Talk2Bella: Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an update regarding my application, which was rejected for two main reasons.
First, there is a discrepancy between the date of birth on my WAEC certificate and my other documents. I had submitted both an affidavit and a sworn declaration of age to address this. Their position is that I started school too early. I have already sent an email explaining that I come from a teaching household and that I did, in fact, start and complete school quite early. Unfortunately, WAEC no longer corrects dates of birth, so there is nothing further I can do on that end.
Second, they stated that my original MBA certificate was manipulated. I have responded to this and provided them with the official email contact of Ahmadu Bello University so they can verify the certificate directly with the school. I believe this verification should have been done before making such an allegation.
My biggest concern right now is that my original MBA certificate was not returned. It is the only document that was not given back to me. I have written to ask why this was withheld and whether it was intentional. I am really hoping it has not been misplaced. Damn! Sorry about this 😔 |

Programming › First Completed Project In 2026 by Laryfrosh(op): 3:14pm On Jan 29 |
A product designer that I once worked with on a particular project sometime in 2024, reached out late last year to talk about a project that he had loved us to work on together. The client wanted to build an EdTech platform where career opportunities, jobs, internships, etc could be shared, and students, job seekers, etc could apply for these opportunities. He shared the design templates, we jumped on several calls together, and finally, we had a deal. Today, we have the final version of the application going through testing, and upon approval from the client, the apps will be shipped to production (mobile app for students/applicants and web app for admins, schools, organizations, etc.). Link and screenshots of the final version of the application attached. https://edu-tech-web-app-9esy.onrender.com/

Aderonke2025car: Good day everyone, I joined waiting list last year October 29 almost 3 months now and hopefully I will be ask to submit my application in next 3 to 4 months. My question now: 1.is German language necessary for Visa? 2. Does the language increase the chances of getting Visa? 3. Do they ask for it at interview stage?
Although I started learning A1 on my own which is not enough so I planned to register with language school for A1 to A2 but my busy schedules make it a bit challenging but I don't mimd dropping some of my activities if all the above Questions are Yes.
Thanks in advance for time, advice and response. 1. No. It's not necessary 2. I can't say but I don't think it affects your chances of getting the visa 3. Someone mentioned on this thread that he was asked, he answered "NO. Until he gets his visa. Then, he can start learning" and his visa was granted. |

qtguru: I think reading sicp and compiler red dragon book is a waste of time, his goal is to be an Enterprise dev not a system programmer, this is something you read, if you are that passionate about low-level. But the MIT is not a bad idea though Hello Boss, I once stumbled upon a quote someone made on your comment here on NL, where the person was advising about SF, and how he got deep into it in Canada, and is still getting something out of it even while in Nigeria. I have been trying to get back to the quote but I can't find it. Could you please check your mentions and share, so I can get to see it again? Thanks |

Diceman8: All you need to submit for school report: Testimonial for jss and sss Waec/neco I'm confused. What about FSLC? We don't need this one? Prior to this moment, no one has ever mentioned anything about JSS cert/testimonials. Generally, it's not even something that is usually required. |

Please guys that have scale beyond the preliminary review stage, can you help confirm if BECE was required to scale through? |

Tomkito: Yes, it's part of the necessary documents. Is BECE not same as FSLC? Or do you mean Junior WAEC certificate? |

Alikeychuks: I got the first mail on the 3rd of Jan and I logged in and out of the portal though there’s no message if to continue waiting or not. Even the wait time is no longer showing on my dashboard then they sent another one yesterday saying the same thing including automatically deleting my application in 14 days time if no action is performed Ah! |

mojolajesu: Hello,
When you log in, what is the timeline you see on the waiting list? Has it reduced from 6-12 months?
Also, when you log in, do you view your application? Like open and view it or you just log in and log out? I checked and mine has reduced from 6-12 months to 2 - 6 months. I think it's the same for everyone. |

Alikeychuks: Good morning everyone, I was sent a mail yesterday that I’ve not processed my application for 46 days and it would be automatically deleted if it has not been processed by then. I want to know what this means cos I’ve been on the waiting list since 27th October. Meanwhile I do log into the portal and I usually see “ you’re on the waiting list” so I want to know what this means and if anyone here has encountered such mail before. Please the gurus in the house I need your advice on what to do I think they normally send this mail at the end of every month. You are just required to log in and confirm that you want to remain in the queue. That's all. |

qtguru: I use Grok for everything even recommending resources, I don't really know everything but for Chrome extension, I don't know, it's usually a hit or miss but not something I'll advise spending much time on especially career wise. Oh! I kinda took this advise of yours. Looked up YouTube and Udemy and noticed that most tutorials on chrome extension aren't so big. So, I just went ahead to add it to my profile on upwork. Within a week, I got an invite for a gig, submitted my proposal and I finally got my first gig from upwork 😎 It has Supabase (DB), next.js (for web app, both FE and BE) and chrome extension. I just hope and pray I deliver it soon enough. So, I can get my first review on upwork. Will also love to look into Salesforce soon Thanks Boss for always being helpful. |

Talk2Bella: Hi everyone,
I got feedback from the embassy today, one of the corrections they're asking is to upload the resident permit of my reference in germany, the reference i submitted is in america, not sure how to go about this.
I do have colleagues who're willing to do this, I just wanna be sure it won't contradict my application. I also just cancelled the apartment i booked, I booked it a year ago and would have been charged this year, so my question is, is this the person's resident permit they need? not sure they'd feel comfortable handing it out.
They also requested for a parent's attestation/affidavit and a reconciliation of names, {one name came before the other in waec and testimonial}.
Anyone here who's scaled through the resident permit upload should pls help out. I believe this is preliminary review stage, right? Please when did you join the queue? |

anyimontana: would the content of the SL contain the sponsors account statement?. Because I uploaded the declaration of commitment, and they said it needed correction during the preliminary review. Or do I also need to add my own personal account statement? Oh! I haven't gotten to this stage, and I don't even plan to use SL. So, I wouldn't know. |
