But the government actually did do things.

The first measure they put in place was the CNG vehicles. People can covert to CNG. CNG is cheaper.

Secondly, Minimum wage was doubled.

Thirdly, the government actually wanted to provide cash to people under a World Bank scheme but there was insufficient data to find beneficiaries.

Nevertheless, let the subsidy go. It's causing far much harm than good.

This came after the impact have already eaten a lot of people up. The gap is very wide now dat all these measures wunt make up for it. If it came earlier it wunt be as bad as it is now... Example of wat am saying is dis.. if u skip lunch and dinner. U will be more hungry Dan someone who skipped just dinner. Wen u want to eat breakfast d next day. U dat skipped lunch and dinner will not be filled by the same quantity of food with d person dat skipped only dinner. U will eat more. And if hunger will kill both of u. To provide means the government would add to the national debt. Servicing the national debt when Tinubu became president gulped 97% of government revenue. A lot of the debt was accrued arose from the petrol subsidy.

How can an economy survive when 97% of revenue goes towards debt servicing?

It wunt survive. But wat measures was put in place before removing the subsidy? No salary increase no reduction of tax. No economic empowerment for business people. Nothing. Den boom u remove subsidy completely. Why not remove 50% of the subsidy and watch how things will be? Tinubu is a wicked man. Tak it or leave it. May his employees and children go haywire and run his business d way he is running Nigeria... Amen
