Any document you do not have, upload your passport in place of it, and join the queue for now. When it's time for preliminary review, you can update what you uploaded.

Hello
Please if the only thing pending for upload is the declaration of commitment , can the person submit just to join waiting list or its advisable to upload it before submission
Upload your passport in place of the SL/BA and submit your application. Once it's time for preliminary review, you can update it to your SL/BA

Good afternoon everyone.

please can you guys help us by telling us if anyone who joined the waiting list around 20 August or so has been called. I think the last person that dropped update said he or she joined 13th of August. Thank you very much
I think they are picking 10 days per batch now. I might be wrong though but that is what I have observed so far from the pattern... And most likely, they are currently on August 20th... So, next batch should be the rest of August before they get into September... And it takes between 2 - 3 weeks to move from one batch to another.

I might be wrong with my observation though

So can I use IElTS if I’m applying as a laboratory technician
I am not sure what is required for your case but I am sure if you read through the chancekante website, you will get all the info you need.

Yes if you’re applying for chancenkarte(opportunity card) or any other German visas
I don't think proficiency in German is required for the OC route.

These are the people who applied long ago before it was restricted
Has it been restricted? Like for real, one can't join the waiting list again?

Hi guys, the rules are getting stricter. They have been rejecting opportunity card visas on the ground of “no proof of German language ”. Stating German language is needed. If you’re not in IT related field, you may want to be very sure before applying.
Oh! Chim!!! 😤

Please when you say full time employment can't stand for Opportunity card, what category are you talking about. is it in regards to prove of funds or what please. will appreciate if you help explain better
Yes. In terms of proof of funds. There are only 3 options: Blocked account, Sponsorship letter or part-time employment.

I was even giving 30days, enough time to arrange for an alternative and submit my application.

Please someone help me with their email?
address

Now that the dollar and euro are dropping drastically, it would have been to my favor
Please someone should assist with the email address of the embassy. @Singlefile you can also go through the thread. I think someone has dropped the email before on this thread.

My full-time work contract documents were rejected and I was just giving 2days to respond.
After all this time waiting and hoping I may scale through and currently the time is too short to make alternatives
Chai! This is sad! 😢
How long were you given to submit your application? I think they normally give 14 days?
If you've gone through the thread, you would have spotted it out that full time employment can't stand for Opportunity card. How do you get a BA or SL within 2 days now? 😕

Omooo! After all the wait!!! 😢

The same to me August 6th.

I don't think health insurance is necessary during preliminary review. You can go with it on your interview date

@Missmarola, the edit was requested to keep my application in the system, standard procedure I guess. So I did submit in July 2025. Thanks everyone for your response and guidance. I’ve initiated the process for a new SL- our heart desires shall come to fruition this year Amen.
Nice. Try as much as you can to speed up the process because you are most likely going to get called in less than 4 weeks.
TravelRe: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Laryfrosh: 7:58pm On Feb 14
Missmarola:
Your date of creation shows 29th of July 2025, but your last edit shows 22nd of January 2026. Your last edit is what counts as having joined the waiting list. So it's either two things;

1. You have been asked to do the preliminary review, which is why you were able to edit and your last edit shows the date it's showing OR;

2. You did not submit in July 2025 and you probably just submitted in January. Which means you've just joined the waiting list in January.
Ah! Calm down abeg o 😂
"Last edited" always get updated whenever you confirm your application every month 😂

I submitted my application on October 30th but my "last edited" is 31.01.2026, which was the last time I confirmed that I still have interest in the process.

On another note, when did you submit your own application? And hope your visa interview went well?

@laryfrosh, I submitted two days after I started the application.
Pls any ideas on sponsorship letter expired? Should I start getting another one or wait until I am called for submission?

Hello everyone,

I read above where someone said he’s been called up for submission and he applied July 31st. I applied 29th July and still on waiting list.
Any ideas on what to expect coming weeks and documents to get? Also the SL I submitted have expired, should I start getting another one from my sponsor?
Thanks @all.
Date of creation is different from the day you submitted. I hope you know that? Did you submit on July 29th?

Seriously I can't predict this process anymore, someone that did interview in December has gotten a response but the one of October is still waiting for a response.

