Patechezz:Dear Patechezz! A police report was not part of the documents I submitted. The required documents are stated clearly on the website, although people may tend to provide more than required they absolutely not necessary. Also, I hear people talk about prayer and fasting and all that, to be frank, I am not religious and would not like bringing up religious sentiments when it comes to things that have a well-defined process. To shock my religious fellows here, you do not really need to pray or fast or do any of those things to get a visa. The process of visa application is well defined and the requirements are well stated if you provide all the genuine documents required and with sufficient means of sustenance, I tell you whether you believe in God or not, you will be granted the visa. Unfortunately, our people have been blinded by religion to the extent that they want God to do for them what they can do for themselves. Ciao Tuti! |
Adedeji19:Dear Daniel, trust you are doing great! Most times I do not comment on issues but I felt compelled to do so because of the question you asked. First, the situation here is not as easy as it seems. It is difficult for those that understand the Italian language to get a job, imagine your chances of getting a job without knowledge of the Language. Although it is not impossible but very difficult and would take some time too. Second, you are allowed to work for only 4 hours and most employers are very cautious of that and if you are opportune to get one, you will not be allowed to work more than 4 hours. Third, Nigerians here have created a bad image and it would take your ability to stand out and make a difference to convince Italians. Lastly, if you really do not have a means of income or sufficient money to take care of your needs for up to 6 months, I advise you consider carefully your options as most of our people here are beggars (for guys), prostitutes (for ladies), and drug pushers (for those that have the gut). All the same, I wish you the very best of any decision you come up with. Ciao Amico! |
The booking days for Study Visa has been extended to include Wednesday. You can try to book now via the web portal as there are several available dates. Also, Visa application starts August 10. |
I do not understand why things have to be different when it comes to Nigeria. I obtained my DV (as my degree is from the US) from Italian Consulate in San Francisco in less than 1 week. Just hope things would start working fine for our dear nation. |
@Mj, I appreciate your optimism and your faith in the system. I share the same sentiment with you. However, we must learn to accept reality. The truth is that the commissoners and staff at PSC do not know exactly what happening and funny enough you are making unrealistic predictions. I respect your views but we must be able to face the truth without emotional, religious, or otherwise sentiments. Let just wait and see the turn of events. @all, you are in my thoughts and prayers. And please, this recruitment is not a death-end. No matter what happens, we must carry on with ourselves and use the experiences we have acquired to spur us to greater heights. All is well! |
@arizona, the whole process was done in Abuja. |
@jzado, we were initially 9 from my state for the physical/medical screening but only 6 made it to interview/screening of certifcate. For Lagos state you asked, I don't know anything about it because I am not from there. |
The whole drama is becoming fun. One of the commisioners at PSC confirmed to me that they have concluded everything and have given the list to the minister for final approval last week. All these asertions goes to confirm what he said. However, @sahaal, please how many is the total list for both ASP and Inspectors because the comissioner said that with the final compilation, it is no longer within their jurisdition to do anything. Just musing; is it that the list was tampered with at the minister's desk because he said the selection was 2 per sort code per state? |
@Aigobaba, perm sec is a rank in civil service and thus the possibility of having more than one persons with such rank is there. Please, kindly ask question when you are not clear about an issue. |

Just to confirm @mj assertion about 2 per states. I was told by a perm sec in PSC that the compilation of the list is on going and the yardstick for the selection is the best two for each state as @mj rightly said. The Lord who started this good work in us, would bring it to completion. |
Words are not sufficient to express my joy....congrat all. You all are always in my thoughts and prayer. |
The Lord will fill our days this month with his light. He will illuminate our path and grant us the grace to achieve that which our heart desires. Happy New Month my friends. |
@Aluta2, Model GIS methodology reply solely on ICT infrastructures. Infact, I was told that they are synchonizing the NIGCOMSAT facilities with that of the Police, so enhace tracking of calls and disaster management. I can tell you frankly that things are changing in our dear nation and I thank God am part of that change. God bless Nigeria. |
My friends The truth is that the number called for the physical/medical screening is not sufficient for the work. I visited ZTE, contractors handling installation of the ICT equipment natonal wide for the Nigeria Police and was told that the equipment is being installed in all police formation both in state and local government area. Thus, they will be need to have ICT personnel at all of those location where the equipments have being installed. Also, my thinking is that, the delay in the release of the list is because they are not through with the installation. I was told the project is in the advance stage and they will be concluding it soon. |
@ Don Tim, I applied and was there at the physical and medical screening. Although, I have heard different information about the recruitment, I was told by a staff of PSC that the next stage would be training which will take place at Police college, Lagos. Also, with the recent recruitment of nimc, it clearly shows that the number of people that were shortlisted for the ICT professionals is unsufficient. The government is interested to having a comprehensive database of Nigerians and the Police would be using it in combating crime. |
Good Morning All I have being following this trend for quite some time. The optimisim, expectations and above all the patrotism shared on this trend, cannot be compared to any forum like it. There is new orientation I see from everybody in this forum, that is loyalty and the willingness to serve. I implore us to contiune with this spirit and the Lord who have started this good work wil bring it to completion. My thought and prayer are with all involve in the recruitment. God bless Nigeria. |
