The Super Eagles team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup have been allocated jersey numbers.

According to Completesportsnigeria.com number allocation was announced in a video clip published on the Super Eagles’ verified Twitter handle on Monday.

Skipper of the team Mikel Obi retains his number 10, Odion Ighalo kept his number nine jersey, Victor Moses was handed number 11 and Ahmed Musa number seven. Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong got number six and five respectively.

Barely a year that floods rendered so many people homeless in Makurdi, Benue State, here comes another bad experience for Makurdi residents as flood hits some quarters during a torrential rain that lasted not up to an hour today.

A Makurdi resident who happens to be one of the victims cried out on Facebook. The rains in Makurdi have just started and people have started to experience floods already.

This is to alert the Benue state government, BENSEMA, and all relevant agencies including NGOs like “Keep Benue Clean” to put necessary measures in place in order to forestall the reoccurrence of last year’s flooding that rendered hundreds and thousands of Benue people homeless.

Oluwafemi Solademi is a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

He owns and rears eight cows with numerous sheep. He currently operates a private ranch at his Ibadan residence.

When asked the reason for venturing into cattle rearing, Femi declared, “I observed Yoruba people are not really into cattle rearing, so as a Yoruba, I have decided to make a difference in Nigeria”. He further stated that during his NYSC days,he made friends with some cattle rearers from whom he learnt a lot of things about cows, which eventually piqued his interest in cattle rearing.

Fulani herdsmen has struck Benue again.

The herdsmen early this morning attacked a Catholic Church, St. Ignatius Quasi Parish killing 2 priests and other worshipers who went for 5:30am mass in a village at Ayar Mbalom in Gwer East Local Government.

It has been confirmed that the bodies of the dead are been brought to St. Theresa's Hospital Makurdi.

According to Mrs. Orubibi, the assessed Taxes/Liabilities for Eco Bank from 2009 to 2014 stand at N168,580,407.72; Lower Benue River Basin Authority, N225,574,331.52 (2011-2014); Nile Drill Technologies Limited, N4,967,307.39 (2014-2015); Ostrich Bakery (Nig.) Ltd, N47,834,380.00 (2009-2014); Access Bank Plc, N141,359,956.93 (2009-2014); United Bank for Africa (UBA) N186,227,256.35 (2009-2014). These assessments border on PAYE, WITHHOLDING TAXES and Levies.

Speaking after the exercise, the Executive Chairman said BIRS obtained a warrant from the High Court in line with Section 104 of the Personal Income Tax Act, 2011 (as amended) and section 41(1), (3), & (4) of the Benue State Revenue Administration Law 2015 to seal the aforementioned Companies/Organizations for default. She added that the Law provides for a fourteen days period of response. If the defaulters don't respond after the lawful fourteen days period, the properties will be auctioned.

Some Customers who spoke to Newsmen during the exercise expressed satisfaction with the closure of default banks, lamenting how banks deduct their monies at will in the name of Withholding Tax, Vat, Commission and so on without remitting to appropriate authorities.

Residents of Gbeji, Tse Akaanya and Tse Hiityo where Fulani herdsmen invaded last week Wednesday and Thursday, killed more than 50 people and destroyed properties worth millions of naira have accused the Nigerian Army of colluding and leading the Fulani militias to attack their villages.

Narrating their ordeal before the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Prof. Tersoo Kpelai who took a team of journalists to the communities to asses the level of destruction and commiserate with the families, Mr. Sunday Kulegwa and Iortaver Idye (the most elderly person in Gbeji town) all pointed accusing fingers on the army noting that army personnel using official vehicles were not only spotted on the scene of the attacks with the invaders but also participated in the shooting and killing of innocent people.

Similarly, in Tse Akaanya and Tse Hiityo all in Lumbuv council ward, Hon. Timothy Iorfa, Councilor representing Lumbuv ward, Austin Damsa and Terkaa Agera who witnessed the attack maintained that, men of the Nigerian Army in their personnel carriers and other army utility vehicles mounted with launchers and other sophisticated weapons were seeing shooting and killing people why the Fulani militias followed the troops burning houses and carting away with other valuables.

Reacting, Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Prof. Tersoo Kpelai condoles the family of the deceased saying it is worrisome that innocent people are attacked and killed in their ancestral homes without any slightest provocation and promised to liaise with the appropriate authorities to investigate allegations of military involvement in the attacks.

Prof. Kpelai also assured the communities that he will meet with the Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency to discus the way forward and see if Government will come to the aide of the displaced.

A serving House of Representative Member from Benue state, Rt Hon Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende, who is serving two terms from Sankera ,Ukum LG yesterday commissioned a motorized borehole in his constituency.

He commissioned the borehole at NKST Gbeji.

According to some people from his constituency, Hon. Udende has not done enough as a representative but since 2019 was fast approaching he decided to drill a borehole.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Lolu during his diary section last night revealed to Big Brother that he was molested at the age of 5 by their housemaid and it went out on for four years.

According to him, the housemaid subjected him to lots of punishments whenever he refused to comply with her orders.

Lolu who promised to share more details at his next diary section told Big Brother that he decided to share his story to inspire the confidence of people who are victims of child molestation to come out and speak about it.

After a heavy rainfall today, shops at the popular Ariaria Market in Aba were submerged in water as traders continue to count their loses.

Reports gathered by Lasgidi Online reveal that this is not the first time flood will be affecting the market.

Recall that in 2014, patent medicine dealers at the drugs section of the market lost goods worth over N2 billion to the flood. The traders alleged that flooding of the area was aggravated by a building erected on a water way adjacent the market close to the portion of the State Fire service.

This obstructive structure is reported to be owned by the son of a powerful former government official. The flooding, the traders said is further made worse by the deplorable nature of roads in the market and the Ukwu Mango area which the last administration in the state claimed to have rehabilitated.

A pro-democracy group, the Northern Alternative Forum, NAF, has declared that President Buhari remains the best presidential candidate from the region for the 2019 presidential election.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the National Chairman of NAF, Mallam Gidado Ibrahim said other Northern groups should stop searching for another presidential candidate for the region as President Buhari is the only one from the region that is most qualified.

''After reviewing the outcome of meetings held recently by the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, and other interest groups in the North, we in Northern Alternative Forum have come to the conclusion that shopping for a credible presidential candidate other than President Muhammad Buhari will only come to a dead end." he said.
