I can't do a 2001 civic for 800k. I can do a 98model for 800k and do a 2001 model for about 1.150m. And for any toyota car you can get with 800k. You might want to look between toyota corolla, 98/99, camry 97/98, and maybe some few other corona manual drive.

The dealer would charge you for driving the car down to Lagos, he might charge you say for example 70,000Naira. This money is meant to settle customs on the road, so that they wouldn't impound the car. In this case, you can't drive the car down to Lagos because you don't drive non-duty car. You don't know the manner of approaching the customs. But when you are buying this car, and paying the customs duty say for about 150,000naira. When the car is released at the boarder, you drive it down to lagos yourself without paying anyone 70,000naira and also without any customs or police disturbing you. You can use it for 90 working days and go to anywhere with it without harrasement. But its advicable you register it for security reasons. You know our brothers of the night them I hope I have been able to clearify things to you now.

That's where you go wrong, when you are paying duty for a bus of say 150,000naira. Then you are not paying any driving of any kind which u said 80,000naira. What kind of driving is that? Since you paid your duty. You can drive it yourself. And secondly. When an agent charge you say 150,000naira on the duty of a car, the value of the car determines the duty cost. Might be say 80,000naira. The remaining money are for offices and his own gain. Might end up paying about 50,000naira to office. Where one would say pay me 5,000naira before I sign and so on and so forth. I hope I cleared that out for you.

For a carina E, you didn't specify the year, so I'll give you the budget range from 95 - 99 as 650k - 900k. Depending on what you looking at and for a 2000model babyboy, automatic is about 850k - 980k and manual is about 950k.

And for the Avalon 98 model is about 1m - 1.050m naira, the 2000/2001model which is the same body shape down to 05 that's about 1.4m naira - 1.450m with customs duty and the mitsubushi galant 2000 model is about 950 - 1m naira while the Nissan Maxima 2001 is about 1.1 - 1.2m naira. All cars are with respect to your Specification.

You wouldn't get a good deal for 2005 EOD. Its going to be pretty hard going for a nigerian used of that model at that price. I'll just advice you save up more or better still look in the range of what 1million can do for you.

450k for a toks car, automatic with A/c is kind impossible to land in lagos cause the fact that its auto with A/c, you expect to find it above 1m cfa. Taking average of 1.2m cfa which would be a Nissan Sunny 94model. With exchange rate of 326naira to 1000cfa would make 1.2m cfa about 391k naira. You still going to clear it into nigeria. Which is above 100k. And still pay to get it driven down to you.

So being realistic, its very difficult for you to get an auto with a/c at 450k. Except you forfeit one. Either you go for automatic without A/c or A/c with auto drive. But you could check out some average used Nigerian used. Else; try and increase your budget.

Thanks for the lovely compliment, I'm trying to be transparent to nairalanders who are interested in purchasing a car at cotonou with ridiculous prices. Although, you hear cars are cheaper down there but still there are some kind of cars that are expensive too; because, they're not salvage cars, accident involved car, Roll back Odometer. They're clean title no accident. They're a bit expensive but never compared with nigeria cost of it.

For the babyboy you requested. You might want to be careful with your budget because its too Low. And remember it has got transmission problem, and your budget could get you the 98model which has gotten the problem. Am sure you'll get a nigerian used. But becareful its not one with transmission problem. I don't have any nigerian used of it.
