Please if you are going to the visa office for the interview, kindly go with additional documents for back ups. They deny visa for weak motivational letter and recent Affidavit too. Check all spelling of names and other information correctly and do your corrections on time if there’s a need for it(maybe 6 months prior to the interview). The Visa office is getting stricter day by day

Yes it's fully recognized, both the course and University, I studied Elect/Elect Engineering in the University of Ilorin. Based on ChatGTP response, they had added Proof of Job search on their checklist on their portal, which I didn't see on the checklist they gave me for the appointment, which was a major concern. Also, I should have gone with my employment letters to show my proof of experience. I think they have done a little tweak to the process, so everyone should take note, for those who are preparing for their interview.

I don't think there's anything like Proof of Job search on the checklist... At least not on the checklist on my own portal after preliminary review/before appointment...

That’s where most people get it wrong, ask chat gpt the two pathways of opportunity card and you’ll understand what the point system we are talking about..

Not everyone is accessed on the point system, if your degree and university is fully recognized either by checking the Anabin website or doing a ZAB evaluation, then you’re accessed using the skilled worker method which requires only your university degree, otherwise you’ll be accessed using the point based system which checks every other thing including employment, language, etc

Atleast this is the whole method of the opportunity card on the German website unless Nigeria is doing a different thing

I have noticed a pattern, if you are going through the point system, it’s better you write the goethe A1 than IELTS or TOEFL on the basis of language. I think they prefer your German integration to English.

Identity issue: Surname misspelled in testimonial and LGA birth certificate and affidavit for the correction of names and age declaration are too recent to support my history (weird).

LGA Marriage Cert: they couldn’t or wasn’t able to substantively verify it within the scope of document verification. Suggesting forgery/fraud.

These are bogus claims and I am yet to decide whether to appeal or not.

Anyone knows anything about appealing?

Did they state on the mail or portal that your visa was rejected before your passport got to you? Or you can only get to know about their decision when you receive your passport?

I don't understand what they mean by "affidavit too recent"

If they spot a mistake in any of your documents during preliminary review, they will be the ones to tell you to swear an affidavit to correct it. So, how is it an issue that an affidavit was recently sworn to correct a document?

Thanks. I was under the impression that it is an important requirement for chancekarte application. I do have a Goethe A1 language certificate from 2018 and a B1 certificate of participation from 2023, though. I hope this won't be an issue.

Lol, nothing serious. They requested for reference passport data page and Meldebescheinigung. I also had to do affidavit to support my primary school certificate. My first name isn’t on it.

Yes, that was the first submission but they requested for more documents from my reference and some corrections. I’ve done the final submission now, so, I’m just waiting for them to get back.

I think student visa applicants don't go to the embassy... I think VFS handles their interviews... So, we can't say how they handle prepaid envelope and passport photograph matters...

I don't think anything changed. Still same process. Mine was just a bit different. I was tested in both Financial Accounting (my course of study) and IT(my current profession). Basic questions for both though,and sadly I can only remember few questions from the tests.

Accounting -
What are liabilities?
What is a Balance Sheet?
What are trade receivables?
Calculation for Gross Profit margin.
Calculation of Revenue.
A course in school and the lecturer that taught it.

Computer science -
Difference between RAM and storage.
What is an operating system and it functions.
What is an IP address?
Calculation on the space on a system. If 30GB is used out of 140GB, how many space is left.
If a file downloads at 30MB/second how many seconds would it take to download a file of 600MB?

These are the few questions I can remember at the moment.

Interview -
This isn't like the normal interview we know. I wouldn't even call it an interview. The word "interview" makes it so serious. I would just say they ask questions about your journey, documents/credentials, your job experiences, the route you are taking and how you will be accommodated. As you are answering the questions, the VO is typing in the answers. So, not the usually oral interview, and no need to be tensed. Just have knowledge of what I highlighted above.

Finally, Incase you are expecting the VOs to be whites, just like I was, they aren't actually whites. They are Nigerians like us.

Hello Brothers! I was an opportunity card applicant and by God's grace I am in Germany today. I want to give some vital information that will help you when you move to Germany. The 3 most critical things are:

1: German Language. You will need atleaste B1, B2 if you can, without this it will be very difficult for you to get even a part time Job. the only job you can get without language is warehouse larger work. Germany is a very good country, but you need the language and If you know it the sky is your limit. If you come here with B1, you can switch to ausbildung if you are unable to find a suitable job, as most ausbildung places require B1 atleast.

2: ZAB Recorgnition. If you really want to find a job in Germany in your profession when you move, ZaB is very important as employers will ask you for it during the recruitment process. So my advice to you is even if your degree and university are in annabin database, pls also do ZAB, this is important. Yes you can get your visa without ZAB if your degree is in annabin, but you may not be able to get a job without it in Germany. So it is better you do it now.

3. Always plan for your accommodation, because, you must have a registered address on your name in Germany before anyone can employ you. it is called Anmeldung. Germans don't play with it. my advice is as you are moving to Germany ask the person you want to stay with if they can register your anmeldung with their address, if not plan for your own accommodation, as you cannot do anything in Germany without this address anmeldung. infact that is the first thing employers ask you about after work permit.
