Politics › Re: Mention Names Of Those Offering Ministerial Slots To you - Bwala To Nwosu by LegacyB: 1:18pm On Jul 30, 2025
koladata:
Democracy doesn’t seem to be working for us. It’s hard to believe we’ve only had bad presidents since 1960. ADC PDP APC , none of these guys have plans for us

I once believed Goodluck Jonathan was right for the job because of his education, he even claimed he had no shoes when he was going to school, but after 6 years of presidency people rejected him, and we ended up with Buhari.

Buhari claimed to be clean, yet look where he led us.

Tinubu says he built Lagos, you can argue that, but some of us saw what really happened in Lagos back then and to some extent he did his best , atleast he wasn't a bad governor. Now as a president, he has openly mismanaged public funds severally , spending billions renovating government buildings, when that money could build world-class hospitals.

An MRI machine costs less than ₦100 million. A standard 3-bedroom flat costs about ₦15 million. If one thousand million makes one billion, with all the billions flying around, why don’t we have good hospitals and infrastructure?
Exactly my point. I just laugh at the Lazy youths shouting Obi, Tinubu,Atiku.

Politics › Re: Reno Omokri Talks About The Names Changes In Lagos by LegacyB: 11:46pm On Jul 28, 2025
Pacesetter123:
But the said street renaming in Anambra happened in 2018.
The question you should ask yourself and Reno is,was Peter Obi the governor of Anambra state as at 2018?
Or have you or Reno seen any comment credited to Peter Obi that condemned the renaming of street or bus stop in Lagos by the government of Lagos state?
So,if the answer to the two questions is NO,why then is the name of Peter Obi appearing so prominently in this Reno's essay?
Willie Obiaono that did the renaming didn't appear in the essay and Charly Boy that has commented on the change of bus stop name didn't appear in the Reno essay too.
But Obi that is a neutral man in the two burning issues has his name printed on bold letters in Reno's write-up.
So, one can deduced from the write-up that the main intents of the author is not to educate the public nor to contribute to the subject matter on the intelligence or neutral point of view but that with political undertone and sinister motives.
To make it easy for you . I don’t care about Obi or Reno. What I know is if it was done without issues in Anambra in 2018 you claimed what makes it bad in Lagos in 2025?

You words doesn't change the fact that Falana is right with his input.

Corruption is not only when politicians pilfer money corruption too is when the law is jettisoned.
But no Falana when it was done in Anambra. And what makes it right . Because Falana says so? Can you give any constitutional backing, or just the usual yapping?
Politics › Re: Bashir Ahmad: Farmers Diverted FG Loans Into BDC, Oil Sector by LegacyB: 12:56pm On Jul 28, 2025
Nigerians are just something else. I hear of people who diverted billions from Agric loan to relocate. Most of them claimed flooding and security reasons for not paying back the loans. We are talking of over 500million to over a billion here. Some even used it for business at Trade fair, Alaba, Kano market , Lagos markets etc

What law was jettisoned? And how come none of you raised this law when it was done in Anambra even deporting people to their states? Again Falana is just playing to the gallery to excite those he can. He cannot change a single thing.

Thanks for posting this narrow tunnel vision ideology of what many of you believe in ie that things or solutions to a problem can only be tackled from a one way only and it is the main reason the black race are like the foot mat of the world with exception of few tribes like Igbos, Tutsi etc

Building modular refineries will boost fuel supply all over the country and competition from that will drive down the price because Nigeria produce crude oil in large quantities.

Second question. You don’t need foreign loans to run a country like buhari and tinubu, instead use your own revenue if you know what you are doing and instead spend trillions wasted on the Lagos- road on small scale businesses. The multiplier effect will boost your tax base to over a trillion. The best text books in economics and western economies have confirmed that investment in human beings is the best form of investment and not investment on uncompleted projects like lagos - calabar road

Political party question.Nobody world be forming ADC If tinubu is not compromising judiciary and INEC to cripple political opposition like what he is doing to labor and Pdp today showing a total lack of disregard for Nigerian laws ie the Supreme Court judgement against fubara granted even prayers that were not sought by the plaintiff Wike group and has never happened anywhere in the world . No foreign investor takes seriously a country with a severely federal government compromised judiciary and electoral body but tinubu go learn his lessons in a hard way
When you have good points you won’t stress to write an epistle.

Thank you so much sir. You contribution to this topic is well regarded.

Charly boy was a rugged activist who protested against the likes of Abacha and was jailed.

Also his nick name came from okada riders who he fought hard to have okada business legalised.

You may not like the messenger but appreciate the message.
Falana will only excite you he cannot change a thing. Lagos has the right to name streets and Bus stops. Same was done elsewhere like Anambra. And charly boy is a Activethief not an Activist. TAN still comes to mind.

