I was introduced to a weighloss method which is intermittent fasting and I was advised to commence with a 3 day water fast to boost my metabolism and other added benefits. I did it last week and continued with intermittent fasting. I must say, it really worked for me because I already lost 4kg in two weeks (joined it with some little exercises).

The only issue now is that I've noticed I've been belching/burping excessively since I started this. I don't usually belch unless I take carbonated drinks so I'm taken aback as to the cause now. Even when my stomach is empty I still burp a lot. I tried googling it but they made mention of irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, or too much stomach acid, of which I don't have any other symptoms to support these diagnoses.
Note: I haven't taken any gaseous substance or any food that can cause gas.

Just wondering if any professional here can shed more light on this or profer a remedy. It seems a bit hypochondriacal to visit the hospital because of something as simple as belching.
