NGX ASI AT A CRITICAL POINT: A MAKE-OR-BREAK MOMENT
The Nigerian Exchange All-Share Index (NGX ASI) is now at a critical point. The weekly structure continues to deteriorate, forming higher lows (HL) and lower lows (LL). A close below 96,961.25 in the coming week could make the Nigerian stock market increasingly vulnerable to decline across many stocks. Hence my previous post to be cautious in the market.

However, looking at last week's closing volume on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, it seems the momentum to drive the index further down is waning. If the volume continues to decrease as index declines, we may likely witness a false breakout.

I understand but also know that a journey of thousand miles begins with one step as they say. NAHCO started from somewhere and current price sounded the alarm as records show here. I have read all the pages here from page one to present and it took me two months. I saw a lot of transitions, agreements and disagreements. Even when Pa Emma spoke strongly against bua cement in favors of wapco many months ago but today Bua is still ahead of Wapco even after many years. So I understand. Unity Bank is negative but just wait for the suspension to be lifted and you will see plenty full bids
You want to compare NAHCO with oando.
I can't see any similarity.
Yes money can be made in any stock, but I think oando should be compared to the like of japaul and co.

But Oando talk is not basically on fundamental but on Wale and co. Did you not see the last results released?
If a company is having a negative equity over years (different from one off thing that some companies have of recent as a result of forex loss), you want to be careful.

New suckers are born everyday, experience is always the best teacher
You really have time today o, oga ema.
I think osita has said the whole truth about this oando.
To me, it is just a waste of time discussing fundamentals with people who have mainly been in the market during bull era.
They will tell you, fundamentals might not matter as long as the share price is rising. And they are right to certain extent.
I will advise you leave this oando issue and discuss some other companies.

If dang refinery knows whats good for them, they better forget Nigerian crude and market, buy abroad and sell his products abroad. Nogeria is not a serious country. Its still in the hands of evil men.
Dangote is making all this noise not because he loves Nigeria.
It is purely for him to maximize profit. If it is possible for him to ignore Nigeria crude and market,I am not sure if he would be this agitated.

You are free to say anything. It is because you come here to make money to pay your bills which many don't have.i made my protest sound on the last election and still stand with the ones protesting now.Humanity is not just about me and my family .You type will want to commit suicide if nse crash today
It is you that will commit suicide and not me if nse crashes today.
And you think Kenya will be better off in the long run because of that protest.
Go and ask Egyptians how their country is faring today compared to those years before the uprising.

Yes I was of the same opinion when labour closed the doors of banks and shut down the national grid.Next time you run into them. You come down and make sure you clear them from the road as part of your rights
You have just exhibited what is in the mind of most of the protesters.
I only hope you are live at the protests ground and not just supporting them from the comfort of your house.

with due respect that is your opinion. No one is instigating it.It is hunger induced unless you don't believe thr is truly hunger in the land because you and yours are seeing food to eat.The level of hunger now in nigeria is unimaginable even myself know what it cost me now to feed my family. It is equally evident here now as how people now view stock market as a place for short time earnings to meet needs..Do you know my friends in government work who called me last term to help with school fees for thr children. The number of well looking nigerias who approach you daily to assist with money to buy food.Oga the hunger is real from people I least expect them calling for money to buy food.Look at the business within your area that was doing well and how it is looking now. IT is not everything that is politics
I understand there is hunger in the land, but I think the protesters should also understand that they cannot force everyone to join the protests..
Blocking roads and preventing others from doing there legitimate business is not within their fundamental right.

It is unfortunate what is happening. It is avoidable by just the government leader to just pretend to talk to the youths directly even if he doesn't mean it.The show of force can not stop it.The whole population of nigeria army/police is not up to 2million I know.In as much as I wanted peaceful protest but inside us we know it is not possible because a hungry man can not act peaceful in the mix of plenty plus the large number of uneducated neighbours up north. Then wike is being irrational. He doesn't understand the mix of people living in Abuja. All Nigerians are represented in that city.
What will it cost the president to talk to Nigerians directly at this time and make promises. And initiate some cushioning polices immediately. Do you know the government could have turned this protest to a big carnival all over the country instead of spending billions in trying to surpress the voices of the governed

If I was wike I will set different venues/stages in abj.Invite artist, provide food/drinks,stand by ambulance. Then announce earlier before the protest started to protesters that I will be joining them to collect thr demand and forward to the president. If possible declare work free days during the duration. Make the whole thing a big carnival....my opinion
With due respect, most of the instigators of the protests are not interested in peaceful protests.
What most of them want is civil unrest, anachy and much more.

