According to several confirmed news reports, Indy rapper Smack Peso was killed in Indianapolis yesterday (August 7) after being shot. He was only 20 years old.
Peso died at the scene while two others that were shot remain in critical condition. Police say that a child was also in the home where Peso was shot, but the child was found unharmed. Authorities followed a car that fled the area after the shooting an found another shooting victim inside of the car, who was taken to the hospital.

The most chilling part of Peso’s death was that his murder occurred just hours after he debuted a song eerily titled “See Me Get Killed” just hours before he was gunned down in Indianapolis’ South Side.

Just one day after three men were charged with harassment and threats to witness, R. Kelly is caught in another issue as federal prosecutors have located a bank account hiding $1.2 million.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Kelly opened the bank account in someone else’s name to stash the money after reporting that he did not have any income. Kells is stated to have been recorded on jail calls ordering the person the account was named after “to receive payments indirectly form Kelly.”

Kelly has spent over a year in federal custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago and was set to start trial this fall. He is accused of child pornography and obstruction of justice in Chicago, while Brooklyn courts charged him with racketeering. The Chicago trial is currently being asked to be delayed, citing the pandemic could create logistical issues that could lead to a mistrial.
Previously Kelly petitoned to be released due to concerns of COVID-19 with his attorneys citing a lack of funds to attempt to flee. The new findings of hidden cash do not help that stance.

In 2019, Kelly opened a bank account with a business called SomeBrotherLuv LLC and assigned the funds from his royalties to go to that account.

It’s been 5 years since Bobby Shmurda was first arrested on a laundry list of crimes, but his time in jail could be coming to an end in 2020. The Brooklyn rapper was sentenced to 7 years behind bars in 2016 after pleading guilty to third-degree conspiracy and weapons possession. Shmurda’s parole hearing is scheduled for August 2020, and if his parole is approved, Bobby will be released on December 11.
Bobby’s release may not be of the magnitude of Meek Mill’s most recent return from lock-up that made national headlines and started a dialogue on mass incarceration, but there’s something genuinely Hip-Hop about the story behind Bobby’s case and where he was in his career before he was locked up.
The 25-year-old loyalist was not sentenced alone. Fellow GS9 rapper Rowdy Rebel along with other associates were incarcerated as part of the same case. Rowdy was originally offered 12 years while Bobby was offered 5 years, but prosecutors agreed to give Rowdy 7 years if Bobby added 2 years in his plea deal, a deal that Shmurda accepted. Rowdy is also up for parole in August.

Bobby Shmurda was one of the hottest artists out when he was arrested in 2014. “Hot Ni**a” peaked at number 6 on the Billboard charts setting up success for his follow up single “Bobby B**ch” and launching Rowdy Rebel’s biggest record “Computers.”

Leaving at his height looks like it’s going to benefit him and Rowdy upon release. Meek Mill, Migos, Travis Scott and many more big rappers have kept Bobby in their lyrics and tweets as his release date gets closer. Quavo actually hinted that a GS9 x Migos collab could be coming in 2020.

Emmanuelle Khnaisser was preparing to give birth as a devastating explosion hit Beirut on Tuesday and tore through her hospital room, her husband Edmound told Reuters. Edmound captured the incident — including the safe birth of their baby boy — on video.

The video shows windows of the hospital shattering just after Emmanuelle is wheeled into the delivery room. Edmound continues to film the scene even as he's shaken by the blast.

A large party at a mansion in Southern California turned deadly Monday night after shots were fired. Two people were seriously wounded and one was killed in the incident, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

CBS Los Angeles reports that the party took place at a mansion on West Mulholland Drive in LA's upscale hillside neighborhood of Beverly Crest. Gunfire erupted around 12:47 a.m.

About 20 gunshots could be heard in a video posted by one partygoer on Instagram. In the video, there appear to be two rounds of gunfire, followed by chaos as people tried to run to safety. News cameras also captured a skirmish outside the home following the gunfire.

Head of security for the party, Kennie D. Leggett, told CBS LA it was being thrown to celebrate a football player who was recently drafted to an NFL team. Leggett did not name the player, or which team he was drafted to.
