In the wake of the the rape allegations leveled against COZA founder and pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo by singer, Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola, a Facebook user has come out revealing how a popular Makurdi based pastor sexually harassed her.

It all started when Pastor Dave Ogbole posted a picture of him and Pastor Biodun on his Facebook page showing his support for the clergy man who has been entangled in many rape allegations by his church members.

Pastor Dave posted the photo saying;

My loyalty is stronger than correctness.
I run to the battle, right or wrong, we never leave a comrade alone in battle.
It is one for all, all for one.

His post angered his followers and friends who condemned it, urging him to take down the post but their advise fell on deaf ears as he kept on replying their comments until the bomb was dropped by one Nguter Uja.

According to Nguter, the clergyman touched her breasts in her father’s house and also said she was sexy and had sexy eyes.

The market was built by first civilian governor of the state, late Aper Aku.

In 2003, the market suffered two major fire outbreaks that resulted in the loss of property worth millions of naira. The unfortunate development rendered jobless many who had built a living around the thriving market. Again, in 2004, another blaze razed the market, forcing relocation by traders who had become wary of the recurring inferno. Four years ago, another conflagration tore through the market, licking in its fury valuable goods and property.

New Incentives-All Babies Are Equal (NI-ABAE) Initiative, a registered NGO in the health sector and The Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to continue implementation of its conditional cash transfer (CCT) program to increase demand for routine immunization in North Western State of Nigeria beyond 2020.

Last month, NI-ABAE Initiative signed a smiliar MoU with the Nigerian government through the Ministry of Budget and National Planning where it was agreed that NI-ABAE Initiative will support routine immunization system by engaging in conditional cash transfer, social mobilization and defaulter tracking to raise demand for immunization in primary health care facilities.

The organisation is also expected to support the State Primary Health Care Development Agencies (SPHCDAs) in Zamfara State, Katsina and Jigawa states by vaccine supply review, aiding top up vaccine transportation, community mobilisation and other support requested by the agencies.

The MoU with the FMOH, which is for a duration of 2 years and expected to elapse in 2021, has the endorsement of the Federal Ministry of Health to continue the implementation of the CCT program beyond 2020.

Under the new arrangement, the Federal Ministry of Health and NI-ABAE Initiative will collaborate and work together to achieve greater accountability and ensure greater coordination of NGOs registered with the ministry, support NI-ABAE Initiative programme and potential scale-up in 2020 dependent on study outcome and share information on cash monitoring procedures, data and results.

The MoU also states that the parties shall encourage the exchange of information and develop cooperation in many areas which includes relevant knowledge and data sharing between the ministry and NI-ABAE Initiative support to NI-ABAE initiative to map NGOs working in the health sector in Nigeria and support to host national review meetings on health based NGO governance. NI-ABAE Initiative had gone ahead to support the review meeting even before the signing of the MoU and recently donated office items to strengthen the setup of the NGO technical working group.

Both parties also agreed to develop cooperation in the support of monitoring of NI-ABAE Initiative conditional cash transfer program at implementation locations by the FMOH team as well as FMOH support to NI-ABAE Initiative at no financial or staff cost to FMOH such as written recommendations to relevant government and non-governmental organisations.

NI-ABAE Initiative CCT program gives mothers of eligible infants who receive routine immunization the sum of N500 for the first four mandatory immunization visits and N2,000 for the last visit.

Nearly 500,000 cash transfers has been disbursed to the caregivers of over 100,000 enrolee infants eligible for routine immunization in their intervention clinics worth over N350,000,000 since the commencement of the program in 2017.

The cash transfer compensates for transport, loss trading income and waiting time. NI-ABAE Initiative commit to continue to raise demand for routine immunization through innovative approaches like the CCT.

On Wednesday, the State Security Service announced a nationwide crackdown on individuals allegedly caught posting inciting materials on the Internet.

The SSS said it had recently observed that some social media users were distorting Nigeria’s history to promote ethnic violence and tip the nation into crisis, a development it said must be urgently reversed through state interference.

SSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said in a statement said that some “unpatriotic” Nigerians have been using social media platforms to make “unguarded public statements and/or use the social media platforms to instil fear in the minds of citizens”.

“These are reflected in the misleading statements and articles being circulated among unsuspecting members of the public. Such inciting materials oftentimes are designed to make or convey false accusations by one group against the other. They also resort to skewing historical narratives to suit their objective of masterminding ethnic violence in the nation. So far, some of the culprits have been arrested,” Afunanya said.

The SSS said it was “determined to ensure that the tribal chauvinists and mischief makers do not continue to exploit socio-political differences and Internet platforms to threaten the peace and stability of the country.” The service said regional and community elders should not only desist from making “unguarded statements” but also help shut down all ethnically-charged rhetoric by persons in their respective domains.

The SSS vowed to “sustain the apprehension and prosecution of defaulters,” because it would not relent in its quest to prevent crimes and keep Nigeria as an indivisible country.

According to an anonymous family member who spoke to Lasgidi Online, Kelvin Iorfa was kidnapped last night in front of his house on Atim Atedze street Nyiman, Makurdi.

The many battles of embattled Peace Corps National Commandant, Amb. Dickson Akoh may not be over yet as he has yet again been dragged before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over claimed fraudulent activities.

