NATO needs to remember that Putin was not some gay dancer, or priveledged white kid raised by neo nazi parents. No, he was a KGB operative, a spy. No governments hire stupid people as spies, and Putin is no exception. He is smart, he understands more than most, and you can bet he has dozens of plans to cover any contingency. Don't want putin in Governent anymore ? Do you realize who would replace him ? Trust me, Putin is a level headed moderate peacemaker. Those that would replace him are far from that, and would probably change Russia's nuclear doctrine and launch a "decapitation" first nuclear strike. Be thankful Putin is in charge because all these theatrics and histrionics are not pressing his buttons. Lithuania does NOT matter in the grand scheme of things. Russia does NOT want many of the ex failed soviet states, as they would drag the Russian economy down. That is why Russia never wanted to take the Ukraine. Now, they have no choice, but I can promise you, there will not be a Ukraine in a few months. It will ALL be Russia, and by then or shortly after, Russia may decide to turn its attention to the current aggressors. Do you think Russia and its citizens are fearful of "the collective west" ? No, they are not and for many reasons, one of them being that Russia has been in a war ecconomy for more than a decade and prepared well for this, as well as having many of the most cutting edge military technologies in the world able to not only defend, but able to strike with impunity, anywhere it wants. All nations should respect Russia if not because of its collective honor, then at least for its capacity as a huge nuclear armed super power. And so we are back to Lith again. Their rhetoric words are just that.. nothing but words and bullshit. They are NOT a threat. NATO is barely a threat, and the US is barely a threat. China is the only real threat Russia may face, hence why they have a VERY close strong relationship with each other. Russia offers that sort of friendship to everyone, no conditions other than you do not threaten Russia.
