My radiatorbhas been patched. It was leaking bits by bits fromnthebside facing front of engine which ib couldn't reach orbsee and so the water fromnthe radiator drains to the coolant reservoir making it to want to over heat. Wellnive drivenbit for close to 3 hrs now and the pin didn't exceed 3 pins downwards,unlike before when it will pass middle and would start going towards hot guage. I blame the car wash guy,their nozzle speed damaged the aluminium

There is nothing wrong with my steering. I have never changed lower arm bushings since I had been driving it,I had never changed linkage,my driver side shock absorber got bent and damaged,my tie rods got bent and damaged,my two bushings were worn out. Ball joints fake.. by the way the Control of this car is not a front wheel drive, pls take note. This is no ordinary lexus,it's a rear wheel drive. Made for drift and uses propeller. Be educated.

Well I did not see any sign of leakage from places that were visible,but you can hear it boiling...extreme heat on hose,but no overheat. Will check tomorrow morning again yo monitor the water level.......

Ok,it remains a bell sound and my oil guage,the back shows 2 pins which means full and the front shows 1 pin below middle line. I bought 5 litres oil,topped it withb1 litre still the oil level is showing full and other side low. I will have to enter lagos soon. I hear a bell sound at 3000 or 2800 rpm speed,close to passenger side. Maybe the last mechanic that ringed the engine did a nonsense job.

Just save up and go for engine swap at ladipo. All those aluminium engine are very fragile.. your model of camry is a factory defect from toyota since 2002 to 2005 model. .

Planning on swapping my follow come engine for tokunbor with gear. Different hands have touched the car and damaged plugs here and there. So i believe by december i will have 150k to do engine and gear swap. I love the 2jz cos its so so reliable. Well my radiator has a small leakage and my repairer said i should come back by saturday. So wont be driving till then,tho my temperature level is like 4 pins downwards b4 now it used to be 2 to 3 pins downwards and no heat from inside the car,but due to leakage the interior gets hot within 30mins and i always pray not to meet traffic. I love 2jz engine because its indestructible. And its a back axle car.

Op, your problem is you have a nice car but you patronize cheap places for maintenance and parts. I always recommend radautoworks and gazzuzz for people in Lagos both offline and online. The are also hundreds of car dealerships for you to choose from but the moment they stone you price for OEM parts, that's when you'll understand why substandard and second hand parts sellers are in business which is simply because many Nigerians can't fork out that cash for original parts.

Thats dangerous. Your car is shorting oil be that,either its the piston rings are qorn out or top cylinder seal is bad. Did u check for any oil leakage . Buy a cardboard of 100 naira,when u get home at night,place it between where gear and engine connect. Wait till tmrw morning to see if the card boards are stained with drops of oil at cold engine temperaturebefore you start the car in the morning. Either your seal is bad or something.

Well to solve the long story short. I now regret taking the car to a useless car wash, who damaged my fan,the clips holding them and I think he also fried some parts of my condenser. Before nowzmy condenser had a uniform dirty brown colour on the body, now I saw sone parts are silver some parts seems to be eaten up. The whole problem started since yesterday........After visiting the car wash.. that was when things came up ... it did not heat up till about 2hrs ago. I had to buy another plastic blade as the car wash cold wash pressure washer nozzle,damaged an already expired fan blade waiting for an accident or force to dismantle.. After installing the fan blade at drivers side. No more aggresive rattling,aggressive radiator vibration. Tho I think the car wash nozzle has also made a small leak into my radiator and the leak spread through pipes connecting to my arm rest area,radio area,and sides of radio area. I will be taking the radiator back to agbedeh to check for leakage and repair. Now my ac drops to 900 rpm before now it drops to 1100rpm. So definitely my radiator is having a leak,I also topped like half cup to fill the radiator back to brim. My final lesson is I will never wash radiator and condenser again after using a random ac guy,he used all those small can gas and not the medium green cylinder original gas,so after like a month,the low and medium ac speed does not blow cold like it used to before now. I guess the random ac guy sold to me fake gas. I changed cabin filter, no difference. I will have to flush out the fake gas after I repair my radiator and find original ac gas with green cylinder to refill.

Mechanic has no business here. My radiator has not been removed in almost 6months ago,I just checked the radiator now,it's still filled of coolant,reservoir tank has a lil bit of coolant left over inside. Tho what I noticed was my.condenser at both sides,now looks like silver,instead of the colour black. I will give the car 3 days without driving it. I guess water got into the motor of thw radiator fans or something....If the condenser has fried,then to get toks cos the condenser is now 2 years old,ac 1 year 6months old,radiator since factory installed it,tho repaired it here and there. Let me wait till Friday and see what happens.

Nairalanders I'm here again. Well I noticed my ac sometimes it freeze at early morning like 7am,8am,but when the sun is st a ridiculous degrees, if I don't turn it to maximum,I will be sweating small small. So for this reason,I went back to the ac man,and he checked,gas was still there,went to another samething,so he told me to go to car wash to wash the radiator and all,that it seems some places a re blocked. So later I went to car wash,did total body wash and radiator wash from top. So after abt 50mins ,my car was ready to move.

