Any need to go along with original certificates at the point of submission for sighting or will the admission letter suffice?
No need. Just go with the photocopies.

I have the same challenge. I might go with cash and pay through cash office.
If you decide to follow that route, you will find the below link helpful

Compliment of the season brother, that section 6 I just wrote 800k naira equivalent to rand. Payment for what? You don't need to go any bank.just write amount that available in rands equivalent.
@Femiaction, Compliments of the season to you too bro. How is the family? Thanks for that, that is clear now.i av 2 payments to make:momentum health plan and school fees.both av option of online card payment. Also, what about d valid return or onward ticket number section?what am I going to fill there bcs I learnt flight itinerary should be booked a day b4 submission of d visa form. Finally, I'm I submitting d relevant pages of d form alone(pages 1-7) or d entire 20 pages? Sorry for the questions,i learnt those people at d embassy are crazy indeed!
I am going to UCT in Feb. The online payment option is useless with the new restrictions by CBN except u have a dollar denominated debit card linked to a well funded dorm account. I guess we just have to hope that the form A option works.

Okay just did that. There was no email in the Form 19 but I got it online. I mailed them will call them tomorrow (a south african number). any idea where I can get a nigerian number to call them? thanks for the help and tips
The appeal is processed in SA so you have no need for a Nigerian number. The following documents must be submitted:

1. Written representation- stating why you overstayed
2. A copy of the declaration of undesirability (form 19) that was issued at the Port of Entry in SA
3. Copy of the relevant pages of the passport, including bio page

If the applicant overstayed due to medical reasons a medical certificated must be submitted.
The appeal must be e-mailed to: Overstayappeals@dha.gov.za

For confirmation that the appeal has been received applicants may contact IMS Deportations at +27124064985

Peace.

Okay cuz she went to VFS and they directed her to SA consulate for her to address it on tuesday. So does she need to appeal by writing/typing a letter? will that be appropriate? And also pls can someone help her submit the appeal cuz she doesnt stay in Lagos, will that work?. And the truth is she missed it cuz her connecting flight from cape town got delayed and when she landed in Jo''burg before she cud check in, Arik had already stopped checking in. too bad

Going to the embassy is of no use to be honest. I have a friend who faced a similar challenge. Your aunt should check the forms given to her at OR tambo airport. It contains the email address of the dept in charge of appeals. the letter(stating why you overstayed your visa and all supporting documents) should be sent to that email address. There is also a number to call to confirm if they received your email...hope this helps smiley

Please I need advise on this. My aunt was granted visa to SA, and was granted 3 weeks. However her return flight was on a Sunday(4th week) by 11pm, she missed the flight and returned the following day, she has however served with a notice that she ''overstayed for 2 days''. I know there are new immigration laws in SA, any idea of how much she might be fined and what to do pls? thanks

According to the new rules, if you overstay your visa by 1-30 days, you receive a ban for 1 year. Paying of fine is no longer acceptable. The only remedy for your aunt is to appeal to home affairs within 10days after receiving that notice stating the reasons for overstaying or serve out the ban. The form is self explanatory as to the procedure for appeal.
NYSC / Re: Steer Clear Of Relationship(s) In NYSC Camp And During Service Year by lawyer2011: 11:42am On Nov 19, 2015
ogaprime:
In My Own Opinion Steer Clear Of Relationship(s) In Camp And During Service Year

I served my fatherland from 2104-2015, so I have little or no experience about service year, so this goes out to those yet to serve.
I had in mind to write on this topic before batch B 2015 prospective corp members were called for service year but something happened of recent that “jingered” me to put up this write up. Relationship here I mean, a love relationship between a male and a female and as small as relationship is, it cannot be removed from service year.

In my own opinion, I think all prospective corp members should steer clear off relationship because from what I gathered, most of such relationships end on the day of Passing Out Parade (POP). Why is this so? its because NYSC is the gathering of people from different parts of the country. Majority go back to their “before NYSC” base thereby putting an end to such relationships. I am for friendship and not for relationship.

