Hello friends!

Please has anyone paid school fees through Form A recently (like one or two weeks back)? How long did it take for you to be debited, and which bank please?

Thank you in advance

which of the options Gcms notes or entire file

CBSA is a little faster than the GCMS from IRCC in my experience, so the second option is what I would do.

You will most likely have to contact the school, as the admission requirements for the new course you want may be different from what you were initially offered.

Good day everyone.

My sister got admission to Sault College in Toronto campus, but due to her first visa refusal, she had to defer. Unfortunately it's one of those schools where they only correspond with agents. When her agent deferred, he chose Sault Ste Marie campus because there was no space in the Toronto campus for the May 2022 intake. He didn't ask her if that was okay before doing it and he never said a word about it until she got her proof of enrolment letter and timetable a few days ago, and it said a different location for classes. So she would have arrived at the border saying she is going to Toronto but the Immigration officer will be seeing a town 7 hours drive away. Now we have to start looking for accommodation and flight tickets afresh.

On that note, please I would appreciate if anyone currently in Sault. Ste Marie can reach out or if there is a WhatsApp group, to point me to it please.

Thanks!

You can just go ahead and book a new medical exam, the panel physician will send the result directly to IRCC. You can also upload the medical sheet via webform.

Ideally, IRCC should send you a reminder.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it

Hello Lani84,

You don't need to show or demonstrate any POF at the POE. If you intend to, you can have a printed statement in hard copies or as a softcopy on your phone. Note that you should not talk when not spoken to and don't present anything when not asked.

Best of Luck

Good day friends, and TGIF

Please is MYBankStatement a good way to show proof funds at the PoE? Or is a printed statement best?

To all PPR hopefuls, keep your head up! It’s coming by God’s grace.

Hi! Yes she did, she paid for one year out of 2. The school is Sault College. In the previous application she had paid for one semester, but since financial status was one of the VO's concerns we decided to pay for a full year.

Hello did she pay her tuition deposit? If she did how much and which school?

Hi Freinds! I'd appreciate any insights on this please:

Her passport expiry was 2023 and her course is 2 years, so we renewed while it waiting and sent the new one via webform. When she is sending the passport to VFS, does she have to send in both or just the new one?

Lani84:
Good day friends!

PPR dropped this morning at 7:16AM WAT. I am in Canada but I helped my sister with her application. Here is her timeline:

2nd time applicant
Submitted: January 1 2022
Ghost update: January 2 2022
Medicals passed: February 1 2022
No idea when eligibility started
PPR: April 14 2022

Her first application was refused based on financial status and purpose of travel. GCMS notes indicated that there were lump sum deposits in her spouse account and her SOP was poorly written. I wasn't involved in the first application, but with the GCMS notes and advice from fellow Nairalanders, we repackaged and re-applied using the GCKey Portal.

Documents submitted:
All IMM forms
2-page SOP outlining the relevance of the course to her current career (she studied Building but is going for PGD Business Management), home ties are parents, siblings and husband that won't be coming with her, and promotion on return from her studies
Spouse MBS showing savings + printed statement
Spouse Salary account
Spouse payslips
Spouse employment confirmation letter
Her payslips
Her salary account
Her Mutual Funds statement
Letter of explanation for lump sum deposits, explained in tabular form. I didn't add any receipts or evidence, I just stated where they were from and let the narration on the statement corroborate. Like my friend said, 'no too dey shalaye'
Letter of introduction from her office
Her ID Card
Her CV showing the career change
Police clearance certificate
Passport page

We ordered GCMS notes on the 13th of March but we are yet to receive it.

I also reached out to my MP but they said they would check and let me know by the 21st of April.

On the dot of 13 weeks, which is the processing time on the website, we started sending daily emails and weekly webforms, stating that enrolment is in the 15th of April and can they please help. All received generic response. I told her to stop sending emails by that 15th because honestly I was tired of the no response. The PPR email came today.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for supporting and helping each other. Special thanks to @Makano, @Anon123, @Ketima and @Lekiboboe for always patiently answering questions. Nairaland doesn't send notifications of responses so I just found out that you all responded to my query on the previous thread. Thank you very much.

For everyone waiting, God will do it.

Good day friends,

Congratulations to all PPR recipients!

To those of us still waiting, it will end in praise.

If you have mounted an email campaign towards IRCC for them to give you a decision, how often do you send the emails? How long does it take to get a decision after you start emailing, and do you just send emails or multiple webforms too?

Second time applicant, application submitted 1st January 2022, eligibility has started but I don't know when.

Thanks all!

If your timeline has exceeded the timeframe, bombard them with mails as reminder. Hope you have your application number? Cos you need to include that in your mails and webform.

