onile1975: @ Ashirioluwa thanks for ur response
My question is that, can it causes visa denied if the Schengen insurance cover limit was written in Dollars ? Bro Schengen insurance is the minimum coverage they require from you. Worldwide insurance is a more serious version, they will even take you more seriously with worldwide coverage. The fact that it is written in USD will not cause denial. Insurance is insurance. The whole idea at the end of the day is for you to be covered and they know that. They are not robots. |

Ashirioluwa: The Schengen Travel Insurance Policy is normally in Euro and they want one for at least €35000.
One of the cheapest policy one can find right now is through Sanlam Allianz General Insurance Nigeria Limited.
https://sanlamallianz.com.ng I’ve repeated this many times. You don’t have to get Schengen insurance. That is the minimum they expect. You can get worldwide insurance. Worldwide insurance is available on Axa Nigeria and it is cheaper than the Schengen insurance you will buy from those European insurance companies. Worldwide insurance is also more valuable than Schengen insurance |

GudluckIBB: Thanks, @Lekan2348
What I meant is that the cover is quoted as USD 35,000, whereas I thought it was supposed to be EUR 30,000.
Please, is it acceptable if the policy is in USD, or should I go back to AXA and request that they change it to EUR? If it is quoted in USD it is okay as far as it covers the 30,000 euro minimum requirement after converting. $35,000 would not cover it. There are plans that cover up to $150,000. Select those ones, the price different is not that much. Don’t go and leave you visa application to chance because of extra 10,000 naira o |

GudluckIBB: Congratulations on your visa! 🎉
Please, my appointment is in a few weeks. The AXA Mansard travel insurance I purchased is quoted in USD instead of EUR. Was yours the same, or did you have it in euros? Should I leave it that way, or request that they change the currency to euros?
@Lekan2509 I’d really appreciate your input on this.
Thanks! Go to google and search for Axa mansard Nigeria, go to the website that pops up and look for travel insurance. The amount will be quoted in naira and will be significantly cheaper. |

cantiride2: You must arrive at France that is the country that issued you the visa. Then you are free to visit any other Schengen country you wish to either by Air,train or bus all within the period of the visa issued to you. you must also exit from France.
1. is it a must that one must enter the schengen area tru the country 1 applied to? ( note i didnt say i wud be going to other schengen countries in my application , but plans hv changed and am considering touching 2 or 3 other countries}
2. i was given a single entry 30 days visa- france (2wks max stay), does this single entry apply to other schengen countries i may choose to enter -- if i decide to explore other countries during my trip.
3. does this 2wks maximum stay also apply to other schengen countries i may choose to visit? From my friend who goes there every year, you don’t need the go to the country you applied to first or exit through there. The place you applied to must be the longest stay you have, that is all. |

onile1975: Hello lekan
But you said u bought it from Lagos in ur chat above 33k for 4weeks, you said is worldwide insurance that is what I want to buy Yes I bought Axa worldwide travel insurance from their Nigerian subsidiary. Just google travel insurance Axa Nigeria. You can do it yourself easily. Just fill the forms and make payment. You will get the certificate immediately . |

onile1975: @ lekan thanks for your response
1) Is ur passport number written on the insurance certificate issue to you?
2) Please help me send there contact phone number,I want to purchase insurance 1. The passport number is written on it. But that does not matter. What is important is that your name is boldly written on the insurance certificate. Passport number is not what makes a travel insurance legally binding and I’m sure visa officials know this. Plus there are online databases to check the validity of travel insurance through the policy number which they can use to verify too. 2. I usually buy I online directly. Even though I believe Axa is a useless insurance company because of my experience with them and their claims process. I bought this last one because it was a weekend that I applied for my Schengen visa and had no time to wait because the next available date was the Monday for appointment. |

First timer because someone here also submitted around 1st of August on USA Travel history already got approved last week I’m first time for Schengen but I have USA, uk, and African travel history. Does travel history make processing faster? I can’t imagine that is the logic. Isn’t it whose file they pick first that they will look at and approve or deny asap |

Your application is still under processing at consulate
Pls where did you bought ur insurance? I did worldwide insurance from Axa. That is what I get whenever I travel anywhere. Worldwide insurance will cover Schengen too. Plus I’m going to non Schengen countries during my trip. I usually get it from Axa in Lagos. Paid 33k for a 4 week coverage. |