The group, Good Governance Agenda (Gombe State), has in a petition to the EFCC Chairman, called on the Agency to investigate a job scam amounting to the sum of 54 Million Naira involving the state Commandant of the corps, Ambore Enoch, who is under investigation by the Agency.

The group in a petition made available to our reporter, have averred that the crime was committed in connivance with Amb. Akoh, stated in their petition that the Peace Corps boss had taken of the 54 Million Naira, the sum of 18.7 Million as his share in the scam which had applicants applying for in existent job openings at the corps.

According to the petition signed by its president, Mr. Bitrus Auta, this same scam has been replicated nationwide with the National Commandant’s consent and active participation in the fraud.

“As already established by the diligent investigating carried out by professionals in the Commission, N18.7million of the amount taken from applicants was transferred to Peace Corps’ Headquarters in Abuja. It is therefore our firm belief that Amb. (Dr) Dickson A. O. Akoh has questions to answer in this regards. We have been in touch with our colleagues in other states and the same pattern of fraud was repeated with the state commandants making similar remittances to Dr. Akoh’s account”. The petition stated.

They have further alleged that the National Commandant is believed to be backed by certain National Assembly members whom he believes can stop any investigation into the matter.

“He complicated the crimes of extortion and obtaining funds through fraudulent presentation adding the crime of bribery to is as he has repeatedly bragged about how he has “sorted” members of the National Assembly (House of Representatives and Senate) who should have held public hearings to expose how unemployed youths were swindled with the promise of jobs with the Peace Corps of Nigeria. His position is that the lawmakers on his payroll can initiate motions to stop your Commission from successfully investigating and prosecuting him”. The petition

The want to hike the school fees, which is about to take effect, shows that the students are never put into good consideration. Who doesn't know that the rate of students, who find it cumbersome to foot the fees, surge as the day goes by?

Instead of increasing the school fees, I think it's essential that faulty facilities be repaired, and unavailable essential facilities be provided, in order to ensure a comfortable learning environment; and, also to aid the normal learning pattern, so proper understanding can be achieved.

Before I got admission into RSU, I, through personal effort, understood certain programming language. I didn't bother to continue with it, because I thought when I get admission to study Computer Science, I'll keep the study of programs intensively going.

But, immediately I got in, the school itself killed my zeal for studying programming languages: no provision for testing codes, no standard computer laboratory to explore as a computer scientist.

How many times do we use the supposed laboratory for studies?

On this effect, I'm of the opinion that the decision towards the amount of school fees to be paid in Rivers State University — the hike in the school fees — should be revisited.

Let's look at it from this angle; there are parents who get sustained with the little money they accrue from menial jobs just to make sure they're not bereaved of food, because of poverty. These parents literally always count the years remaining for the graduation of their child(ren) to check how long they'll continue to squeeze to secure a certificate.

Is it minimum wage? It's really not enough to effectively cater for a family.

Do the universities now place more value to the financial benefits, instead of pursuing a good learning environment — and considering the financial stands of most students?

I'm sure, that's it!

Look at the nook and crannies of the school, you won't say there are no areas which need proper attention. We incessantly hear complaints about the economy, but students still struggle towards paying their bills.

These words are written to touch few areas of the reason why the school fees shouldn't be hiked!

A lecturer in the Political Science Department of Benue State University, Makurdi, one Mr Aondona Mkor has been reportedly sacked by the institution over a rape incident involving a female student.

Onikosi Modupe, a 19 year old Undergraduate Student of Microbiology has been given back to the needy in her little way she can.

This August precisely 18th and 19th of August for the Upcoming/outgoing Ileya, I'd be on the streets of Lagos feeding at least 100 beggars and less privileged.

The Benue State House of Assembly has served an impeachment notice on the Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.

Impeached Speaker of the House, Terkimbi Ikyange announced this after an emergency sitting of the Assembly today in Makurdi.

The House alleged the embezzlement of Local Government funds to the tune of 33 billion naira, purpoted cornering of State funds, citing the investigation of 22 billion naira at the EFCC and the rampant spending of State funds in search of party platforms to contest and other issues...

The House which accused the governor of gross underperformance without reasonable projects to commission, announced the suspension of 15 of its members saying the Honourable Members would not sit back to see the governor plunge the state into chaos.

According to a report by social commentator, Ukan Kurugh, some people who are loyal to the Federal Government were planning to impeach governor Samuel Ortom during today's sitting.

His post reads;

The Benue State House of Assembly this morning again, has come under serious attack from both camps of the divide. It is gathered that last night's secret meeting was held by some people who are loyal to the FG, to facilitate impeachment moves against Gov. Samuel Ortom. The youths as reported, on hearing this, trooped to the state House of Assembly complex at 5am to block the place, but the Police sent from Abuja to rather aid the impeachment are right now clashing with the youths and vigilante groups at the gate of The Assembly. Tears gas is fired at will to disperse the crowd as I write this.

This is coming as result of the impeachment of the speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange and the defection of Governor Samuel Ortom in to the PDP.

Due to the recent cabinet reshuffle that affected some Commissioners and Advisers in Benue state, Governor Samuel Ortom has again disengaged the Executive Chairman of Benue Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Chief Mrs. Mimi Adzape-Orubibi.

According to reports reliably gathered by Lasgidi Online, Governor Ortom has also relieved Mr Richard Agwa, General Manager of Urban of his services too.

They were asked to hand over to the most senior director in their respective offices.
