I still don't trust this statement because China is very hostile to cryptocurrency.

Normally governments are hostile what they cannot control. China just just took one step further.

I opined then that they (BRICS) could deliberately create their custom-made cryptocurrency they can control end-to-end. They could make it such that only the government has access to mint and use for international trades or something like that. And of course, with rigid limits to the amount that can be minted.

There are many other options that I believe they can come up with.
