MissGdope: lol I know the difference between bell pepper ad chilli pepper. I was just trying make the point that pepperoni in Italian refers to Bell peppers not chilli :-) While called peperoncini in American English, peppers of this particular kind, in Italy, are called friggitello (plural friggitelli) or more generally peperone (plural peperoni) like other sweet varieties of peppers, while the term peperoncini (singular peperoncino) is used for hotter varieties of chili peppers. Google it dear. |

MissGdope: not chilli pepper. Bell peppers Chili pepper is: Any fruit of a plant of the botanical genus Capsicum, which has a spicy/burning flavour because it contains capsaicin. (Not all chili peppers are particularly spicy, but all true chili peppers contain some capsaicin, in contrast to e.g. the bell pepper, which is not a true chili pepper and does not.) The first image is that of chili pepper, while the second is Bell pepper.
