Dr. Joe, i will want to firstly congratulate you and your wife on the your new baby.
As i read this mail, i really sympathise with you as NLs will admit that i was in a kind of this mess April last year when i bought a Nigerian used 2008 RAV 4 on this site.
Though i bought it directly from the real owner who advertised the vehicle himself.
The best way we resolved it then was that we both shared the cost of repair 50-50 as i had to buy a replacement engine since the vehicle could not even make it to Abuja.It "caput" at Ibadan.
So, @Francismic, i will expect you to do same, at least for your integrity sake, that of car dealers on NL and those who might want to advertise their car for sale on NL.Liase with the real owner, make him understand the trauma Dr joe is currently undergoing with the car. Let Dr Joe give you an estimate of what expert said will cost to fix the car and work out some refund for him (as agreed by you both)to at least compensate him for the repair.
Dr. Joe, please take heart, life is like that,sometimes we come acrooss this kind of thing in life, but our ability to move forward is all that matters.
Although you may decide the to sell the car later on, but you need to get it fixed first to get a better price for it incase you intend to resale.
As for me, i spent fortune to bring the car to taste after it arrived Abuja, but i had put that behind me by now as i had even buy another 07 Honda Civic here in Abuja after then.

Hello Guys, I really need someones out there to help me out.
I was filling d form and get hooked when i got to NYSC number.I postponed it till when i got this info. But to log on back to complete the application became difficult.
I find it dificult to get the portal wherein i can fil my surname and ARN.
Please i need help on how to get to this page. Each time i log on to the website it will prompt me to fill a fresh page and when i fill the info and click continue, it will tell me that duplicate application is not allowed.

All advices given to the affected Fidelity staff so far were ok and good, but theoretically.What operates pratically is that most of us in paid employment never had enough savings from our meagre salary to put something aside externally to fall back on in case of emergency situation like this.
I could recollect when i was sacked form my last employment in 2007 and thought the world was going to end because the little business i had then could not put 3-square meal on my table as expected.But after then, i got a contract employment for 18 months in 2009 and i was able to save enough money (having learn form my first mistake)to start a distributor business. With prayer and hard work, the biz has grown to an extent that banks are now running after me to open an account with them.Some are even pursuing me with loan facility, but because of the loan condition and high interest rate, i turned them down because i don't want anything that will affect the biz at least for now.
I will want my affected brothers and sisters to learn from this, if they could get anything concrete from it.
However, for those that has small biz and may be interested, they may contact (BOI)Bank of Industry Ltd in their location for facility assistance, their interest is the lowest one can ever get in this country i.e 5% (Though being a govt. bank)They usually help enterpreneurs and small/medium scale enterprises, though it is slow as i have been on my own since Sept 2011 and just now getting to disbursement stage.

Can anyone tell me if there is this kind of facility in Abuja

Good morning to you all.I have not visited this site for quite some time now since my last incident with Damola 1 on the RAV4 saga as i have been out of town on official assignment.I hope some Nls would still remember this.
The same mistake i made then was the same mistake Boson had made because he trusted the ICME so much.I still don't know why nairaland Auto section cannot be compared or likened to the various Auto auction sites in US where you don't need to see the seller before paying for a car advertised and your car will be delivered to you safely without any hitch.
I had taken my time to read through this post from begining and i will abide by "Fried-rice" suggestion that only registered car dealers (listed on the front page)should be allowed to advertise and sell cars on the Auto section and no one else.Any other person who is interested in advertising his used or tokunbo car on the auto section should be made to go through a registered dealer and advertise such car using the dealer's name.In that wise, dealers too will scrutinise that person very well and know the conditions of the car he intends to sell befroe advertising it in his name since it is the dealer's integrity that is at stake this time around(just as the way it is done in US Auto auction site)
In this way there will be a little sanity in the auto section instead of allowing every tom, dick and harry to advertise cars for sale on the site.This is my own simple opinion, i may be wrong and stand to be corrected.
@ Boson, i really sympathise with you, but dont rest on your oars,still keep praying to God to help you touch ICME's heart so that he can refund your money.There is nothing that prasyer cannot do.Don't be surprised that ICME is no longer picking your calls nor call you again,that is the usual practice once money exchanged hands and you fall into their net.The only time they will call you is at the begining of the transaction just to convince you to make transfer, once transfer is made and issues like this arise, you will be the one calling.I am talking from experience. at least i was a victim some few months ago.
So please take heart, keep praying and have the believe that God will touch ICME's heart and your money will be refunded to you one day.

I am not scared to pay d full payment and even other payment as i had already agreed on this with the real owner, if only he is sure of what he is selling.
But i was surprised this morning when you told me to send another representative and a mechanic again to inspect and test-drive the vehicle and equally look for someone who will help me drive it down to Abuja, contrary to what we have agreed upon before.
