please,it's urgent, how can I pay for my GREhuh??
Regarding GRE you can use your Naira master card and accept whatever rate they use, if you have a domiciliary even better.

Just be careful with whom helps you with this because if the payment bounces back, they can seize your result.

the first stage is basically the aptitude test followed by the BAT. they could have applied via a mail cos there 're different divisions in Kpmg and each division has different methods of applications
What they typically do when they need to fill a role urgently is to have the applicants take the aptitude test, then they proceed straight to interviews. Hence, the BAT and AC is cut for vacant roles.

Like I said earlier, visa was approved today in Lagos. 11am appointment

Since I booked the appointment on the 20th of April, I have not been able to sleep well. The interview was all I could think of, so I prepared using part 7 transcript and pages (1-200 and 251 to the end). I fasted and prayed for 2 days too.

I couldn't even sleep well this morning. Woke up around 4am.

I got to the embassy around 9:20 and immediately joined the queue. During the verification process (before entering the thumb printing and interview room), the guy in front of me was sent back to reapply because his confirmation number on the DS-160 he brought didn't match what they had in his appointment. So people whatever you do, if you must edit your DS-160 after submitting and a new confirmation code is generated just re-schedule your interview with the new confirmation code to avoid unnecessary gobe!

After the security checks, we were directed to the mighty hall. I must commend people on this thread. ha! you guys have done such a good job that nothing was left to my imagination. Everything was exactly as described. I felt like I had been there before, which really helped my anxiety and nervousness. After moving the queue, it got to my turn, but before then the family of 4 that was interviewed before me were denied, so were the two females that flanked them on the left and right. I kept singing different songs in my head as it helped fade out the environment and ease tension too. I don't even remember the window number I was interviewed sef but the lady had deep blue eyes and wore a straight face.

ME: Good morning *with a genuine smile* *then passed my documents (Passport, SEVIS and I20)*

VO: Good morning, tell me about your plans *she looks at my I20 for like 3 seconds and dropped it and didnt touch it till she returned it to me**she then types for some seconds*

ME: I plan to travel to the University of Bleep for my masters degree in Technology Management. After which I will return to Nigeria and use my skill set in assessing the various sectors for shortcomings and improving on them.

VO: Who will be paying for the program?

ME: Ma mere, she is a bleep bleep bleep

VO: *types for a bit*

VO: Have your I20. Your visa has been approved, you will be needing this to pick up your passport

Shikena!

I think what he is trying to say is dat after u submit u can retrieve all d data filled in d previous form but u will b issued a new ID n in his case he hasn't picked a date yet which is better for him. i understand dat once u have submitted ur form n u go back to it dere will b two options to click either confimration page or retrieve application..... it's like he doesn't need to start filling d form all over again only if he has some little changes to make... I stand to b corrected tho.
Whatever he does his confirmation number must tally with the one he submitted earlier (which is already on their record and used as a gate pass).

I saw a guy that was turned back (go back home and told to reapply) because the confirmation number he had and that on their record didnt tally.

Hello House...

VISA interview is tomorrow, and I want to know what you guys think about the reply to the question "what will this course do for you" .....Course is Technology Management (blend of Tech and Business).

Answer: It will help me assess the Nigerian sectors for shortcomings and analyse ways of improving them using technology.

Sorry. As regards your first point, Banks advise that customers abroad should transact at the currency of the nation in which they reside.

Now, this means for certain, my dollar denominated card linked to my USD domiciliary account would certainly work especially in the U.S. I just have to fund my domiciliary account here with dollar cash. Shikena.
with the new cbn directive, im telling yyou tthat wont work. confirm with ur banK

I don't know if they change such currency as naira here like that but you can always load your cards with money before coming.
Let me jump on this...

1) Your domiciliary debit cards issued in Nigeria wont work over there

2) Your Naira debit cards will be charged at black market rate if you use it over there, but it will work. The exchange now depends on the bank you use; Stanbic is lower, GTB is a no go area.

