sleek214: Wake up from your slumber. Obi can't defeat Tinubu.... The North will not vote an Obi over Tinubu . Stop making politics look hard, it's a very simple game to play. When Tinubu wanted to defeat GEJ, he sponsored and supported Buhari.... You guys should stop playing nzobuzobu politics, if not presidency will be far from you guys.... Stop listening to lightweight politicians from the North like Datti, that are pushing for Obi, these are guys that can't win their polling units. Have you heard any heavyweight politicians from the North talked about giving the tickets to Obi? They want Obi in the coalition so the victory will be landslide and difficult to rig... Obi and his people should negotiate for 2031 or 2035. That's how you wrestle power, it is not given..
who are the "you guys" you referring to in your post?
muyico: Terrorist nurse, no be all terrorist dey carry gun or dangerous weapon

Tareq1105: Buhari just finished 8 years rule. If Buhari failed to develop North in 8 years, without criticism from anyone of you, is it Tinubu 2 years and 2 months that you want him to turn North to Washington DC?

jaxxy: tinubu brought buhari who nearly ruined the North, then tinubu enters and appoints lagos boys in key positions and says the North isn't marginalised.
The showdown in the North in 2027 will be historical.
who is the "north"?

AMINDA: Why are Tinubu's Northern appointees not speaking up for the President? Or are their voices not loud enough? This is the repercussion of throwing respected Northern voices to the side in favour of lightweights, sycophants and yes-man from the North that are ever ready to sing the mandate song. Their voices don't resonate with Northerners. Now, Tinubu is finding himself increasingly isolated from the North.
unfortunately, that should not be the issue.
is there any merit whatsoever in their grouse against tinubu?
are they interested in good governance or their pockets?
monikulapo: Unless you have the mental capacity of my dog. I stated that the price is largely affected by importer adding excessive profit margins and pharmacy regulators being blind to their job. Regardless of inflation the prices of essential medicines especially for the number 1 killer in the country should be cheap. This is not a new drug, this is not a drug with rare active ingredients. Regulators should be proactive in ensuring that the cost of essential medicines are easily accessible for the majority of people or covered by the basic insurance. That is how it is in a sane country. Not every blame can be absolved by the government, especially the way the Nigerian constitution is. There's too many degrees of separation before you reach them especially when price is dictated by the greed of the major players, like you have alluded to - because you imported a product, slap %100 on it then start complaining when the price of everything else increases (if you understand basic economics).
that is not what I asked you.
I am glad you used the word "importer".
1. what currency do importers use to import the products they sell in nigeria and what is the exchange rate for that currency?
2. what is the impact of the exchange rate on the prices of their products?
monikulapo: I'm not glad you quoted me. I used 'profiteering' right after importer. An opinion not sitting right with you doesn't mean it is not an objective truth. If everyone had your eventual mindset the drugs that got to us cheap would still be under patent in the western developed world.
that is not what I asked you.
I am glad you used the word "importer".

IyaTola: It's understandable to be frustrated with the high cost of healthcare, especially when basic medications like antimalarials are becoming unaffordable. However, blaming it solely on President Tinubu or using it as a reason to write off his entire administration oversimplifies a much deeper problem.
1. Global Inflation and Import Dependence: Nigeria imports over 70% of its pharmaceutical products or active ingredients. With the naira losing value and global inflation pushing up drug prices, it’s expected that imported drugs—like many antimalarials—will become expensive.
2. Decades of Neglect, Not One Administration: The crumbling health infrastructure, lack of local drug manufacturing, and poor investment in pharmaceutical R& didn’t start under Tinubu. These are problems rooted in decisions made 10–20 years ago. No single administration can reverse that overnight.
3. Efforts Toward Reform: The Tinubu administration has started pushing policies to stabilize the naira, encourage local production, and reduce dependency on imports. The results may not be immediate, but change at this scale takes time.
4. Healthcare is Not Free Anywhere: Even in wealthier countries, drugs can be expensive without insurance or government subsidies. The key issue in Nigeria is the lack of national health insurance coverage and efficient drug price control—issues that need institutional reform more than political scapegoating.
5. Product Pricing is Largely Market-Driven: Pharmacies and private hospitals often price medications at extreme markups. Regulating drug prices and supporting local manufacturers would be more effective than changing leadership every election cycle.
You have every right to demand better. But directing all anger at Tinubu might make us overlook the systemic, decades-old problems that go beyond politics. Let’s hold leaders accountable, but also focus our energy on understanding the full picture and pushing for long-term reform.
1. what is the reason for "global inflation"? is it the same reason for the local inflation we are experiencing in nigeria?
2. between 2015 till date is one decade, a decade of APc in power. who is responsible for the "crumbling health infrastructure, lack of local drug manufacturing, and poor investment in pharmaceutical R&" since 2015 till date?
are you saying that buharia and APc failed?
what you mentioned are liabilities. did tinubu not inherit assets?
in the last 2years of tinubu administration, how has tinubu used the assets he inherited to successfully tackle corruption, nepotism, cronyism, hunger, unemployment, hardship, poverty, inflation, wasteful government spending, budget padding, insecurity, bad governance, failing public infrastructure, poor medial services and falling standard of education?
3. what are the reforms tinubu has reformed?
what is the result of the "reforms"?
how has local production been encouraged so far?
what is the scale of change tinubu is orchestrating that the results cannot be immediate?
4. what has tinubu done to make healthcare more accessible and affordable?
why does tinubu go to France for healthcare instead of patronising government hospitals?
5. what was the price of pharmaceutical products in 2023 and what are their prices now?
what is the reason for the price changes?
who else should nigerians direct their anger to if not tinubu?
do you actually know what tinubu is supposed to use the office of president to achieve for the people of nigeria?
if you say "Let’s hold leaders accountable", how "come" you are now saying "blaming it solely on President Tinubu or using it as a reason to write off his entire administration oversimplifies a much deeper problem" and "But directing all anger at Tinubu might make us overlook the systemic"?
which leaders are supposed to be held accountable if you saying tinubu should not be blamed?
monikulapo: Ignorance is loud it's revolting. Malaria is the biggest regulated health business in Nigeria. The moniker was just telling you the common sense way to avoid the excessive price from importers profiteering from brand name. The only reason malaria drugs are expensive in this age is because of the boundless greed of the Nigerian importer and covert silence from the pharmacy regulators. There's a generic version for almost all common medicines. If you have had to use insurance to get medications in a different country, you would know about this.
Regarding the Malaria tablets, I noticed this earlier this year when I was down with Malaria. I was shocked, I immediately asked for the cheapest brand they had with the same active composition as the expensive brand names. I bought it and was healed in less than a week for 1/4 of the price.
I am glad you used the word "importer".
what currency do importers use to import the products they sell in nigeria and what is the exchange rate for that currency?