So please don't mind the agent. The ball is in your court. Let me use mine as a lesson. I sent mail and webform to IRCC sotey they have to call me on phone requesting I send my passport to them before dropping PPR in my GCKey.

So no one gets punished for sending countless mails. If your application is on the approval queue, it will be approved. Mails do not make them to change the decision already taken.

See ehn, the bolded is always a worry of mine. My sister's re-application is still very fresh (less than 2 weeks) but I get stressed when I see people saying they send emails 3 times a day. I feel like VOs are only human beings with small power and they will just deny the visa because the disturbance is too much LOL. Thanks for explaining it

LOL. Are you more concerned that Stanbic IBTC doesn't do MBS? Do you have any unexplained lump sum or funds that were there and aren't there anymore? That being said, I think MBS gives IRCC access to a 12months account statement. That's is from the date the MBS was generated backward. They cant see beyond (forward) the day the MBS was created.

LOL I was just curious grin, thanks for responding smiley

Hello friends! Happy New Year! May this year favour all of us.

I am curious about what the VO sees when you use a MyBankStatement...Stanbic IBTC doesn't do it. Do you set a specific period that they can see or do they choose when they want to see? Do they see all your transactions or just the balance?

Thank you guys!

Kankanio:
It’s PPR for my daughter.

It dropped around 2:30 PM but I saw it around 5:00 PM when I was setting up for the NSO.

So, I decided I will not let IRCC rest until they borrow themselves brain and approve my daughter’s application. My application was approved on December 15, 2021 so why was my daughter’s own still hanging?

I started sending mails from mid night and set alarm for hourly reminders. I sent mails to as many IRCC email addresses including Lagos and Abuja. Note I used “URGENT - Application number” as subject. Before today, I used just URGENT. For whatever reason, I decided to add the application number to the subject make dem no talk say e hide for the body of the email.

At 11:37 AM Lagos pleaded with me not to send further emails in order not to fill their mailbox that my mails have been forwarded to the office handling my daughter’s application. That really cracked me up. I shared it with my friend and we were both laughing about it.Tor! I sha told her that they will know no peace until they borrow themselves brain and finalize my daughter’s application.

I stopped disturbing Lagos because my friend said dem fit block me but I just gave them some respite since they had begged but kept sending hourly mails to other IRCC emails. I got busy from 2PM putting up a surprise birthday party for my colleague. It was around 5PM when I was setting up for my NSO I realized that Abuja sent me an email at 2:31PM notifying me that the office processing my daughter’s application sent me an “important letter” and at about 2:32 PM the email from CIC had dropped.

I logged in and there the passport request letter was.

You know what? I had made up my mind that I was going to disturb the living hell out of them today.

Sorry it’s coming now because I had to attend the live session of the NSO. The afternoon session starts in 5 minutes.

God will do it for all of us. I bless God for this family. I love you all.

God did it and it ended in praise!

Hello, thank you so much for your response. We have done all these now, hopefully that will be enough.

viviangogos:
My input would be be if the concerns were all properly addressed in this re submission?
they mentioned
1) The Spouse payslip was illegible; hope you have attached a very clear one now?
2) SOP was poorly documented; Hope someone has helped review the new SOP to be sure it captured the purpose as detailed and straight to the point as possible.
3) Lumpsum; Was this clearly addressed? Make a table on your SOP or LOE to explain the funds you have and plan for the study in a way it can be understood.

I will also suggest in addition to the SOP, you actually write a LOE to address the refusal reasons ONLY. then the SOP will have the other study plan like your background, funds, home ties, reason for Canada and the DLI chosen, benefit of study to home country, etc. hence you can submit a LOE and an SOP. ( well I did this for mine after my initial refusal)

Note: This is only a suggestion as it is not compulsory if you have addressed the necessary concerns on the SOP.

All the best!!!

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Lani84: 4:05pm On Dec 29, 2021
Thanks for your response! We have re-done the SOP, included more documentation and explained the lump sum. Fingers crossed!

purespikes:

Your GCMS notes should make your reapplication easier.
1. You have to explain the lump sum in your SOA, as identified by the VO. Do a LOE for your SOA and explain every lump sum in it.
2. Your spouse's pay slip has to be resubmitted with clear legibility. This should go with showing proof that he can take care of the home front in your absence.
3. Your SOP seem not to do justice to your study plan. You really must convince the VO of your study plan and how the proposed course of study bears positively on your previous academic qualifications and career progression. I think you have a lot of work to do on your SOP.

Again, wait for the gurus.
It is well

My sister got denied a few months ago, but we have received her GCMS notes and are preparing to re-apply.

Does anyone have any insight as to how IRCC handles reapplications? I’m sure they flag it somehow but do they generally ignore them in favour of fresh applications? Just curious and a little anxious

Thank you all
