Been dating for a year now. I am American. He is Nigerian. Im a white, very overweight, divorced mother of 6. He is 6 years younger than me without kids or a wife. Says he lives alone. Has asked for money at times. Ive sent about $2k collectively in the last year. He was denied a visa back in Sept. I quit my very lucrative job of 4 years just to see if he would leave and he hasnt yet (its been 4 months since a quit and I do have other income just not as much as before). I have sent $100 in the last 2 months or so.

Anyway. We exchanged FB Messenger passwords about 6 months ago to enhance trust between us. I recently decided to look at his Instagram out of curiosity since it was linked with his FB account. I dont think he knew I would do so. A few months back we had some issues because an ex of his contacted and I also saw some inappropriate comments under a "friend" of his on FB so I made him delete the friend and he told me his ex (who is Scottish) was also told to lose his number (though I have no proof of that). He wants to get married both in Nigeria and in the States. Ive talked to his mother a few times.

Whie looking at his Instagram I noticed he connected back with the "friend" who is VERY beautiful, no kids, and in Nigeria. He said their convos were just of a "joking" nature and I dont buy it. After I responded in the convo to let her know he is with someone, she also said they were "joking" but I think shes just covering for him because she feels bad for him.

Here's some screenshots. Hes telljng me I just dont "understand" the context. I call bullshit. He also had several other convos with women, mostly Nigerian and American, calling them pretty, wanting to "get to know them", etc.

Im getting sick of it honestly and I am faithful. I am overweight but I am still attractive as I have men trying to get my attention regularly.

Honest opinions, please.
Jesus, mother of six shocked

Madam, your boyfriend is not faithful and will never be faithful. He is a chronic flirt.

RomanceHELP! My Mom Is Selfish. by letterman(op): 9:40am On Jan 25, 2018
I was on my own when my mom said her pastor saw a vision about me, that I must never marry as any woman I get married to will be the one to end my life. I was in my last year in the university then and I had a girlfriend whom I had to break up with.

Fast forward to middle of last year. I got a good job, brought an SUV and began to build my house. And all of a sudden, my mother starts talking about marriage. I had to remind her about the prophesy that I mustn't marry if I don't want to die by my wife's hand. My mother started rejecting it. She said the prophesy can be changed, that she would fast and pray. I told her I was sticking with the prophesy. Since then, she has been on my neck to bring a woman home.

Last week, she brought a friend's daughter home and introduced us. The lady is 22 and has just graduated from a university in the US. When I did my little findings about her, it turned out that she has an history of violence, even back in the States. I told my mother about this and reminded her about the prophesy but my mother baffled me by trying to convince me to marry her. She says she wants a grandchild and I told her I could get a woman and pay her to be a surrogate mother. My mother said she wanted me to marry properly and have children by my legal wife. She has been on my neck and frankly, it is beginning to irritate me.

I have decided to report her to my uncles because I think she is forcing marriage on, in spite of the prophesy, because her friends' children are getting married almost every Saturday. I don't want to die.

I need your advice.

Exactly what I made her realize. That if she respects me, she won't be saying nasty words about the tribe I come from.

Bro, I swear, her hatred is not ordinary. Even now, I am considering the future. Wouldn't she raise our children to be tribalistic? I don't want children that would be petty.

Wow, that's new. Ladies are hardly "tribalistic". I don't see your relationship going far, people like this don't change. She should atleast love them for your sake.
I am beginning to see that myself. We had quarrels over it that I am now convinced she would never change. I have tried to make her understand that it is not just because it is my tribe but because it shows a lack of respect for me.

Thank you for this. The most annoying thing is that when I tell her not to insult my tribe, she would accuse me of putting my tribe over her.

don't mind them. I can never forget what they did during my NYSC, sabotaging our efforts and drawing us back. The principal had to call the idiots and told them he was ashamed of them as a fellow Yoruba person that he is and to think we were from another region serving in their land o.
I don't know about others, but I am not tribalistic. One reason why it saddens me is the way she says it to my face. It just doesn't show respect.

We met about two years ago. She is from Kogi state from one of the Yoruba speaking parts but she hates Yorubas so much that it makes me sad. I am a Yoruba and a proud Nigerian but I don't like the way she is carrying on with her tribalism. It is getting worse that she even uses words like mad, fools, thieves to describe Yorubas. There was a day I got angry and told her not to insult my people anymore as I did not think it even shows any respect for me. She accused me of putting my people over her. I can't let her continue to do this. It doesn't show any respect for me at all. I am not tribalistic but I think if there is to be an inter tribal marriage, both party should respect each other's tribes. What do you think my peoplehuh It is really tiring.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Algeria 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 3 - 1 (Full Time) by letterman: 1:18pm On Nov 11, 2016
Algeria is overrated. Anyone who has a keen eye will know that they have a terrible defence. They run around a lot giving the impression that they are playing football but they are not that dangerous. Tommorow, they will be beaten. The Cameroonians will still give them the beating of their lives in Yaounde and Zambia will still beat them in Lusaka. Algeria is the best in Africa only on paper. Mark my word, they can't beat us even at our weakest. Playing against Germany is not the same as playing against Nigeria so those talking about their 2014 match against Germany should forget it. Algeria can't beat Nigeria even in their wildest dreams.

All those shouting Slimani and Mahrez should calm down. Nothing that special about them. Look how Cameroon dismantled their useless defence. Moreover, it was a cheap goal they scored against Cameroon. The only team I am scared of in that group is Cameroon. Even at their weakest, they are sure to give Nigeria (a long time rival) a serious fight.

Akpeyi will do!!! Alampasu is good but it is not enough. This is expected to be a tensed match and we need somebody who is more than good. We need somebody who can manage the pressure. Akpeyi sure will do.

LiteratureRe: My Honest Observation And Critique Of Americanah By Chimanda Adichie by letterman: 1:55pm On Nov 06, 2016
awakeuche:
bro forget what the op says, he seems to forget that writing a book does not necessarily mean everything must be black and white, the book was set in a colonial era where you either had to make great sacrifices to survive or have connections.
I feel the book honestly depicts exactly what educated women went through during that period in question... As for the societal african values the op opined she downplayed i would agree with him, the book wasn't written to sugarcoat or showcase morals in any form, it simply explains things like they are and let it be which is exactly what makes it one of the most interesting reads......
I totally enjoyed ifemelu's experiences in america, it was part funny and phenomenal. Finally i think morals were downplayed in the book and emphasis giving to the fact that life is not a bed of roses to some no matter how kind and good you may be in the case of kosi, you can still lose out.....
Sometimes bad things happen to good people too........... And yes chimamanda is also one of those writers who always want to paint Christians in overzealous light. Just read the book, you will totally enjoy it
Haba, colonial era kehuh Americanah wasn't set in the colonial era o.