I am not disputing Lagos' right to name streets. The issue is the unnecessary noise over it especially from people like Reno Omokri who pretend to be patriots but spend more time throwing tantrums about Peter Obi than focusing on governance. If it’s ‘simple,’ why not keep the energy on actual performance instead of weaponizing street name signs for political distraction?
When they were in cohorts it wasn’t my business. So, when they are in headlock it can’t be my business. So I’d rather stick to the message , the messenger is immaterial. If he says something that makes sense than definitely it deserves my interest. If he says something that unreasonable that’s another matter .
Politics › Re: Reno Omokri Talks About The Names Changes In Lagos by LegacyB: 6:32am On Jul 28, 2025
Ofunaofu:
The issue isn't about dodging Reno's so called 'claims'. it's about recognizing a pattern of obsession masked as commentary. When someone constantly drags Peter Obi into every unrelated topic, including things as trivial as street names, it's not analysis, it's fixation. If Reno had any real facts, he wouldn't need to hide behind daily provocations. Let’s not confuse noise with substance
The crux of the matter here is Lagos has the right to name streets and Busstops just as it was done in Anambra . Simple, everything is not this versus that.

Peter Obi hasn't made a single statement regarding the street name change because these are not germane issues affecting Nigerians. But, as usual, Reno Omokri a rábble-rousér always finds a way to drag Peter Obi into it.

Reno Omokri is just a mádmán roaming aimlessly
Don’t throw away the baby with the birth water. He has his claims, what’s necessary is the check if he’s right or wrong . Why dodge his entire statement cos there’s no opposite fact?

Labour fights for you and me when our rights at work place is abused. Also you can fight for yourself too, but of course Labour is stronger and gets result quickly. Labour collect dues to be able to run its operations and like you said the leaders are elected and have specific tenures.
U might be a union member, I don’t need your Labour for anything of if I were in Nigeria. You have said it Labour fights for the right of worker. And that’s what we have been saying since . But we both know NLC/ TUC are too useless to perform their duty. As far as brown envelope is not involved they are not concerned.

Obviously you don't know the role of the Labour Union. They act as your representative and speak for you. I can bypass Labour and seek legal means if my employer breaches the contract, especially when my case is not a collective one. But, if there isn't regulation or policy how will that be possible? The NLC is registered and regulated by the Ministry of Labour. The Ministry of Labour is saddled with formulating policies and enforcement as regards employment in the country. The issue we are debating is already being addressed by Ministry of Labour's National Employment Policy and the National Policy on Occupational, Safety and Health. All that is needed is enforcement. Simple!
Again let me ask you the function of Labour then? I see you listed the function others. Or it’s just to collect dues. Labour in US, Canada and Uk is highly effective especially on workers right. What’s the function of NLC/ TUC?

Oga NLC/TUC is like me and you, they can't make policy or enforce it. Obama signed executive orders prohibiting sexual descrimination by contractors, he also signed another for pay equity. Currently, Trump is focusing on strengthening its borders. Why can't a Nigerian President sign or enforce an order mandating all factories to pay minimum wage, including NSITF and Pension plan for its workers? NLC/TUC can only create that awareness, it is left for the Minister of Labour and Presidency to act upon the yearnings of the people.
That’s where you get it wrong NLC and TUC officials were elected, Infact they campaigned for those position vigorously. I hope you have attended one of their elections before ( worse than APC versus PDP) . If they can’t handle Labour issue of Nigeria tell me why they are there ? Moreover I wish you know how active the Labour Congress version of US is that bill signed by Obama was pushed by them. Google it.

For National issues such as this, it's the Presidents call. We talking about foreign Nationals maltreating citizens in the name of employment. The Ministry of Labour has the responsibility of overseeing several govt agencies that ensures suitable employment for the populace by all standards. The Ministry is headed by a Minister who is appointed by the Presidency.
Oga learn to know the President is just 1. You have Governors and other leaders at every turn. Even CDA chairman learn to know they are responsible. It’s too weak to heap all the blame on 1 President or Minister. If Labour knows they won’t be responsible then why do why have NLC/ TUC? Abi na only to share money them Dey for?

But then who do you blame? What can Labour do when Ministers/Senators and other government officials are the ones behind the setup of such factories in the country in the first place.
Trump is putting strict laws to safeguard America from foreigners who come through porous borders. And he is making sure he achieves that. We need a President who is ready to work and give directions if not, nothing works.
Ask yourself if only the President should do everything? If so why do they collect dues from their members and participate in National discussions. The Union is very useless to put it mildly.

I have said it here and would say it again. NLC/ TUC are the most useless organizations ever, those guys are more terrible than even politicians . You can never see them in this type of debate or struggle. Since it won’t bring out money for those corrupt lots.
If you like blame government again as usual, since that’s the easiest thing to do.
