Two Chinese nationals and a police escort were killed when yet-to-be-apprehended armed criminals ambushed their convoy en route to their quarry site located at Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State. The gunmen were said to have carted away the Ak-47 riffle of the slain police escort.

Confirming it to Vanguard, the Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Maureen Chinaka, said four of the victims including those who sustained gunshot wounds had been rescued. The PPRO who said investigation had been launched into the matter, added that manhunt for the assailants had also commenced.

A statement by the PPRO read:”The Abia State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and other sister security agencies, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Uturu, has successfully rescued four Chinese expatriates and two escort police officers.

“This followed a distress report received on 04/04/2025 at about 17:30hrs, that unidentified armed men had ambushed and attacked a group of Chinese expatriates and their police escorts while they were en route to their company site located at Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu, Isuikwuato LGA.

“Tragically, during the attack, the manager, Mr. Quan (male), his colleague Mr. Cai (male), and Inspector Audu Saidu (one of the escort officers) were killed. The assailants also carted away the Inspector Saidu’s rifle.

” Upon receiving the information, operatives from Abia State Command, in a joint operation with the military and other sister agencies, launched a search mission. As a result, three Chinese expatriates were rescued unhurt, while one sustained injuries. Inspector Uba Ahmed, who was also rescued, suffered gunshot injury on his leg. Both the injured officer and the expatriate are currently receiving treatment and responding to treatment at FMC Abakaliki.

“Today (05/04/2025), tactical team operatives of the command, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), visited the crime scene as part of the ongoing search and rescue efforts. Through collaborative action involving the police, the military, and local community members, Inspector Ijeagwa Friday was also rescued unhurt.”

Police urged members of the public to help volunteer useful information that could lead to the arrest of criminal elements in their vicinity.

“The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has assured the good people of Abia State that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be brought to justice. He urged residents to remain security conscious, go about their lawful activities without fear, and support the police by reporting any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities to the nearest Police Station Or call the following Command’s emergency lines: 08035415405, 08079210004, 08079210005, 08079210006”

Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has passed away.

He reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, just days before his 90th birthday.
His death was confirmed in a statement issued by Barrister Oladapo Ogunwusi on behalf of the family. “With a heavy heart but gratitude to the Almighty, we announce the passing into glory of Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former governor of Oyo State, mathematician and engineer, and renowned technocrat, a few days before his 90th birthday,” the statement read.

Dr. Olunloyo, who held the traditional titles of Balogun of Oyo and Otun Bobasewa of Ife, was a respected statesman with a distinguished public service career. He was the first Rector of both The Polytechnic, Ibadan and Kwara State Polytechnic, among several other notable appointments.

“His long record of service to the nation and humanity is a source of pride to his family and associates, even as we come to grips with this devastating event,” the statement added.

The family appealed for privacy during this period of mourning, noting that arrangements for a befitting burial are underway.

A bandit attack on Bajat and Dole villages in Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State resulted in the death of a vigilante commander and injuries to several others on April 1, 2025.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the bandits stormed the area around 6pm, and began shooting sporadically. Nura Baushe, a vigilante commander, was tragically killed in the attack.

Other victims Amadu Dole, Surajo Shehu, and Shafiu Sulaiman sustained various degrees of bullet wounds and were rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina for medical treatment.

Nomalcy has been restored in the area following deployment of security personnel.

Lagos Police Dismantle "Yahoo School", Arrest Operators and Trainees

A raid by the Lagos State Police Command has shut down an illicit internet fraud training facility, known as a "Yahoo School", in the Iju area of the state.

Four main operators of the facility, identified as Chibuike Ihejika, Stanley Ihejika, Obiora Oyediba, and Emmanuel Oyedibe, were arrested alongside six trainees, including a 12-year-old boy, Minachi Udochukwu.

The other six suspects are their criminal trainees, all of whom were undergoing training in cybercrime and fraud: Okorie Henry, Otoh Chisom, 20; Okeke Kwufrochikwu, 26; Uchenna Obeji, 26; Minachi Udochukwu, 12; and Chinedu Ukachukwu, 23.

According to police reports, the operators recruited their trainees from Anambra State and engaged them in internet fraud, confiscating the proceeds from their illicit activities.

Divide that amount by 350 ( 10x 35 pieces each bag)

180k / 350 = #514 each block.
Therefore the price of 300 is fishy.

Nothing is fishy na you dey use the price in your location to determine everywhere. I fenced one of my buildings 2 weeks ago. I bought block 6 for #300 per one, cement 8,500 per bag and sand 30,000 per load.
