You can do both simultaneously after all PGDE will require attending classes but not IGCSE.

Cost implications and duration?

The cost varies from subject to subject I guess it should not be more than 35-40k. The duration varies in most cases months because they will have to review your assessment of the subject in question before sending a mail that will contain the result. Try and visit British council in ikoyi for more details.

To form a union is easy to say.......truth be told it may never see the light of day and remember there are a lot of things involved law, recognition, registration e.t.c I will say it again there will be injustice meted out to staff just hope and pray for God's grace until you can stand on your own in the process of getting understanding get wisdom change is inevitable.

Cooperative society........by the grace of God if the school owner allows it to thrive. Injustice will always exist in these so called schools but just few of them are magnanimous towards staff welfare. I will suggest you try "big schools" where you tend to earn allowances e.g leave bonus, Christmas bonus, medical allowances, annual increment, extra lessons allowances e.t.c apart from your salary and finally cooperative society is paramount because you will not be tempted to spend all your salary saving culture is important. Upgrade!

Visit the British council at ikoyi as regards this or if you work in a school where they do IGCSE its either the school pays for your certification or you do it yourself. After payment you will be given a CD where you will be requested to assess students answers to some questions and to be sent to British council for assessment which usually takes a while so you will have to be patient after which you will receive a reply if you are successful or not......
