If U are an Engineer and watched that interview, you will be irritated at the level of incompetence displayed by a supposed Professor in practice.
First he said there was no design for the road which is crazy, then the question is which design was approved for construction what specifications are they using for construction since there was no design?
How exactly did they arrive at their over bloated cost of $5m dollars per kilometre since there was no design?
Also the way he was talking shows there was no EIA on the project if not they would have seen these issues they claim are arising now forcing them the realign the road
I have never seen a project with so much incompetence and waste.

The Engineering Dedign should be a cimprejensive one that captures all secrions of the project and the costimg..

Why the rush to award the project to a contractor (business associate of the president) without a comprehensive engineering design and costing!?

Let's stop giving excuses for acts that promote recklessness, corruption and mediocrity!
How can they even hold the contractor to any standards when there is no engineering design that he must follow?

Go to school and learn project management or construction instead of just yapping from ignorance.

I work for a global semiconductor manufacturer, when we are designing very large projects there are allocations for change and most large projects are segmented for both design, construction and commissioning, the initial design, changes, segmented deployment are all influenced by the scope established at the start of the project.

This 750km costal road has a well defined scope which was well established from mid 60s, to bring a costal road along our shores from Lagos to calabar

There is an important distinction between a final cost and an estimated total project cost.

Phased construction should not mean that the government cannot explain the project's overall financial exposure.

The project was awarded to Tinubu's friend, Chagoury, in France. No bidding, no transparency, no nothing. This same Chagoury (whatever the spelling is) has been given another project of port creation in Ogun state to "decongest" Lagos port. Meanwhile other part of the country needs this port, not Ogun state. No bidding, not subjected to approval by right bodies or whatnot. That's part of his "achievements" when he took 3 weeks leave recently. All of these with borrowed monies.
It is even a shame on well-meaning that Tinubu still continues to be a President with all the impeachable attrocities. And he is still going to win a re-election because Nigerian politicians have the medicine of Nigerians at hand. They know and see Nigerians "see finish". Social media noise. And it ends.