In my own opinion, if you are in a very serious relationship before going to camp or for service year, I will advise you to stay glue to your relationship, no cheating, no hanky panky. tests of every kind will hit your relationship and it will be for your own good if you constantly assure your partner with a clean and open hands and with unchanging behaviors and attitudes that you are still in a relationship with your partner.

In my own opinion, if you are single before going to camp or for service year, I will advise you to remain single throughout service year but be on the look out for responsible, matured, future focused individuals or person who you think can be a good life partner. If you are unable to see these kind of persons, its of advantage that you will still remain “clean” as possible for your future partner.

These are the following reasons why you should stick to your partner at home or remain single:

++ different backgrounds: prospective corp members come from different backgrounds, religions, tribes ,cultures etc. starting a relationship during service year might lead to nowhere due to difference in backgrounds.

++ different place of primary assignment: this is for those thinking of coming to camp to hook up with new babes or guys. “what camp has joined together, let PPA put asunder ”

++ different pre-nysc location: people come from different parts of Nigeria for service year. I know of some that met during service year and it was “we love each other so much”. Few weeks after POP, “we love each other so much” turned to “to your tent O Israel”

++ no heart breaks or emotional trauma: some people don’t know how to play football but they had the mind set to be like C.Rolando and Ronaldinho during service year breaking hearts, twisting hearts, deceiving hearts. Steer clear and you won’t experience this.

++ savings: using my personal experience, I was( and still is) in a relationship before my service year and I stayed true throughout my service year. If I had gotten into “service year” relationship, I wouldn’t have saved some reasonable amount out of my allawee.

++ respect for being self disciplined: most “service year” couples make use of each other to the core. This is for the ladies because most of them do give out their time, money, energy and body to the “service year” relationship thinking it will lead to the altar. if you discipline and control your self during service year (i.e. no sexual activities), your current or future partner will respect you for being truthful and trustworthy even without much surveillance. Even you yourself will respect and place more value on yourself.

++ lose lose situation: you are in a serious relationship before service year but you decided to get involved in a “service year” relationship. Later on you changed towards your "home based" partner because of your service year partner so as just to “eat your cake and still have it”. After POP, your service year partner goes back to his/her base forgetting about you. Its at that point you remember you have an home based partner. I am sure the home based partner won't continue the relationship with you again. At the end, it’s a lose lose situation.

I hope my 2kobo can make you buy time to think very well on having relationship or not during service year. At least, in my own opinion, steering clear of relationship during service is for your own good.

++in your own opinion, feel free to add yours...

My brother met his wife in camp so your opinion is not entirely true

Affordable? I was of the impression that postgraduate studies at DUT and UKZN were free? Please enlighten
Postgraduate studies in SA is not free. I don't know where people get that impression from. Even if u are doing a research based course you still have to pay additional fees.

Try DUT or UKZN. They both run affordable Masters by Research Programs

Cput is tuition free for Mtech by research but you still have to pay for registration, thesis, international level which will amount to about 15,000rands

I did a certificate program at their IT department. What would you like to know?

How good is their IT? The options they have in MTech IT (it is not quite clear on their webpage)? How to get a supervisor?
Thank you @lawyer2011
in terms of standards...they are quite good because i know friends who got jobs at big tech firms like mtn south africa, hauwei technologies even before graduation(they are south africans oh...i cant say much about foreign students because you need permit to work in South Africa if thats your plan). Application is ongoing but since the mtech is a reseach based, i will contact my lecturer friend to get first hand information and give you feedback on monday

Hello Wifee,
So sorry to hear about your predicament though I can only but offer you legal advise. Under nigeria law, It is criminal for your husband to contract any form of marriage whether traditional or court marriage while still married to u. This is because once a couple contracts a court marriage, the law presumes that they have chosen to be subject to English Law which allows for monogamous marriage only.
