more money exploiting the penchant of Africans for dereliction of duty to then lay blame on others.

Education does not seem to have improved the capacity of Nigerians to deliver solutions for themselves and their fellow citizens.

For example, every Nigerian today is moaning about hunger and "ebinpawa" etal.

Yet where is the #backtothefarm resolve others would have adopted worldwide if faced with our similar challenge?

Nigerians, even faced with existentialist challenges, continue to disengage themselves from the solutions-provision process to insist a few individuals must find solutions for 230 million people.

Yet we don't see what is patently wrong with this approach that shames us as educated but unthinking.
Learned but wasteful of knowledge acquired. Normal eyesight yet blind to so much.

I have lost count of how many times westerners have theorised about what they would make of Africa, with her natural endowment, if it were their home continent.

Our main challenge, that many have never factored into their thinking, is how we cannot provide solutions for ourselves even with possession of some of the finest academic education known to man.

Pride, arrogance and laziness. Terrorising our neighbours won't cut it

I am afraid what happened in Bangladesh will happen in Nigeria.

Curfews, shoot at sight and army taking over the streets of State capitals, urban areas and markets.

Parents like me, please call back your wards living in schools and hostels. Our politicians are not humans. They will kill our children and dance over their dead bodies

Bro, I used to bash all Southeasterners before but I know better now.

The Obidients amongst them are the bad eggs painting the rest black. They are uncouth, troublesome, loud and vocal which is why we hear them more.

Trust me, not all of them are bad and ungrateful and I mean it.

Obidients mean majority of Lagosians and Abuja citizens. They are the most educated set in Nigeria. Go and verify.

The Allowances are part of minimum wage. It's not a basic salary but monthly minimum wage.

Others have not conducted their poll. I thought you guys are educated or you cannot read?

You are bereft of understanding on how polls are called in US. It's not every organisation that their polls pass credibility test. What you see from my screenshot is how polls are called because of left leaning and right leaning media/pollsters biases.

I don't see how a Kalabari (Ijaw) man becomes an Ikwerre man......please we are all enlightened here. There is no need of gas lighting to earn brownie points during an argument. .

So the Northerners regarded Kalabari man as Igbo and Ikwerre man as Bini. You are rely confused. Btw I included them in the post you quoted. Go and check.

“Moreover, President Tinubu’s dedication to youth empowerment is a testament to his belief in the potential of young people to drive positive change. His administration’s innovative programs, such as the National Talent Export Programme, the 3 Million Tech Talents (3MTT) initiative and Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) have provided countless opportunities for young Nigerians to acquire skills, gain employment, and start their own businesses.

What's the problem with Southwestern politicians? Must their political capital be on dividing the country along ethnic and regional lines?

Operation kill the opposition by wailing over their failures.

It's only in Nigeria that failures brag and excuse their incompetence.

Although every Tom, Dick, and Harry ought to earn a minimum wage, some employers would argue that if they have live-in maids whom they feed (considering how expensive foodstuff is now) and provide shelter for, they don't necessarily have to pay them 70k per month.

Anyway, I am more interested in state governors and LGA Chairmen paying the minimum wage - everything is expensive now. Any executive office holder who cannot pay it should resign.

Do you know the cost of the food that employees eat in companies?

I need you to understand that I am pointing out the various postulations among Ikwerre historians. The Ikwerre refuse to be yoked with the Ibo,but the Ibo keep on trying to attach themselves to the Ikwerre. Professor Eric in the original post argued that the Ikwerre migrated from Benin but the Ibo keep on arguing that this is not true because of similarity of language, because of this I provided you with another Ikwerre historian who as argued that the Ibo were actually vassals of the Ikwerre and Ibos migrated from Ikwerre to their present locations. Moving from the sea to the hinterland to form new towns.

My personal opinion on this issue is that if people refuse to be associated with you. Accept it as your fate and let it be. Ikwerre refuses to be associated with the Ibo. The Ibo need to accept this and let the Ikwerre people be.

Do you know why it won't rest? When Nigeria shares the common patrimony, especially among the three major ethnic groups, Ikwerres tend to collect the Igbo portion while still denying the obvious fact.
If Murtala could overthrow Gowon's government for appointing an Ikwerre man or Rivers minority as petroleum minister because he regarded them as Igbo says it all.

Nigeria Christians are monogamous. They won't increase like us that are polygamous

Polygamy doesn't increase population. The number of women giving birth does.
If you have 100 Muslim women and 100 Christian women in a country, Polygamy won't make your population to increase but rather, it will decrease by divorce and remarry with attendant child mortality rate.

That is to say the governors are still the alpha and omega of everything in the state.
LG autonomy is still far from being achieved.

No not what it reads. The defense argued that it needs a legislation for the LGA financial autonomy as the constitution didn't spell it out in black and white and that it will be dishonorable for the Supreme Court to legislate from the bench thereby usurping the powers of the Legislators.
Politics / Re: Full Text Of Supreme Court Judgment That Rejected LG Autonomy by LadyExcellency: 6:51pm On Jul 21
You posted the oral argument of the defendant and labelled it a judgement of the Supreme Court. What's your problem self. Imagine making me read through this rubbish without reading the counter motion from the plaintiffs lawyers.

Mind yourself. What we have now as it stands is no LGA elections, no disbursement.

flokii:
NMDPRA is the regulatory authority.. they have their standards and everything to check quality of refined petroleum products put into circulation in Nigeria.

Saying the NMDPRA Chief doesn't know what he is saying is just like saying the country's regulatory agencies don't know their job.. Moreover it's a Northerner heading the Agency so no talk of ethnic bias.

It's the truth. Your regulatory agencies know nothing than collect bribe. Do you know we (a multinational company I work for) made a mistake in tabulation of products properties which were abnormal but NAFDAC couldn't spot the inconsistencies and errors and still approved the product and SON is not helping matters.
Kelvin Emmanuel is right. Our regulatory agencies are quota and inclusion hire.
