This is part of the doctrinal issues that most people neglect, let's together look into the scripture to confirm if the use in the service been rendered to God is right. I had a rational conclusion on the response I got from people who attend church worships where instruments are been used, the conclusion contained this perspective of how they see it which are: 1. David used harp and cymbals to praise God. 2. If you don't use instruments, everything would be boring. 1. Now let's First of all address the issue of David. David did praise God with instruments, yes, "Psalm 33:2 Praise the Lord with the harp; Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings." but where and where did he use this? Was it recorded that it was used in a gathering of the Isrealites (Children of God)? 2. Concerning the boredom of the service, ask yourself this question, "Am I to give myself Pleasure or Glorify God according to His Word? The truth about the use of instruments in worship according to what the Bible says, is we should praise God with our lips "Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." Remember when Paul and Silas were in the Prison "Acts 16:25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them". Also some verses that referred to the saints praising God with their voice are "Ephesians 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God" and "Colosians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." N.B: The early christians were never said to have used musical instrument in worship rendered to God despite the availability of Harps, Organs and Cymbals and even Trumpets. Please if you have any doubt as regards the topic or any other doctrinal issue like tithe, I would welcome questions or biblical facts. |
Mr Troll: Can you do same? I mean come up with a valid information of how you come to exist in this universe?I strongly believe a being had something to do with the creation of this world. The Bible further made me understand that God which is a Supernatural Being created this world. If you choose not to accept the fact that God exist and even created you, how come did you come to exist? There should be a valid reason for every word you use in answering this question. |
It is funny how people understand the Bible... Jesus told disciples to gather together and pray at a particular period in a particular place and that the Holy Spirit would descend upon them. Question 1: Are you the Disciples? The reason for the coming of the Holy Spirit upon them was for a purpose, The Holy Spirit gave them divided tongues "Acts 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them." and we were further made to understand that the tongues that sat upon them were different and each of them got a tongue. They were twelve disciples meaning they had 12 tongues. "Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?" This clearly states that the tongues the disciples spoke, the tongues the Holy spirit gave to them were the languages of the people who heard them. "Tongues Must Be Interpreted [NKJV]1Corithians 14:6 But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either by revelation, by knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching? 7 Even things without life, whether flute or harp, when they make a sound, unless they make a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or played? 8 For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle? 9 So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without significance. 11 Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks will be a foreigner to me." Tongues must be interpreted so if you are not doing that, you hd better because that's what the BIBLE SAYS. The Church of Christ Greets You. |
I have read a couple of post and I think I understand the issue the problem @frosbel has. I think its the issue of Trinity, he actually believes they are One Person but its not what Jesus meant when He said I and my father are one. If that is what was meant then why did He make this statement: Matt 26:38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” 39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” What was simply meant in that statement Jesus made about He and His Father being one is that they have the same aim towards the earth, remember, He is the Son Of God and so why would he still be God? Of course He is a God but He is not God. Concerning Jesus The Christ Pre-existing, its is a stern fact, the bible which is our guide contain many prophecies of the One who is to come and we were also told in this book that He is the Word which was spoken by God John1:1, so @frosbel why then would you be ignorant of this fact? |
Many people make the mistake of having a false belief of Isrealites, who are also known as Jews, to be the same as Christians today but the bible has made it clear and stated it that the Church were the saints gather began in Acts 2, but the Isrealites happened to be one of the generations of Jacob. Heb 7 made it clear that tithe was given as a LAW to the Isrealites to be paid to the Levites. Ignorance would still make some people bring up opinions about Malachi 3:8 but have you taken time to know who this book was written to and why it was written? If you check Malachi 1:1, it was clearly written that the book was written as a "Warning From God To The Isrealites Through Prophet Malachi". If you still harbour any doubt concerning the Topic above, ask yourself this question: Why Wasn't It Recorded That The Early Christians Paid Tithe? |
1st of all... Was the name COZA given to the church the early christians were member of, are people so ignorant that "two wrongs cannot make a right"? How would we have several denominations with different doctrines and happily say you serve God without following what the Bible says. Ask yourself this question according to 1st Corinthians 1"Is Christ Divided?" Romans 16:16 makes us understand that the churches referred to in the bible is the Church of Christ. On the other hand, either you are a member or you happen to be a "Pastor" do you know the function of that office? Do know how the bible relates it to the church? He said God told him not to speak that's simply a form of deceit he must have used severally when with his member and feels its going to work for the rest of the continent and possibly world... Do no be deceived for God is not mocked! Going to church is one thing but serving Him in "Truth and in Spirit" is another, its not by how many times you pray but its by following what the Bible says. For many people who call upon God are not of God. BEWARE IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE!!! |
wiegraf: Why should anyone take y'all seriously? If you happen to be an atheist can you possibly come up with a valid information of how you got to exist on this universe? |