GOD HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! VISA APPROVED today at US Consulate, Lagos.
To all dem gurus and bosses wey dey help us for this thread, your boy is loyal and I am saying thank you.
I am really in a happy mood so I am sharing a very long epistle (my interview gan gan was short). IT’S MY TESTIMONY, PLS BEAR WITH ME.
Left Abeokuta for Lagos at about 5:46am for the 11am appointment. Got to the Consulate at about 9:35am and was immediately welcomed by an agent who started lecturing me on the procedure and the ‘new formalities’. Well, he also offered to help me keep my stuffs with a little change so I followed him to his shop. He then said I need a coloured copy of my passport data page and he will do it for 1k, then I cannot go in with the passport ID I brought as I have already used it for my application. The consular will need a more recent picture different from the one I used for my DS-160 and that will go for another 1k5. I knew they were 41tens but I still called my boss, Emmy @Holudarey01, to confirm.
I tried to calm my nerves in his shop and I left to join the queue at about 10:30am.
We passed through the normal verification and clearance and we got to a room where the male folks had to off their belts. I no too get big body like that but I thank God sey I don chop some food and my trousers don balance for my waist or I for they hol my trousers with my hands. So guys abeg wear trousers wey balance for your waist o.
AND THEN we got to the hall. Did my biometrics and the woman wished me good luck which I claimed with a big thank you.
The first thing I did was to fine tune my hearing to the voice of the VOs, to determine my ‘hearing proficiency’ and how I would need to adjust when I move close.
I then I noticed that the hall is a visa denial hall, they just dey share that blue paper like sey dem dey invite people for programme. I was very scared and practically SHAKING. I could not really pin point any nice VO. As a matter of fact, I used about 20 minutes in the hall and I could only count about 6 people that were given.
And then it got to my turn, while I was waiting for the VO to finish up with another applicant, I was checking my head for a bible verse but I sha finally laid hold on Ex 4:12 – Now go therefore, and I will be with thy mouth and teach you what thou shalt say.
Na like this the yearn go;
Me: Good morning sir
Not sure he answered.
I passed my passport, I-20 and Sevis receipt to him immediately.
VO: Place your right four fingers on the scanner
Me: I did
VO: Typed a while and checked my I-20( I-20 has been folded into two so he was still perusing the upper part.)
Why did you wanna school at the University of Minnessota?
Me: Well, It’s one of the top schools in US and ranks 16th in Plant Science according to usnews.com. The Department offers courses in Plant Biotechnology with is in line with my long term goals and on top of that, I am very convinced that the Professors are well experienced and they will do a great job to equip me with the necessary skills I need to succeed when I return to Nigeria to work for an Agricultural research institute. (at this point, I don dey gather small small confidence)
VO: Do you have any family in US?
Me: No sir, No sir.
VO: Typed for a while and then flipped to the second part of my I-20
I can see you got an Assistantship, what are you gonna do to keep it?
Me: Well, I must be committed to work for about 20 hours per week, maintain my status as a full time student and also have a CGPA that is not less than 3.0 out of 4.0 ( The guy just dey nod)
VO: OK, what are you gonna be doing? ( I no understand am, so I said sir with my ear titled to the window)
He repeated and said, Your assistantship, what will you be doing?
Me: Oh! I will be working with Dr Rex Bernado in Plant breeding and Molecular Genetics and together we will be developing new varieties of corn (he turned away and started typing again, I continued) that are better adapted to wide range of environmental stress and also high yielding.
Na so the guy just dey type o, paused for a while and put my I-20 in my passport and then continued typing. Na so I dey look am, for my mind i be like guy no just try am! Fear griped me o. I just know sey i no dey collect your blue paper. I sha dey try say some prayers.
VO: When he finished typing, He removed my I-20 from my passport and said YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED and it would be ready for collection on Friday.
Come see correct smile on my face.
He did his POE lecture but he don forget wen I gast enter US so he asked his colleague. Told me and then passed me my I-20
Me: Thank you sir.
I left the Consulate at about 11:30am

Two babes I met outside were denied, one said its her second time and she will go to Abuja for the 3rd one, na so i dey advertise Nairaland o. Anoda guy in the car to abk also recognised me and we chatted, he was also denied and its so pathetic that he’s supposed to resume next week.
I give God the ALL the glory, his faithfulness is ever true, always on the safer side when you have him as a friend. Many thanks to my big boss @Holudare01 for always referring me to NL to check out this thread, this boss single-handedly sent my about 15 study materials for GRE preparation, sent me the transcript of all approved visas in part 7, (i jark that stuff o, I jark am die) always ready to put me tru wen I’m confused about anything. Boss, God bless you, I am trusting God that you will also share your testimony soon.

All of una wey still dey wait for your interview, there is a GOD, HE helped me today, He will help you too. All the best.

BTW Agric folks no dey this thread ni? na so so chemistry, Engnring, biosciences, geology, MBA, MPH, I.T and so on full here.

And if you dey Abk, come make we celebrate o.
Your responses were quite articulate and you hit every nail on the head. This is a complete 100

My interview is coming up next week, mind if I send you a PM?

Hello house, trust you all are good. I need help/assistance on two things.

I got an admit since February, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

1) I was sent a mail yesterday to choose a concentration for my course, and back it up with an essay. I have a long history in IT and Assurance but I want to branch out. So I will be taking the Supply Chain Management Concentration. Now the help I need is points on why supply chain.

2) I have scheduled my VISA interview for May. Any tips? (I have read extensively a lot on this thread and I think my problem is anxiousness to get it over it)

Thanks, I appreciate in advance.

H2Ossss:
thanks bro... but this should have come b4 not after the personality test. still awaiting my fate though.
I know right, but personality tests are more expensive to administer compared to psychometrics. It is more expensive because the questions are tailored specifically for each firm. The marking guide is unique and different with each firm as well. Basic assessments work one size fits all, so the questions can be recycled for other firms too and the answers are either right or wrong. For personality tests, there is no right or wrong. Taking the PwC personality test as an example, there are 936 possible answers. This kind of assessment requires more effort and thinking and as such costs more.

It will cost the firm a few extra zeroes if personality test is done at the onset considering the large number of applicants.

Pls pwc guys in the house ednut1, therealadonye, funkystanl does anyone know how the personality test is graded, could time taken to complete the test matter even if it's not giving time constraint since the instructions say u should need 20 minutes to complete it? Pls I need answers, can't stop thinking about that regret mail cus I just don't get it. I need answers to know what to improve for subsequent personality tests. Thanks
I might be able to help here, as I have been in the recruitment scene for a while now.

The personality test is simply a test to figure out if your personality traits are in line with the ideal PwC person; innovative, outspoken, gregarious, team player and honest, etc.

Because of the kind of role they play as consultants, being extroverted and focused is a major trait they look for, that's where the personality test comes to play. They check to see if you can relate well with people, help others, respect their views, etc while voicing your opinions and going with what you think is right even if you hate it or everyone tells you you're wrong.

If a substantial amount of your answers contradict what they want, it deems you unlikely to fit in the firm.

Personality tests also take account of time. They expect you to select a choice from reflex, as that is a great indication of your actions. When you spend time thinking of a scenario, they get the impression you are trying to cheat the system.

Next time you are taking a personality test, try to understand what the firm values and considers important, as their answer key is based ENTIRELY on the firm's values and ethics, not on what you think is right.
