We had brought the only African to ever win a Pulitzer Prize - Dele Olojede (now the publisher of Next Newspaper) from South Africa, to write the speech. We (Dele Olojede, Nasir El-Rufai, Hakeem Belo-Osagie, Jimi Lwal and Aliyu Modibbo) reviewed the third draft of the speech with Umaru Yar’Adua and made a few corrections. We argued whether it was appropriate to mention that 54% of Nigerians lived below the poverty line in view of the unreliability of our national statistics. It was a great speech Dele had prepared from several intearctive sessions with the President-Elect.
finally, we know where money used to start TIMBUKTU MEDIA came from. anyway, good luck.

I always knew Paris is on the edge.

Two african brothers were actually fighting like area boys near gare du nord station, too late to snap them.

rubbish bin over flowing, the tube station full of spyrogria.

but things worked, if you flying from within EU, your passport would not be checked.

more info updates,

This is just to see Paris from eyes of the locals.

@walter147,

Sorry, I missed those.

Sept 2002 Model.
138,000Km

Single Owner Car: well maintained and serviced.

It just came off leasing contract.

As said if I would be coming to Nigeria more frequently, I would have bought it right away and not advertise to other Range Rover Lovers.

This is a unique opportunity for BIG BOYZ to own prestigious Range Rover HSE 4.4

Price N4.1mill. This is non-negotiable.

The car still in EU. You will pay shipping and clearing yourself.

Shipping cost about N200,000.  Clearing I don't know.

I would have bought for myself but no point having expensive car when you visit Naija once in a year.

I sold my last Range here:

TravelRe: Singapore Sentences Ghanaian Drug Trafficker To Death by landis(m): 12:59pm On Jan 06, 2009
Pennywise:
The convict is obviously a Nigerian holding (most likely illegally) a Ghanaian passport. I suspect Ghanaians would like to have their own pound of flesh for this international embarrassment.
there you go. The guy is Ghanian. Thats where it stop!

http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20090103/tap-singapore-crime-drugs-ghana-06f3cb7.html

Yes, I live in the UK, but I don't see what that has to do with the way I feel.
I'd feel the same way, regardless of where I lived.
UK like most EU stop 'death sentence' because:

1. No state has right to take LIFE of another person

2. Crime can be controlled by counselling, correcting and not simplying killing wishing the crime will just disappear.

If you LIVE in place for long, you abide in their believes slowly.

As for those kids taken drugs; it is failure of society, parenting, community which is same for the fellow selling drugs.

I dont make case for drug people but I DO NOT ACCEPT death sentence is the solution for any CRIME.
TravelRe: Singapore Sentences Ghanaian Drug Trafficker To Death by landis(m): 10:45am On Jan 06, 2009
As much as I like Singapore, this issue of death sentence with DRUGS is a big concern.

I would expect a progressive country to remove death sentence as punishment for 'drug-trafficking'

Death sentence has never STOPPED ANY crime in HUMAN history.

Death peddlars don't deserve to live.
I am appalled at your write-up. You live in UK and abhor such feeling is shocking!

the guy who plans on visiting North Korea(just forget it,its virtually impossible for outsiders to visit that country unless something turns around with the communist govt this year).
there is no problem going to North Korea. I am going in from Beijing by Train.

Only concern is that I need to tell NK Authority when I need to make international call and someone has to listen to all what I say.

Plus am only allow to greet people and no small talks on the street.

But it is an experience of life time.

Bitter sweet experience! Money & personal belongings was stolen from the Hotel room
very annoying. thats why when I travel, I go with things I could do without; I will not be pissed-off if stolen.

And never leave any valuables in your room not even in RITZ.
PoliticsRe: Why Do You Hate Nigeria, Lets Talk, No Pretence. by landis(m): 9:25am On Jan 06, 2009
MandingoII:
Nigeria HATES itself.

Look at the Leaders - a bunch of dumb a@@ men. Whose aim is to money grab as much as possible from the Oil companies and STARVE their own people.

Look at the People - a bunch of cowardly sycophants doing NOTHING to uplift themselves.

Nobody hates Nigeria.

Nigeria hates herself.
well said. No more comment.

RANGE ROVER is simply called 'THE RANGE'.

This is not for everyone, only for VERY BIG BOYS

I enjoy the look on 'Police faces' when the stop me and say: The Range.

OBJ stolen $16bill in only in one sector: Power.

what about other sectors: Oil, Gas, Health, Education.

We never ask 'hard questions' in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Foreign Reserves Fall By $6 Billion In One Month by landis(m): 11:40am On Jan 05, 2009
Thats why a good thinking country would not keep so much reserve while your people are suffering.

If they have used this $6billion to build roads, hospitals, schools, we would see the benefit now and it would also server as investment for our future instead everything LOST in a swoop.

It is criminal neglect.

Imagine, if Gowon had not built those fly-overs, road, all over Lagos during the 70s oil boom.

These same infrastructure have been serving Lagos and Nigeria since 70s.
PoliticsGhana Election & West. by landis(op): 10:34am On Jan 05, 2009
Ghana has we all know recently elected another President in the most peaceful manner in African.

This is success of AFRICA democracy that would encourage others to follow but I am SHOCKED.

There was no NEWS item about this in the WEST. atleast I did not see any.

Israeli massacare of Palestinian not witstanding; am sure if it Ghana election turned into 'orgy of chaos'; the WEST will be all over the place.

They seems to enjoy BAD NEWS coming from Africa and once we have success story; they shun it.

It is time AFRICAN PRESS tell their own SUCCESS STORY: and they should repeat it every 2hrs like CNN repeat it stories until it sink into our heads.

Only WE can change ARICAN. Yes we can!