DefinitelyNotAI: Hi everyone, Is there anyone else trying to catch a drop‑off appointment slot in Abuja? It’s very strange, but for me it always shows: “Currently, there are no appointments available for the selected location.” For Lagos I see the whole August open. What is going on with Abuja? Is the drop‑off center closed completely? Keep checking, they will make them available at their convenience. That is how they always do |

alphafemale123: I was at the US emabssy today for my B1/B2 application for tourist purpose. I got the visa!!!!!!!!!! I do not know the validity yet untill i get my apssport back. My tips, be confident, pray and do not speak too much when not asked it will look rehearsed. Please, dress properly, it matters a lot. dress how you want to be addressed.
Arrive early and be done with everything on time. ALL THE BEST!!!!! Congratulations but your visa will be valid for only 3 months. No need to pray and fast over that. There is no exception to that rule for the average citizen applying for b1/b2 |

My 221g people in Lagos , be checking avits o!!! A lot of dates were uploaded this week and people are also rescheduling their visa appointments maybe because of the new visa rules.
Anyway, I just got found and secured July 31st date for 221g interview (next Thursday).
I’ve been checking for earlier dates since beginning of June, my interview was meant to be in September but we’re here now 🙏🏾. |

kennethjunior: Exactly! The challenge is I don’t see the rescheduling option. It looks like you have to hold on. It’s has not even updated to reflect 221g on the appointment. Because that needs to happen first for you to reschedule to 221g dates which will be closer than regular interview dates |

kennethjunior: I was scheduled for 221G appointment after IW. But I am trying to reschedule as requested but am not seeing that option on the website. Is there anyone currently having same challenge? I have created a support ticket no response yet, does anyone know how I can go about this? Thanks Rescheduling your 221g is the same thing as rescheduling your normal appointment. There is no new option that will appear. You are just meant to reschedule the interview that gave you the Dropbox date in the first place . |

Wealth1990: I missed my first appointment due to DS-160 ISSUES and there are no dates to shedule another appointment, Can i schedule an expedite appointment with my former appointment date since I can see the create emergency button or I need to reschedule another appointment first? For awareness sake, can you tell us what ds160 issue made you miss your appointment. Secondly, I do not believe that missing your appointment is valid ground to apply for emergency appointment. You will most likely be denied the emergency request. The grounds for applying for emergency appointments are stated there on the website |

YOU Update They denied the visa It was at Abuja embassy They denied almost 10 people before me One thick black American lady like that
The 10 people they denied were not qualified, same way as you did not qualify for the visa. Let's assume that you qualified, then you were not prepared based on the fact that you came to Nairaland @ the eleventh hour seeking for visa success tips.
YOU She asked me my purpose of travel , where I am travelling to, my job, how much I earn, and if I have travelled outside Nigeria
And then denied me
This is a bias or unfair transcript towards the consular. Now you have painted the consular who interviewed you as a wicked or bad consular. But you did not tell us, " How did you answer those questions ?
YOU Well I plan on travelling to other countries before applying again I have only travelled to Benin republic and Togo
I plan on travelling to uk,Kenya and Dubai
Then I will apply again
Benin Republic , and Togo are international travels, so when they cannot help your travel history, how will traveling to UK, Kenya and Dubai help you ?
The U.S. embassy has changed the game. They knows that many average and wealthy Nigerians can travel anywhere and come back to their embassy in order to come and claim good travel histories.
Ipso facto, a person with a genuine and reasonable travel history to South Africa, Uganda, and Tunisia, will have a visa success than a person who have traveled for fun to Canada, Australia, and Japan.
■■ Therefore, the U.S B1/B2 visas are no more about good travel histories. It is now about the satisfaction of all requirements, which includes psychological assessment of your personality and genuine intention.
Note: Genuine intention of visa applicant is what eventually determines your visa even when you are not qualified or when you are over qualified, but only the interviewing visa officer can determine that.
Note: Lack of good communication skills or how to express oneself in the presence of the consular is the 2nd tool. Many visa applicants unknowingly sounded like a braggart. Some sounded like a would-be terrorist eg i hate Nigeria. When you hate Nigeria, you will eventually hate America. Lastly, many visa applicants feel uneasy as soon as they face the visa officer. All these mentions surpasses personal credentials in assessment of U.S visa success. 👍 Very valid points here … your denial does not stem from one particular reason. You just failed ‘in that moment’ to convince that particular visa officer that you have strong ties to Nigeria. Like you mentioned, she was on a denial spree. You can go back there tomorrow, have an interview with a different visa officer and get approved. It really comes down to the interview and your ability to convince. Your body language goes a long way and confidence is key |