Let me break it down for you slowly. Coartem is like what Panadol is to generic paracetamol tablet brands like Emzor Paracetamol tablets, which are cheap and effective. At a time that 10 tablets of panadol was N1,500, ten tablets of Emzor paracetamol was around N150.
It is like what Rolls Royce is to a regular sedan car. They are both car brands but Rolls Royce is pricey.
Since you can't afford Coartem, explain your financial plight to the Pharmacist. The Pharmacist will give you the affordable generic brands of ACTs. These generic brands are effective as well as affordable. Most of them cost between N2k and N3k. You should have gone for that since you can't afford Coartem which is the innovator brand like the Rolls Royce of Arthemether Lumefantrine ACT. Same way you can get some generic antihypertensive medicine brands for N1,500, another brand of same medicine can be as high as N20k!
You go "do pass yourself " and out of ignorance want to place the blame on someone else.
Next time you get to the Pharmacy, tell the Pharmacist that you are not rich and you cannot afford exotic innovative brands. Do not go there and form to impress the beautiful Pharmacist. You are not rich! Simple
was the drug 9400 when tinubu assumed office or as at that time it was not rolls royce?
: Now, we can all see the evil anti/ Christian agenda of Atiku and his coalition of haters. Their major agenda is how to remove Christians from government positions.how is your attempt to whip up religious sentiments different from what the Atiku supporter has said?
emkz: Kwankwaso is more of a presidential material than Obi and Atiku.
how does that answer the questions I asked or negate the issues I raised in my post?
the other clown Kwankwaso was talking about north and south.
can these people not come up with more engaging issues to use to criticise instead of always whipping up ethnic and religious sentiments?
the standard of measurement is good governance not appointments, religion or ethnicity

how is your attempt to whip up religious sentiments different from what the Atiku supporter has said?
seunmsg: He is Atiku’s digital media consultant and speaks for him. A major campaigner for a candidate speaks the mind of that candidate. We all saw how Atiku quickly deleted the tweet about Deborah, the innocent Christian student that was killed by Atiku’s supporters in Sokoto state. Now, Abdul Aziz is already telling us the mind of Atiku towards Christians in government.
how did you come to the conclusion that deborahs killers are atikus supporters?

kunyeo: It is about your perception.Whatever your mind sees and imagines becomes your reality. If you see positive things, development and progress,it is what you will experience and would be your 'portion' as it is alway put in a Nigeria parlance.
when tinubu said these, what was he seeing?
have the things he saw become his reality?
May 1, 2025
May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu
According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”
On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.
Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.
kunyeo: It is about your perception.Whatever your mind sees and imagines becomes your reality. If you see positive things, development and progress,it is what you will experience and would be your 'portion' as it is alway put in a Nigeria parlance.
the people in this video are queueing to collect bread from tinubus agents.
can you please tell me what tinubu is seeing and what the people are seeing?
Image123: It could be the over 580,000 people who voted Obi, or the over 75,000 that voted Atiku, or just random people who didn't even vote. It's without logic to assume anyone you see in Lagos is for Tinubu. Stop shaming your education background and your parents who worked hard for it. Are you among them?
1. Tinubu didn't win Lagos?
2. who was contesting Lagos with him that he lost?
3. what happened that he didnt win Lagos?
4. under what circumstances did tinubu not win Lagos?

is this the "serious thing" God is doing for these people since they are not anti-Tinubu?
