Our youths drew Roma youths 1-1. They equalized in the last 10 mins via a penalty. Hopefully the senior boys will improve on this.

From the little I know about law, the criminal charges may not stick because the moment a player steps on to the pitch, he is deemed to have consented to physical risks and injuries which may occur in the course of the game.

I know it becomes complicated if such injury becomes fatal ( like this case), but the perp can still get off easily once it is confirmed the injury happened in the phase of play and not an off the ball incident.

Let's not forget that the goalkeeper will most likely get a well paid criminal defense lawyer that will likely get him off the hook.

But the goalkeeper's life will never remain the same whatever the outcome of such trial may be.

They are not really getting senior minutes like that. They have been rooted to the bench mostly and this is threatening to be a lost season for both of them.

We loan out our players to relegation zone teams and expect embattled coaches to play our academy players.
Kone and Obi have been chopping steady bench.

Only Devaney was getting good minutes on loan earlier this season but he is out injured for now.

Lacey started the Carabao game against Brighton and scored a goal. 66 minutes.

He came on as a sub twice in the PL and twice in the UCL.

Amass, much less.

These aren’t “considerable minutes by any standard but I think it’s better than nothing. With our striker out injured I believe Obi would’ve gotten some minutes as well, maybe even more than Lacey and Amass.

Overall, a struggling team isn’t the right environment to give youths steady minutes. A good loan would’ve been much better for all of them but alas! We don’t have the capacity to do that either.