Until now, nobody has confirmed if they have reached the August people on the waiting list. The last one we saw was 31st of July.
This trend used to be very busy last year but now, just hoping for the best
May/June/July guys no dey active for this thread at all, na why the thread dull these past few weeks...

Even some January guys have gotten response.... I am not sure they have gotten to August. I guess they stopped at July 31st. You guys are the next... Probably by beginning of next month.

That should be around March or April.
Omo, waiting is not the issue but getting it right when the opportunity comes. The worse thing that can happen to anyone waiting is to be rejected for a careless mistake.

Anyway, I have not confirmed who is the August list they have called for preliminary review sha
Yes. Or May

I don't think it's 30 days. Most persons here mentioned 14 days. I think the only persons that got 30 days were those who were invited just before the Xmas break. So, the break was included

Hi guys, just wanted to let you know i got my visa today. I went on interview on 13 january and my visa was shipped on the 30th, thats less than 3 weeks.

Final tips for everyone to be successful
- The more documents you have the better, for example if they asked for school leaving certificate ofcourse some people here have had success with just testimonial or waec. I would advise to get all of them as its safer. If you cant get all just do what you can, the more the better.

- Dress well and casual for the interview. When i went to the embassy i was surprised seeing some people dressing like theyre going to a club, wearing slides etc. Wear clean and mature. You dont need to wear suit or anything but atleast a long sleeve shirt and some covered shoes

- The test given during the interview is always mostly repeated either from student visa or from chancenkarte. Check online or ask ai and search for your course and questions for this test and you could actually go there and see its all repeated questions like it happened to me.

- German isnt necessary as most of you know. But knowing just abit of it and saying you are learning will help. Tell the vo youre learning and say some stuff youve already learned like introducing yourself.

- I had no document of jobsearch applications etc. But i wilk exclude this in my case because i have worked in germany before.

- Nigerians have alot of issues with their names and i also faced this issue with the VO to the point she didnt trust or believe i was actually this person. Birthdates and names are veryyy veryyy important. So make sure you get an affidavit from highcourt that is veryyyy detailed as she told me that my affidavit wasnt detailed at all, it said nothing.

- Be calm and confident. The interview is basically just a discussion and most of the questions are from your documents and application

I wish you all the best as this has been a long and painful process, taking over a year for me in total.
Goodluck to all of you and i wish you the best
Congratulations Bro.
Just to be clear, when they mention "no job applications/interview" as reason for visa rejection, I don't think they are referring to job applications made specifically to companies in Germany. I think they are referring to job applications/interviews and work experiences one has had in his/her chosen field of study/expertise. What do you think? Could you please shed more light on this. Thanks.

Thank you so much for response and advice, Do you know if possible to pay for ZAB in naira ( Nigeria Card) or how I can pay for it ? I have created bund ID account
Yes. You can pay with your naira debit card. I paid for mine with First Bank MasterCard. It's way cheaper!

Good evening everyone, is physics Education on Anabin? I have searched within my capacity, I couldn't find it there or should I just go for the ZAB?

I need advice please 🙏 am already 3 months on waiting list
If you have checked annabin and your university doesn't appear under your course (ensure it's exactly the same course and degree). Then, I will advice you go for ZAB. ZAB takes about 3 months to be processed. Hopefully, it will align with the time you get called for preliminary review.

Missmarola:
Sorry about the confusion, I mistakenly checked the requirements for another visa category instead of opportunity card.

However, I have some questions I would like to ask about documents that was submitted physically during the interview

1. For those who used the B part what documents did you take along if the birth was not registered before the age of 18. Did you use local birth extract or just affidavit?

2. For people whose parents don't have Drivers license or passport what signed identity card was submitted at the time of interview?
I think the same documents you submitted online should be the same documents you go with for the interview. I don't know what extra documents should be taken along. Maybe someone who has gone past this stage can educate us on this.

Hello everyone, I joined the waiting list in July and I have been booked for my interview in the 2nd week of February. Please I have some questions for those who have gone for their interviews.

1. How did you book your flight reservation for visa (interview) purpose. I am worried that if I make payment for a flight now and the embassy delays, that would mean that I lose my money. So, are there websites where one can make flight reservation without making payment.

2. Did you book a round trip? If yes, when was your return scheduled for? Is it for like 3months or more?
Wait! Flight ticket is part of the requirements before going for the interview?