Immediately i started the car,I quickly panicked because the sound I heard,was like helicopter fan speed. At first,I was confused. My guy came to driver side,started the car,same sound. So I felt maybe it has not dried yet. So we drove down like 2km,and suddenly even at 1000 rpm,the fans sound like its on 5th gear fast speed,I started feeling heat coming from radio area ,plastic opp steering,inside the boot,middle arm storage. So we stopped to check what's wrong. Ipened the hood,it felt so hot and the radiator was just vibrating like aggressive vibration while engine was on. Temperature guage was about 3 pins downwards,still the aggresive vibration esp during traffic. Please what could be the solution,or is it cos of the force of cold wash from car wash nozzle that caused it. AC was never on,engine was never washed... JUst a very high aggressive vibration from radiator and condenser feels so so hot..... what's the solution

Yes and it costs me a total of 80k in all. I did not want to go to any m3chanic because they will scam me. What I changed at gate include. Lower arm bushing passenger side,upper ball joint,arm ,tie rods and sockets,passenger shock absorber ,passenger tyre hub Boris. Infact if not that I went with 2 of my friends and we pleaded and pleaded,the bill them slam us almost 150k. Before we saw original tokunbor tie rods and sockets,almost 5 times. Those people at gates they are thieves. They will bring repaired and condemned something and want to sell as tokunbo. The tie rod and sockets were removed from an accidented lexus IS 250 06 model. Infact lexusgs 350 gs 300 share some parts with my 2jz,even rx 330 shock absorber and my own are the same. I thank you all for the advice. Imagine I now took to my mechanic,he will want to cheat me to a whooping sum of let's say 160k.

Dear Op. Also confirm if your front lower arm bushings are intact. If not... have your bushings or complete lower arm replaced. Then look for a good alignment shop around you to align your wheels. I once had similar issuebwith yours after returning from a trip driving through bad roads.

Wrll,I've been able to move it out. My tie rod got bent and the useless ball joint I bought brand new for 19k,it came off,I mean the point like cylinder metal I the middle of the rubber came off. I had to revert back to the tokunbor that was thr b4 and I was able to move. No more squeaky sound while turning steering ,it only remains to change the tie rod complete and buy toks shock absorber. In my life,I will never buy brand new again. It looks like the brand new,they used gum to hold the ball joint or super glue. Will snap when I'm relaxed ,cos my mechanic came by 8 40 am inside heavy rain,we both did it and rain beat me like mad,now I have fever. I have learnt my lesson,never to buy brand new parts,esp ball joints and tie rod. I will buy brand new one from abroad,than nigeria. God really loves me because I fired the lexus to 150kph on smooth straight road for almost 1hr,around 9PM, i let me drive out from my pot hole area ,that was when the passenger tyre came out,hooked my fender and gbam I was stuck. I will never buy brand new something again . Igbos are useless and they sell fake refurbished parts,spray it wil silver,it will look like brand new.The only brand new I can buy is brake pad. Naija na scam. U can imagine,the ball joint body was intact,rubber in tact,clup intact,but the middle came off. Pls if u drive toyota or lexus,pls always change your ball joints every 6 months. U can imagine the tokunbo ball joint I bought in March,was what my mechanic put back,from the useless fake ball brand new ball joint I got two months ago. Tmrw I will be going back to panel beater to hit back my fender,and I would be avoiding pot holes on passenger side,cos that's where the weight is on.lexus and toyota fumbled.

Hi nairaland I happen to drive a 2jz lexus IS 300 ,but since I got the car,af been riding through massive potholes,after six months my passengers ball joint came off,I repaired it,it came off again after 1 week,then I bought tokunbor,after sometime I felt the steering keeps tilting to the left and right,then 3 months ago,I went to lagbowo and bought brand new ball joints. Before today,I had been hearing some squeaky sound from the steering and passenger side. I ignored it and felt it was my tie rod. Took it to alignment shop for repair. It was repaired,then the sound worsened. I drove it like that for 1 week,but my front tyres kept eating out. So today I made up my mind to go to gate with my guy. The person selling tie rod came for inspection and said its my power steering. I argued withbhim that if my power steering has issues,my steering will be hard to turn,he then said its my ball joints,that it's not good. I also argued with him that my ball joints,ibjust bought them brand new,not tokunbor. 2 weeks ago,the total alignment guys at eleyele said its my ball joint. That it's not good. I also argued that I bought brand new ball joint today I drove almost 140kph and my ball joints didn't come out. Not up to 30 mins ago as I was going out on slow movement,I climbed a big stone and gbam,I heard a loud noise,my ball joint passenger side came out the third time . From the brand new ball joint I bought. I have called my mechanic and he said he will be thr tomorrow to fix,so the tokunbor I removed is what I would be putting back. Pls what's the solution to this. Should I order direct from ebay,or I should buy tokunbor again. I'm fed up last week I was laughing at a lexus es 350 09 model when his ball joint driver side came out while at medium speed. Not knowing my own was this evening, damaging my fender.
