Did Kwankwaso stand any chance when he contested for president in 2023? Did his 1.4m voters care whether he stood a chance or not? The difference is that no Northerner antagonised Kwankwaso for exercising his franchise but Seyi Makinde is being hounded, harassed and termed a "betrayer" even though he isn't in the same party with Tinubu. He doesn't need to win in 2027 and he isn't committing any crime by contesting. Allow the voters to decide. If he doesn't win, he will garner enough experience for the future.
