Israel tried stealing land from Southern Lebanon, just as it has stolen land from Palestine and Syria.

When Israel failed in its attempt to steal land from Lebanon, it went on to start and fund a war where southern Lebanon tried breaking off from Lebanon. Thanks to Hezbollah, that too failed. Israel still hasn't taken its eyes off southern Lebanon though.