The source - Shareholder loan -equity conversion

What it was used for - Debt repayment ($342M is c. N512B)

The effect - Zero borrowings and jump in Equity

Reasonable enough for me as SEC is yet to approve the RI (Notes 17, pg 12).
Thanks, could it be that the owner have already deposited money for the RI

The company did better than the group in terms of turnover and profit. There should be some explanation for this.

Was the right issue cancelled? 😄 This would cause the outstanding shares to balloon to 188 billion units. Then, if buyers are looking at equity that would amount to 2.4 naira per share when distributed across the huge OS.

It seems they are also involved in currency speculation, as their cash flow statement shows a huge 200 billion from forward call/put options (whatever that means).

Despite good products and increasing revenue, their operations is a value destroyer. undecided
If the money had come from the right issue ,that should have led to an increase in OS which is not the case.

I disagree. Money is the real power .was it power they use win election. It was money power that won them election. The people is the greatest power which you can use money to make them allign to your side.If he decides to source his crude from outside. And declare his products for export only nothing anyone can do than to negotiate. As long as not criminal accusations is hanging on his head. The governor of adamawa at a time made products from his farm for export only....the red general
The petroleum refinery business is a highly competitive one with tiny margin.
Selling his product abroad will reduce his profit margin and might even end in a loss.
The refinery was built on the understanding that they would have a ready-made market for its products.
Competing against established refineries for market share outside will be rough.

But where is Tinubu in all this? He is behaving like Buhari - quiet when the house is burning. Maybe his own Aso Rock cabal is not briefing him?
This is where I thought a Tinubu president will be different from Buhari. His silence on some pressing issues is disheartening.

I’ll just drop this here cause sometimes we’re too emotional as Nigerians. This same Dangote:
https://x.com/emekabk21/status/1814131174253772851?s=46&t=S-fB0C8yRxjxeCDpRFi4rw[/quote]And you think the person that wrote this was not emotional.
To me , nothing is new in what he said, it is all about the old long hatred against dangote by many in the country.
Why didn't ibeto start his own cement production in the country when importation was banned according to some people?
How many private companies got licence for refinery in the country even before dangote? Where are the refineries or is it that dangote also stop their refineries from working?
Dangote definitely is not perfect but most of the allegations against him are also faulty in my opinion.

BullBearMkt:
Nigerian crude oil (associated with BRENT, UKOIL), is one of the best in the world and more expensive than WTI (USOIL). If the Dangote refinery sources all its supply from Nigeria, the quality will be high, but if most of their suppliers are from abroad, well the allegation about lower quality may likely be right.
grin grin grin grin grin
According to dangote group, the ioc will not sell crude directly to them, instead they referred the company to their trading arm making price to be unnecessary higher in addition to the allegation that they will also add some premium including a $5 on every barrel of crude sold as NNPC premium.

"Dangote Refinery, as well as some modular refineries like Watersmith Refinery and Aradel Refinery, are producing between 650 and 1,200 PPM. Therefore, in terms of quality, their products are inferior to imported ones,”

Ahmed added that the country cannot risk dependence on Dangote Refinery by suspending petroleum products, especially Automotive Gas Oil and Dual Purpose Kerosene, DPK.

These two quotes speak volumes...

My stance is that you don't cut off your head because you have headache
smiley
That was a reckless statement from someone in authority. Even if it is true, demarketing dangote product at this point is not the way to go.
I am tempted to believe that a lot of people are actually working against the actualisation of local refining of petroleum in the country for selfish interest.

Thanks oh. Na how I take do the calculation.
PAT is N7,736,984,000
OS is 6,000,000,000
If you divide 7736984000 by 6b you are going to get N1.289 which is the eps at half year.
You will need to multiply this by 2 to get the 258k that was stated there which is the forward eps.

What is stated there is annualized which is also the forward eps of 258k or N2.58.

Forward EPS of N5.16 and forward P.E of around 7huh?

At Nosa, make you dey calculate eps by yourself o so that you will not enter bush.
UCAP forward eps is not N5.16 but N2 58 and the forward P.E is way higher than 7 that you quoted.....

From TA knowledge, this stock will soon shoot out of the flag and not likely returning for sometime to come.
