APT: "THE INCLUSIVE NIGERIA DEVELOPMENT POLICY" THROUGH RESTRUCTURING.
Even our founding fathers are currently put on disunity notice: that the foundational structure upon which the Nigerian state stands is falling - our sovereignty and coexistence is swiftly falling apart and the different components constituting our centre can no longer hold our flag of oneness.  Our unabating platitudinized politics of ethno-religious sentiment, constantly puts our humanity to test.  Unmindful of the degenerative effect of our actions,  we have repeatedly failed this test, not because our usual complaints of social marginalization are unreal but because we often respond to the injustice of marginalization with greater degree of revulsion and animosity. 

For more than four decades now,  the national question has remained a fractious challenge for the continual existence of Nigeria: some Igbos feel secession is the benchmark for the Southeast development,  the Hausas and Yorubas in their own rights also feel throbbed by the Nigerian marriage.  While the rhetoric and politics of disintegration has overwhelmed the work of development and progress. A visit to all regions of Nigeria, often readily reveals the intrinsic truth about marginalization and a general lack of social security in Nigeria: the ordinary people and places in Northern Nigeria are as much victims of this as the ordinary people and places in the Southeast,  South-south and South-West. Unfortunately,  the forgotten truth is that our leaders, not co-existence, has perpetuated us in this twinged and stagnating state of underdevelopment.  What should history judge us for, having proffered as the enduring solution to the national question?  I would opt for "THE INCLUSIVE NIGERIA DEVELOPMENT POLICY" through the restructuring of governmental structures for Competitive Federalism, and the resetting of our mindset. 

Let the secessionist convince me that we are wiser than other developed climes that are cohabiting together, and making giant developmental strides.  How come California State has not resorted to pulling out of the American Union? They are simply wise,  not allowing themselves to be easily distracted into the emptiness of time,  they are simply thinking about development rather than disintegration, simply focused on pursuing viable innovations that make a state's economy great.  This is the point where Mental Revolution and Restructuring commences. The entire people of Nigeria has been marginalized by the injuries of failed and poor leadership,  so let's squelch the situation by facing the reality.  Take individual guilt and responsibility for where we are and begin to take bold steps on making our local development a reality. The politics of "Abuja" has killed our innovativeness and confined us to the museum of primitive politics of underdevelopment.  With the unholy belief that we are shortchanged and marginalized anytime we do not have control over how things operate in Abuja,  but the truth remains abundantly clear - Abuja is too tiny to develop the entire parts of Nigeria but our local leaders, Governors,  Senators and Representatives can if we make them to.  

To actualize a Competitive Federalism,  the National  Assembly must be bold enough for a comprehensive constitutional amendment that will guarantee the component units of our federalism an economic autonomy for local development. Such that the states can control,  harness and utilize they natural resources for the development of the local areas according to their developmental need of the people.  It should also be on record that there is no state in Nigeria that does not have at least Five Natural and Agricultural Resources to be economically viable in a restructured Nigeria.  More importantly,  global economy is now innovation-based,  human capital is the new trend not natural resources alone.  If you are in doubt, then consider why California is banking the world's best tech-CEOs from Google to Facebook,  to Apple and host of others.  With world class technology-based institutions like the California Institute of Technology,  University of California and Stanford University.  Tell me any State University in Nigeria that is  generating ideas, research and solutions capable of revolutionizing the world!  Our governors would rather use the fund to build airports and other expendable, white elephant and begging-the-question projects often designed to loot the Commonwealth of the people. 

The prophesy of real development and change in a Biafra, Arewa, or Oduduwa Republic is unknown even to the deities. The proponents of secession have not bothered their intellect on the pragmatic promises of how their new economy will work, nor have they been clear on better governance system as an alternative to the current situation in Nigeria or most other African countries,  and as is Africa's usual case: we simply want the power to control our affairs without any distinguishing policy direction or articulated vision for the new state of Biafra.  We must learn to ask questions. Let competence,  vivid vision,  integrity and pan-Nigeria credentials be the only guiding sentiment for electing Nigeria's Presidents,  not ethnic background,  not religion and not money.  For we must also put a buried end to the commercialization of our Electoral system.  
If the Nigerian youth are ready for any social revolution,  then let it begin with youth in leadership through defining roles  in actualizing the "INCLUSIVE NIGERIA DEVELOPMENT POLICY" Revolution. For leadership is about the solution and impact we make in advancing our nation and societies.  Unfortunately,  the young people too are uncontrollably Aso Rock and Abuja-struck.  We need this revolution to keep Nigeria safe, united and developed, by engaging development in our local jurisdictions.  


I really wish the key stakeholders and handlers of the Nigerian enterprise - both the promoters of disintegration and the proponents of unity will be humane enough to accept the voice of reason and tolerance as the benchmark for our humanity. But for me, I would like to be remembered on the day of logging-out of this earthly plane popularly called Life, as having staunchly proffered that Nigeria is better-off as one nation under the "INCLUSIVE NIGERIA DEVELOPMENT POLICY" where competence and innovation thrive,  where good sense is commonly applied and where human beings tolerate themselves. 

Let us work hard to secure our continual unity and progress, and may God help our work.
