Jobs/Vacancies / Re: What I Did Yesterday After I Lost My Last N200 During Interview by Lambaman: 9:34pm On Nov 19, 2021
PlanToSucceed:
Like a motivational speaker would say, "the issue is not the problem you are facing but the solution you can think of".

Yesterday was a tough day for me but as a full blooded naija man exposed to hard life from childhood, I immediately found a solution for the problem.

Let me make it brief.

While I'm working hard so to get a job and beat poverty, I'm also praying fervently for God's mercy in my life because a single fame from Him can bury all the years of shame.

I'm seriously in need of a job and so I applied for a vacancy I was in the know. I was called for interview yesterday. The transport fare wasn't even enough but I managed to gather what could take me to and fro. Dressed in corporate, I went. All I had with me was N800 including my feeding. So I spent N400 for food, paid tfare N200 to get to the venue and N200 left for my fro. How the remaining N200 lost in my pocket, I can't tell till now. Can't even tell if a fellow applicant pilfered me.

After the interview, that was when I realized I was without a penny. I searched everything to find the missing N200 but to no avail. I almost cried because of how important the money was (pray against every spirit of poverty). Having not seen,

I approached the first two guys for help but they shunned me. Naturally I don't like begging. I prefer to die in silence than begging openly cos I feel very bad if turned down. After the first two guys snubbed me, as a true Nigerian and full blooded 'kpako', and sportive in appearance, something struck me. Immediately, I folded my trouser upward and to add comic to it, I left the tie still on my neck and in no time, I was on the road jogging and heading back home at around 2-3 pm with my file in my hands.

People were looking and in surprise over the unusual jogging dress. That was how I jogged on major roads and short cuts till I reached house. I can't really quantify the total distance but it is something over 10km. As I reached house, I freshened up immediately even though nothing to eat, I found Garri and sipped. Life goes on!

My prayer: may I make it in this life, Amen.

People, in all you do, work hard and pray against poverty. It is not something to wish even your worst enemy.

Meanwhile, the interview ended on 'we'll get back to you". I'm still waiting for them.

Thank you for reading.

Truly education in Nigeria is useless without the help of God. With all your qualifications and good writing skills, SAPA still hold you. Chai! Bros, you go make am. No give up please.

I am still a Job seeker like you. Please, drop your Aza make I credit you with 1k if you go fit withdraw am. Na only 3k dey my account.

Let's be praying for each others. Bless up.

Family / Re: Her Parents Sponsored Our Wedding, Should I Be Worried. by Lambaman: 5:11pm On Nov 14, 2021
Tonero5200:
Hi.

Honestly speaking am really worried, have dated my fiance for sometime now. So we finally decided to tie the knot.
She suggested we do it this year November and I concurred, so we've been saving towards it ever since.

Last 2 months I made my intentions known to her family, that I will like to marry their daughter. Due to the conversations I had With her parents, I told them I wanted it small.. because am not financialy buoyant.

But To my surprise, her dad said I shouldn't worry about it, they are going to support me ( which is most likely Normal)

(They gave me traditional rite's, which I sorted out by myself)

With the traditional right drawing close, last month I learnt from my fiancee..her parents are planning to buy 2 cow for the traditional and white wedding. (I was surprised)

The following week, the hall she choosed for the reception of the white wedding, has already been paid for by her dad which was about 500k excluding the decorations which they also took care of ( even though I opted we could have done the reception in the church)

But my fiancee told me her dad is inviting alot of well-wishers home and abroad to come celebrate with us.both his fellow staffs and all.

* I bought 2 bag of rice and groundnut oils

* We paid for the cakes

* We paid for drinks

* We sorted things out (invitation cards, pre shoot photos)

But was surprised 2 days to the traditional marriage, more expensive drinks were rolling in.

On the d day of the white wedding, I realised, they cooked more than 8 bags of rice ( coconut, jollof, banga and fried) meats were surplused.
Alot of people came from her family's, while my own families were just there.. they did get the message.

Someone even said it to my mom face. THAT THIS GIRL PAPA TRY O.

please, I don't want to sound like am a bad person or I don't know good.
Offcus I appreciate her parents efforts, but am just a little bit worried.

As a man, won't this come to haunt me in the future?

This one the stress himself unto heaven sent. You no get problem

Politics / Re: Enugu Government To Train 500 Youths In Programming And Product Design by Lambaman: 8:40pm On Aug 30, 2021
Gburugburu2023:
SMEs: Enugu govt to train additional 500 youths in Programming and Product Design

…Graduates 500 beneficiaries

The administration of #Governor Ifeanyi #Ugwuanyi of #Enugu State through the state’s Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (#SMEs) Centre has announced the decision to train additional 500 youths in Programming and Product Design as part of the concerted efforts of the state government to create employment opportunities for about 5,000 youths in the state, in various fields of innovative endeavor.

Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, according to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on SMEs Development and Director General, Enugu SMEs Centre, Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, had trained 500 youths in Programming and Product Design, under the Enugu Tech Skill Project being driven by the Centre.

Hon. Chilo-Offiah explained that “Enugu Tech Skill is a public-private partnership project developed and designed to train and provide a pathway to create new jobs for about 5,000 young people in Enugu State”.

The SMEs Special Adviser said that the successful beneficiaries will have the opportunity to learn either Product Design (UIxUX) or Programming “with respect to your application and choice of programme”.

He added that the programme was structured under the Human Capital Development Loan (HCDL) Scheme which is an innovative loan programme that is intended to solely provide training for individuals who are resident in Enugu State on technical and non-technical capacities in partnership with a private sector firm called “Utiva” (www.utiva.io).

According to him “the Enugu SMEs Agency in partnership with the Utiva will then provide access to jobs (full time, part-time, contract, gig-economy jobs and entrepreneurial support). The funds are then repaid within four months (after the training).

"The Programming (Web and App Development) Training Programme (PTP) runs for two months and the Product Design & Animation Programme is for one month, exclusive of the capstone project”.

Disclosing that the beneficiaries of the second batch of the 2021 Enugu Tech Skill project have graduated, Hon. Chilo-Offiah revealed that the graduation ceremony, which included presentation of challenges and solutions on making apps better, easier to use, and how they can penetrate the consumer market in other states in Nigeria, was exceptionally successful.

“This takes the number of youths trained in Programming and Product Design to 500 with 500 more to benefit.

“His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi understands the importance of human capital development especially for the youth.

“With digital skills being the jobs of the future, Enugu State is in line to have well skilled Techies to support startups and Tech companies in the country and the continent as a whole. To be part of the third batch, register at www.enugutech.com”, he said.
