Good morning friends,

Please I have a question, my sister that was refused used an agent that is based in Canada. He told her not be checking her application status because IRCC will flag her application for being accessed by a Nigerian IP address and a Canadian IP address. I told her it doesn't make sense for them to do that because obviously the applicant is in Nigeria. The agent discouraged her from seeing anything on the application or from even logging in to see based on this but I feel like it's not true. She also accepted it because she is very busy at work and didn't have to follow the process.

We are planning to reapply after GCMS notes arrive and she is planning to use the same guy (for whatever reason). I want to be able to tell her that she can be checking this time. Friends, have any of you heard of this being a reason for refusal? I appreciate your urgent responses because we fought over this yesterday and are currently not speaking

Thank you

Hello friends,

I hope you are all doing well. My sister that had the issue of refused deferral with the University of Calgary got her PPR on the 14th. We took a gamble and started online, since all her courses had moved online anyway because of the Delta variant crisis in Alberta. Here is her timeline:

Application date: May 21 2021
Biometrics Request: May 22 2021
Biometrics done: May 25 2021
Medicals passed: May 24 2021
PPR: September 14 2021

Submitted Admission letter, proof of full tuition and accommodation payment, SOP, copies of short course certifications done and sponsorship letter from our dad.

Since she has paid accommodation for one year (of a 2 year course) and full tuition, how much should she have to show at the point of entry as proof of funds, and how can she show it? The sponsorship letter said that our dad will be sending her upkeep monthly.

My other sister is a May 15th applicant, still waiting. May PPR come to her and all of us waiting, amen.

Thank you all in advance!

My people, good morning !

My other sister was refused today. Based on personal assets, financial status, and that they are not convinced she will go back based on purpose of visit.

They used an agent and her husband gave her his statement of his car business and an affidavit of support. They had only been married for a few months when she applied. She paid half of one year tuition for a two year course.

She requested GCMS notes on the 14th of August but hasn't received it yet. Will this notes have the most recent update of the VO's notes, or should we order another?

After we get the exact reasons, we will be back to re-apply, with all your help please.

To all expecting, your PPR is coming by God's grace.

My daughter is in a similar situation. Same university. She did not apply for deferral yet, but just sent a mail to the Director of studies informing about the delay in study visa approval ànd that she may consider deferral should the delay continue. He informed her about the virtual option and suggested she can go with it unless she prefers in person then deferral can be considered. She has opted for the virtual and induction commenced today. We are believing she will get PPR soon.

I suggest your sister joins the virtual option will waiting for PPR. The new immigration policy recognises online studies up to this fall for PGWP provided you obtained study visa or have applied before commencing virtual studies.
She will loose a good percentage of money paid should she withdraw.

She can as well look for admission for winter and notify IRCC.

It will surely end in praise.

Thanks for the encouragement! Can I PM you? Maybe they can connect when they eventually arrive there

I think you should inquire more about the school's policy concerning refund ;should there be a refusal after starting an online classes,(we don't pray for this though),what will happen. Their response should guide us

Thanks very much!

first thing first you need to calm down and no that you are not in any hot water. Before the gurus comes around to find a lasting solution,i think u have to take a decision really. i have seen people here who got their admission withdrawn, applied to either same or new DLI and are in canada now. i have also seen numerous cases where people start online, spent even the entire first year here in nigeria and stilll got approval. in short take a decision but try to carry your course adviser along.

Okay, thanks so much for responding!

For starters go to the school website and check for their refund policies in the event of a withdrawal that will answer the question of fees.

Thanks! I will do that as well

Good day my people.

Please we are in hot water o.

My sister applied to University of Calgary and got admitted for September 2021. Paid full fees and accommodation to support her visa application. She submitted her visa application on May 21st and has not heard back. GCMS notes show that eligibility has not even started. To avoid stories that touch, she opted not to start online in case her visa is not approved. She requested a deferral and the school has just today said no. Her options are: withdraw and re-apply later OR start online.

If she withdraws, won't the school notify IRCC and they will cancel her application? I can't even reach them to find out what happens to the fees.

If she starts online, and the visa is rejected, what happens?

We are looking for advice please and thank you.

Nairaland / General / Express Entry- Proof Of Funds For Landing by Lani84: 6:43pm On Sep 22, 2017
Hello Nairalanders,

I applied for PR with my family, so I wanted to find out what constitutes proof of funds when landing in Canada. Those who have already landed, what did you use? Will a bank statement with some of the funds and the rest in cash be okay?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for your anticipated help.

Good day, please I'm trying to print my photocard/centre information for the Nov/Dec 2007 exam but the site is requesting a username and password. Please is anyone encountering the same problem? All efforts to reach WAEC have proved abortive. Thank you
